In fact, as an obsessed pop music lover all of my life, I am more obsessed with Dimash than I have ever been with any other singer or singing act. He does it all. What you just saw is just a miniscule part of his talent as he plays a multitude of instruments, sings in a multitude of languages, acts, and does it all with an incredible amount of humility. Yes, this is the same Dimash from the show "The world's best“. In the semi-finals, he withdrew because his inner sense of justice could not bear the fact that he had to compete with children. He is aware that on the stage against him, minor children simply do not have a chance, and this is unfair. And who stands a chance in battle with such a vocal beast? Dimash has a huge heart and an incredible soul. He gave up the one million dollar prize, so kids could achieve their dreams. Sacrificing for the future of children is not just words that everyone repeats as a lesson learned. He just did it without even thinking. That's how a real man should be.
Dimash is one of a kind. You're right....he would have surely won The World's Best. How could he not? Apparently they kept him in the dark of the other contestants and he didn't find out until the finals who he was competing against. In my opinion you have discovered the best singer in the world. He has perfect pitch and currently has a vocal range of 7,7 octaves (vocal fry C1 (B0) - whistle D8 off the piano). That means he hits notes in almost 8 octaves and sings consistently in 6 octaves. Not in one song (mostly😅). At least what he has shown us so far. He plays several instruments like piano, dombra (a kazach instrument), drums, marimba and more. He has classical as well as contemporary vocal training and sings in different genres from opera to pop, jazz, Kazakh folk, ballads and he even raps a bit. And often he skillfully mixes several genres in one song. Mainly classic and pop, so he created a new crossover genre. And meanwhile in more than 10 languages. The latest songs (from Tokyo Jazz Festival in November 2021) are Ikanaide in Japanese and at his concert in Almaty on September 23, 2022 he sang a new song in Spanish (about 7 languages in one concert!). And at his concert in Yerevan on April 29, 2023, he sang an Armenian folk song for the first time (it has to be about 15 languages so far). He sings no mainstream and is a completely independent artist. He is managed by his father Kanat, who founded his own company "DimashAli Creative Center". The logo can be seen at the beginning of many of Dimash's videos. Maybe that’s the reason you never heard of him yet. He doesn’t sell his soul to a music label. During his concerts in Dubai, Düsseldorf and Prague in 2022, before he performed his song War And Peace, he told the audience he loves all people in every country. And there are no bad nations (only bad leaders). And I absolutely believe this. His concert in September 23, 2022 was in his hometown Almaty, it was so amazing and it lasts almost 4 hours. Believe it or not but he really gets better and better. Every time you think you know him and his art, you realize you are so wrong. He's very spiritual and thankful for the gift God has given him. But he also works very hard to constantly improve his vocal skills. He said in an interview that he trains at least 3 hours every day, if necessary, it can be 10 hours to prepare for a concert. He loves swimming and also a lot under water. Maybe that's why he has this large lung capacity to hold the notes as long as he does. He's a singer you can't put in any box. He sings almost every genre there is. Every time you watch a video, expect the unexpected. Even the covers he sings he makes his own and brings elements into the song that you would never expect. yeah you are right it was the same guy and the only thing they did right was getting Dimash there but many things they did wrong like lying to him saying he will not compete against kids. thats why he stepped down and the craphead rupaul got so mad he told Dimash he was BS (twice) and he didnt respect this competition. ofc the organizers lied to him about everything. it was such an outrage they had to cancel the whole show never to come back.

Yes, he was on The World’s Best in 2019. But I advice not to react to this show. As a rule, most Dears boycott these performances by The Worlds Best. Dimash was lied to and scammed before this show to sign for this show. In his culture, children are encouraged and not competed. When Dimash asked if he would have to compete against kids on this show, he was assured that he didn't have to. Otherwise he would never have signed. When he happened to bump into the then 12-year-old Daneliya Tuleshova backstage at his last performance (the artists were strictly separate), he learned that he had to compete not only with her, but also with a 7-year-old boy. He then performed and immediately asked the jury for his resignation. The jury's reaction was beyond offensive and inappropriate. I'm sending you two links so you can get an idea of how unworthy the jury behaved if you want. I also saw a video where the two presenters made it look like Dimash had resigned because he was afraid of losing to the kids. The first link shows the appearance and retirement in the finale and the second link is from two eyewitnesses who were present at that show and can testify that Dimash was screwed. I love Dimash for his integrity that his principles go over $1 million. I still get angry when I write about it Not only did they shorten and mutilate his songs until it hurts, no. Great reaction, RCR! I was kinda smiling to myself when you said that you'd heard "a guy like him".... There simply IS no guy like him in this world. His vocal abilities are completely unmatched. Some people say that he has a 7 octave range, but I have also hears some say that his voice covers 6 octaves and 2 half-octaves. In MY head that equals 7...LOL You just HAVE to be impressed by what he is able to do, and there obviously are a lot of videos out there showcasing those skills. Personally I prefer listening to his more mid-range stuff though, as they are easier to attach to on more levels. I am not a "Dear" per say (that's what he calls his fan base), but I really admire him as a singer. He's a polyglot and speaks and sings in a myriad of different languages, and he masters a whole plethora of instruments as well. He has been studying for his PhD in Kazakhstan, he said in a Q&A session a short time ago that he would complete it this year. He moved to Los Angeles recently to work on his musical career. Yes, he won a scholarship to study directing there, but decided to give it up. He said he wishes to dedicate all his time to creating music and touring. For me, SOS as a song and his various performances of it are so moving I couldn't even describe it in words - the insane rollercoaster of contrasts he creates is of an almost unbearable emotional intensity and perfectly according to the meaning of the song (the physical and emotional ups and downs), but has a profound healing quality as well (more than 10 years of horrible posttraumatic anxiety disorder that nothing else could cure - and I tried it all - completely gone after discovering Dimash with this performance). I still cry listening to him perform this song after more than 4 years of listening to its various performances multiple times daily. And it happens to me in a lot of his songs, no matter the range or the style. Range is only one of the tools he uses to tell the story and convey the emotions, but all his vocal tools, including his breath control, his vibrato, his vocal dynamics etc. are amazing and are all meant to serve the songs and support each particular story he is telling and the emotions he is conveying.

What I mean by that is that I really admire what he is capable of vocally, and I really like him as a person, but I don't really connect with his music and performances the way I feel that I need to to regard myself as a dear. I feel like if I were to go to a concert with him it would be for the "wrong" reason, as in mainly to be impressed by his vocal skills. Nothing wrong with that in and of itself, but not enough to call myself a "Dear". I don't know if that makes any sense to you? So far there are only two artists that I'm enough emotionally connected to to regard myself as a TRUE fan, being Aurora's "Warriors And Weirdos" and Angelina Jordan's "Angels". Excellent reaction. I discovered Dimash in the fall 2017 thru this same performance. It remains my favorite version of his many SOS performances mainly due to the circumstances and the love poured upon Dimash from the Chinese ppl. Suggest that you find the version that includes his friend from Kazakhstan introducing Dimash to the crowd, judges and fellow contestants. I promise it is worth the time. There is one which includes English subtitles. Dimash is simply the most gifted, talented male Singer on the planet. There is a huge catalog of his work that will inspire and amaze you. Hello, Dimash stepped down from the Worlds Best because he was lied to. In Kazakhstan adults do not compete against children. When he agreed to appear on the show he was told there would be no children competing. This was not the case, so he left. The video you just watched was from "I Am A Singer" where Dimash competed in 2017, he came in second. He was the first non Chinese competitor and also the youngest in the history of the show. His competitors were all professional, established singers. Thank you for your reaction, I hope you continue exploring what Dimash can do, you will never be disappointed. That was the man who can sing across all octaves { well, at least 7+ ! } and all genres, and in 14+ languages, and plays multiple instruments and composes, and... that's just for starters! Yes, that was Dimash on World's Best. He gave a few performances there, but then, reluctantly withdrew, as he was already a highly trained and established singer and was being placed up against child competitors, which his ethical compass could not allow. Some misinterpreted this as arrogance, and gave him a hard time about it, but that was not at all the case. When you learn more about this amazing artist you will see for yourself his true character. Yes Dimash was on The Worlds Best but they lied to him and treated him disrepectfully. Dimash was treated in a terrible manner by the Worlds greatest. It made America look horrible the way they treated him. He is from Kazakhstan. Dimash has three degrees including his PHd and is temporarily living in L.A. where he is enrolled in the L.A. branch of The NY School of Fine Arts to become a film director. S's like Faith Hill and Ru Paul should be put down for what they did to him. He is now considered the greatest singer in the world.

This is a good reaction, and you get points for recognizing Dimash from a previous show. I know I'll get crushed for making this comment, but maybe you'll see it as an extended hand in an effort to heal the rift our country faces. Kazakh culture nurtures children and does not pit adults against children. The contestants were kept apart and performed separately in front of the judges and never knew there were children. Dimash found out by accident when he ran into one of the children backstage right before the semi-finals. He withdrew at once right after his next performance. The judges treated him with such disrespect for his admirable decision that Dimash said he would never participate in another competition again. Plus the televised performances were chopped up and truncated so do not contain the entire song. So, Dimash has stayed true to his principles and refused to sign with any major record companies. He has his own independent production company and performs all over the world. He is currently on a world concert tour with next stop Malaysia. His millions of fans are waiting for the announcement of additional countries.
I know all the shows like that chop up the songs for time reasons, I never like that. I didn't realize they hid the contestants from each other. No surprise the show didn't have another season. In fact, as an obsessed pop music lover all of my life, I am more obsessed with Dimash than I have ever been with any other singer or singing act. He does it all. What you just saw is just a miniscule part of his talent as he plays a multitude of instruments, sings in a multitude of languages, acts, and does it all with an incredible amount of humility. Dimash is a 28-years old singer from Kazakhstan and believe me, you’ve seen nothing at all. In my opinion you have discovered the best singer in the world. He has perfect pitch and currently has a vocal range of 7,7 octaves (vocal fry C1 (B0) - whistle D8 off the piano). That means he hits notes in almost 8 octaves and sings consistently in 6 octaves. Not in one song (mostly😅). At least what he has shown us so far. He plays several instruments like piano, dombra (a kazach instrument), drums, marimba and more. He has classical as well as contemporary vocal training and sings in different genres from opera to pop, jazz, Kazakh folk, ballads and he even raps a bit. And often he skillfully mixes several genres in one song. Mainly classic and pop, so he created a new crossover genre. And meanwhile in more than 10 languages. The latest songs (from Tokyo Jazz Festival in November 2021) are Ikanaide in Japanese and at his concert in Almaty on September 23, 2022 he sang a new song in Spanish (about 7 languages in one concert!). And at his concert in Yerevan on April 29, 2023, he sang an Armenian folk song for the first time (it has to be about 15 languages so far).
He sings no mainstream and is a completely independent artist. He is managed by his father Kanat, who founded his own company "DimashAli Creative Center". The logo can be seen at the beginning of many of Dimash's videos. Maybe that’s the reason you never heard of him yet. He doesn’t sell his soul to a music label. His concert in September 23, 2022 was in his hometown Almaty, it was so amazing and it lasts almost 4 hours. Believe it or not but he really gets better and better. Every time you think you know him and his art, you realize you are so wrong.
He's very spiritual and thankful for the gift God has given him. But he also works very hard to constantly improve his vocal skills.
He said in an interview that he trains at least 3 hours every day, if necessary, it can be 10 hours to prepare for a concert. He loves swimming and also a lot under water. Maybe that's why he has this large lung capacity to hold the notes as long as he does. He's a singer you can't put in any box. He sings almost every genre there is. This song is one of the most difficult songs to sing and made Dimash a mega-star overnight in 2017 (The Singer).
The song comes from the famous Canadian-French rock opera 'Starmania' (1978) and is known in the English-speaking world as Tycoon (1995). Music: Michel Berger and Luc Plamondon (French original text). The English adaptation is by Tim Rice.
That's how it all started: In 2017 Dimash received a wildcard for the “The Singer” competition in China. He was the youngest participant ever (22 years old). Foreign participants were actually forbidden at that time. The director ignored the ban, believing Dimash would only stay 1 or 2 episodes and then go home.
The competition is not a talent show. Only professional, award-winning singers participate. Nobody knew or heard Dimash before and he had to start first ... and after his first song "SOS" Dimash captured the hearts of over 600 million viewers and a mega-star was born overnight. The next day bodyguards were at his door and now he is a superstar but without airs... just our Dimash.
The competition consisted of 14 rounds over 4 months. The jury consisted of 500 spectators who knew music, not just your average "Joe". They were well screened to be sure they would be able to judge the musicians fairly and competently. With up to 1 billion people watching this TV program and international interest was aroused. The performances were uploaded to RUclips ... and so we became Dimash's Dears.
The Chinese organizers planned... but Dimash came, sang and stayed ... for the next 3 years in China ... but he only finished second in the competition because he is not Chinese (conditions have changed: 2018, Jessie J. Won).

Great reaction, RCR! I was kinda smiling to myself when you said that you'd heard "a guy like him".... There simply IS no guy like him in this world. His vocal abilities are completely unmatched. Some people say that he has a 7 octave range, but I have also hears some say that his voice covers 6 octaves and 2 half-octaves. In MY head that equals 7...LOL
You just HAVE to be impressed by what he is able to do, and there obviously are a lot of videos out there showcasing those skills. Personally I prefer listening to his more mid-range stuff though, as they are easier to attach to on more levels. I am not a "Dear" per say (that's what he calls his fan base), but I really admire him as a singer. He's a polyglot and speaks and sings in a myriad of different languages, and he masters a whole plethora of instruments as well. He has been studying for his PhD in Kazakhstan, he said in a Q&A session a short time ago that he would complete it this year. He moved to Los Angeles recently to work on his musical career. Yes, he won a scholarship to study directing there, but decided to give it up. He said he wishes to dedicate all his time to creating music and touring.
For me, SOS as a song and his various performances of it are so moving I couldn't even describe it in words - the insane rollercoaster of contrasts he creates is of an almost unbearable emotional intensity and perfectly according to the meaning of the song (the physical and emotional ups and downs), but has a profound healing quality as well (more than 10 years of horrible posttraumatic anxiety disorder that nothing else could cure - and I tried it all - completely gone after discovering Dimash with this performance). I still cry listening to him perform this song after more than 4 years of listening to its various performances multiple times daily. And it happens to me in a lot of his songs, no matter the range or the style. Range is only one of the tools he uses to tell the story and convey the emotions, but all his vocal tools, including his breath control, his vibrato, his vocal dynamics etc. are amazing and are all meant to serve the songs and support each particular story he is telling and the emotions he is conveying.

What I mean by that is that I really admire what he is capable of vocally, and I really like him as a person, but I don't really connect with his music and performances the way I feel that I need to to regard myself as a dear. I feel like if I were to go to a concert with him it would be for the "wrong" reason, as in mainly to be impressed by his vocal skills. Excellent reaction. I discovered Dimash in the fall 2017 thru this same performance. It remains my favorite version of his many SOS performances mainly due to the circumstances and the love poured upon Dimash from the Chinese ppl. Suggest that you find the version that includes his friend from Kazakhstan introducing Dimash to the crowd, judges and fellow contestants. I promise it is worth the time. There is one which includes English subtitles. Dimash is simply the most gifted, talented male Singer on the planet. There is a huge catalog of his work that will inspire and amaze you. Hello, Dimash stepped down from the Worlds Best because he was lied to. In Kazakhstan adults do not compete against children. When he agreed to appear on the show he was told there would be no children competing. This was not the case, so he left. The video you just watched was from "I Am A Singer" where Dimash competed in 2017, he came in second. He was the first non Chinese competitor and also the youngest in the history of the show. What was that? That was the man who can sing across all octaves { well, at least 7+ ! } and all genres, and in 14+ languages, and plays multiple instruments and composes, and... that's just for starters! Yes, that was Dimash on World's Best. He gave a few performances there, but then, reluctantly withdrew, as he was already a highly trained and established singer and was being placed up against child competitors, which his ethical compass could not allow. Some misinterpreted this as arrogance, and gave him a hard time about it, but that was not at all the case. When you learn more about this amazing artist you will see for yourself his true character. Yes it was Dimash from The World’s Best show. Please don’t react to performances by Dimash on that show though, they treated Dimash so badly, we fans don’t like it and won’t watch! Dimash told them he wouldn’t compete with children only to find out he was in the final with 2 children.

@@rivercityreactor The show was a horrible experience for a very honorable Dimash to experience such dishonesty from CBS showrunners who lied to him about there being no children as contestants. Kazakh culture nurtures children and does not pit adults against children. The contestants were kept apart and performed separately in front of the judges and never knew there were children. Dimash found out by accident when he ran into one of the children backstage right before the semi-finals. He withdrew at once right after his next performance. The judges treated him with such disrespect for his admirable decision that Dimash said he would never participate in another competition again. Plus the televised performances were chopped up and truncated so do not contain the entire song. So, Dimash has stayed true to his principles and refused to sign with any major record companies. He has his own independent production company and performs all over the world. He is currently on a world concert tour with next stop Malaysia. His millions of fans are waiting for the announcement of additional countries.
I know all the shows like that chop up the songs for time reasons, I never like that.
I didn't realize they hid the contestants from each other. No surprise the show didn't have another season. Probably good he's independent now, that's the way to do it nowadays it seems. You can do whatever you want.
