Hello from Michigan. As someone who grew up with 70s and 80s classic rock, metal, heavy metal. When I heard Dimash first time in 2017. I knew he's the one. First thing I checked was if he sung show must go on by Queen. He killed it. He is the singer that every rock band and metal band would kill to have. No singer on this planet can even do 20% of what Dimash does. He's not just a singer. He's the complete package. He's a wonderful human being, call for peace, involved in many projects that helps humans in need. Humble yet giant.
He's the only singer that I know who sings most of his songs live in a way u think it's impossible to sing it that way again. He does it again differently and better.
Like I said he's the one.
Now I really wish a duet song with Dimash and nightwish. That would be epic.

This was 2017 and Dimash has only gotten better since then. Many, many metalheads (including myself) have discovered him and become instant fans, he twists music inside out, pushes the boundaries and makes us rethink what is possible for the human voice.
He's also an incredible human being, kind, generous, loving and unbelievably funny with a very dry, mischievous sense of humour.
I'd definitely recommend Stranger as the next step in your Dimash journey.

Dimash was relatively unknown at this time. He was the first singer in this Chinese competition. The people shown at the start and end of the video were his competitors. I can't imagine their thoughts knowing that they had to follow this performance.

I am 67 i live in the uk. i love music and songs of all types have done all my life and i have heard songs that bring back memory`s songs that bring out so many emotions i have heard songs that have had me close to tears. I heard this song and singer for the first time 6 days ago and im not ashamed to say i was crying Dimash is in my mind The best singer in the world. He put his heart and soul into this song with a voice that is beautifully pure.
BRAZIL - Impressive how Rock-Metal fans identify and like Dimash's talent, there are countless reactions of this type. Dimash enchanted me in this Chinese concert in 2017 when I heard him for the 1st time singing The Show Must Go On, because I'm a fan of Freddie Mercury-Queen and after I saw S.O.S and the following ones, I couldn't stop watching and listening to him, via the videos where he interacted with fellow Chinese competitors with his ingenuity, his friendliness, education, humility, his magnificent voice and the immense emotion when he sings, totally hooked me. By the way Dimash is the singer that moves me the most, it's not just his incredible technique, the highs, lows, but none of that would make sense without his emotion, he's definitely not a robot as many haters claim, I understand that taste in music is personal, but I'm a fan of Dimash precisely because he transmits emotions that I've never felt before with any singer, obviously I was impressed by his vocal talent, his technique, but without emotion, none of that is relevant. We know that in some TV shows and shows in Russia, Dimash didn't sing live, it's the format of the show, and I'm not sad or irritated with that, because it's true that 90% of his performances are live and we know his ability , which most singers don't do, they can't do live. Currently, for me, Dimash is the best vocalist of the century.

Hey guys! I really enjoyed hearing what you had to say about Dimash. I discovered him almost five years ago with this exact performance and have listened to him every day since. He's got about 150 songs out there. He was 22 there and will be 29 in May and has only gotten better. So interesting what you said about heavy metal because every heavy metal fan who has done a reaction on him (and I've seen hundreds of reactors) says basically the same thing, so I guess it's true! I would recommend "Stranger" as a next reaction I think you would enjoy. He sings in English. You won't regret delving more into Dimash. He'll really expand your musical world. You simply have to listen to him now as his voice has matured and he is so much better. Dimash sings in all genres….. This was 6 years ago, you should hear him today! Whatever you choose next you will be blown away, be it Rock, Opera, Folk, Pop, Rap and everything else in between. Dimash THE greatest vocalist of ALL time. You didn’t hear much of his lower registers in this song, but they are so beautiful! He’s currently working on a movie theme in LA at the moment, very hush, hush, so we don’t know what it is yet, but he will be doing a few solo concerts during this year while he is in the USA. Dimash is from Kazakhstan (formerly Soviet Union). He’s very popular all over the world and has sell out solo concerts all over the world, he had a sell out solo concert at The Barclay Centre New York just prior to COVID. His most recent solo concert was in his home country where he sang for 3 3/4 hours to an audience of 35,000.

I like that you said he is focused like a laser beam - I always say that the tremendous mixed-voice belts that he sometimes ends his songs with, such as Stranger, Your Love, Mademoiselle Hyde & many others, are "laser beam notes" - when he sings them, I can often picture a laser beam slicing through steel.🔥🔥💥🤯

Dimash is a master. He has a masters degree in stage and musicology and is studying for his doctorate. He has been singing on stage since he was 5. He sing from opera to neoclassical, modern and even raps. He was still young there but is now at 28 even better. To listen to his operatic voice, and singing in different octaves and harmonizing with himself, and ending it with some modern R&B, you can listen to his latest song, El Amor En ti which he composed himself, and sings in Spanish. He composes. He plays 7 instruments. He sings in different languages. He speaks Kazakh, Russian, English and mandarin. He is also highly trained in martial art and does a lot of swimming to develop his lungs as in some songs will show how long he can hold a note without breathing. He has an absolute pitch which is rare amongst even the best.
Dimash's Master's Degree is in Composition. His current PHD project is in Musicology.

He’s from Kazakhstan, sings in 15 different languages, this song was in French (speaks Kazakh and Russian fluently, some English, and a little Mandarin). He plays 8 musical instruments and is currently working on his PhD in musicology (has a Masters in composition). Judging by the comments, many of us grew up on classic rock of the 70s and 80s, synth rock, metal, blues rock, rock opera... And we all found ourselves here, enchanted by this amazing vocalist. Dimash has a classical education and he is unique in mixing different genres. The vocal range is incredible, but the transitions between levels are fantastic, unusual and surprising. You are absolutely correct about Dimash appealing to heavy metal fans because many of them are Dimash fans. Dimash has fans from all across musical genres because his voice and abilities are unique. Next stop, you should react to his interpretation of Queen's "The Show Must Go On" from the same The Singer Show. You will have to excuse his English on this song as he was just starting to learn the language but he killed it nonetheless. This was back in 2017 and since then, Dimash has been very prolific as there are numerous songs to choose from and he currently has a fan base around the world. At his last live concert in Almaty, Kazakhstan, fans from 62 countries flew in to attend his live performance.

So, Dimash does not have an 8 octave range, he has a 6 octave range, (some argue 7)2 semi-tones, has sung in 15 languages, speaks 2 languages, learning 2 more, has a Master's in Music Theory and is going for a PhD, and has been classically training since he was 5 years old. He is now studying under a scholarship that he was chosen for at the NY Directors of Film in CA because of a mini-movie that he acted and sang in which is phenomenal. Our Prince is not only THE best singer in the world, but he's an amazing performer, the most generous and most humble person ever, and totally loves his country, his family and his "Dears", the name he coined for us fans. I first saw a Dimash video about three years ago, and I haven't looked back. He is the best singer/performer in at least a few generations. I'm 72 and I've heard and seen a lot of very good singers, but Dimash is heads and shoulders above them all. Think about it...here's a young guy who can sing in about nine different languages, and speaks in four. And, in his spare time when he's not performing, he's working on his Ph.D. in Musicology. But, none of this goes to his head....he is humble and kind, loves his parents and loves his country.

I'll tell you a bit, I discovered Dimash at the same time I was on The Singer program in China by chance because I was following the program. I never felt for any musician or singer what I feel with him.
I am 55 years old, I like many styles of music from AC / DC (I was in River when they came), opera, classical music, tango, etc. but with him it's amazing, so I understand you. He puts a lot of passion into his interpretation, he tells you a story in each song. If you have possibilities, I recommend that you look at his reports, you will discover a very humble being, with his feet on the ground. He does not believe himself a star, he knows he has a gift but he does not stay with that, he is super professional that is why he always continues to study and exercise with his teachers. He is super grateful to his family and to all those who ever taught him, and he says that he is simply the result of their work and effort and their dedication. He is very proud to be a Kazakh and his dream is to spread the music of the great Kazakh composers around the world. Let your audience join in the language of music without thinking about borders, cultural, political, etc. To a certain extent he succeeded because in his concerts you see people from different parts of the world, of different ages singing in languages that are not their own (Kazakh, Chinese, English, Russian, Italian, etc).
He is also interested in the music of other cultures. It always expresses the need for a world without wars and the importance that must be given to the happiness of children, with a more just world for all. The way I found to celebrate the majesty of Dimash's talent was to have written the following about him: If I were to rule the world, I would immediately add, to the universal declaration of human rights, another article (they would become 31) whose wording would next "All human beings have the right, at least once in their lives, to hear Dimash sing". I am a Professor and I believe that I have a special profession that allows me to transform the human heart and consequently the human society. I work with young people and young people need to have good references. I had been looking for someone for a long time, of whom I could speak to the young people I work with, as a good reference. That person should be young, a super talent, a super mega star in the art world and above all, because he is the most important, a good human person. I searched and never found anyone with these characteristics. Until, finally, I found this person and that person is Dimash. Dimash was the only singer on that show who wasn't an established Chinese singer. He is from Kazakhstan & was invited to be on the show as a 'wildcard' who they thought might last a week or two. This was the first performance of the show & he slayed it!!!! He became an overnight sensation with thousands of hits on RUclips & by the next morning was told he would need security with him.
He was 22 here & is now 28 and is a phenomenal artist with a worldwide following! He sells out arenas all over the world & his fans (Dears, he calls them) go all over the world to see him live. I myself am going to Yerevan next month & then to Turkey in May which will be the first time I see him perform live! I can't wait!!!!
He has a 7.2 octave range to his voice, sings in 14 different languages, including English, and sings all genres of music from Opera to pop, rock, folk & neo-classical. This song is one of the most difficult songs to sing and made Dimash a mega-star overnight in 2017 (The Singer).
The song comes from the famous Canadian-French rock opera 'Starmania' (1978) and is known in the English-speaking world as Tycoon (1995). Music: Michel Berger and Luc Plamondon (French original text). The English adaptation is by Tim Rice.
That's how it all started: In 2017 Dimash received a wildcard for the “The Singer” competition in China. He was the youngest participant ever (22 years old). Foreign participants were actually forbidden at that time. The director ignored the ban, believing Dimash would only stay 1 or 2 episodes and then go home.
The competition is not a talent show. Only professional, award-winning singers participate. Nobody knew or heard Dimash before and he had to start first ... and after his first song "SOS" Dimash captured the hearts of over 600 million viewers and a mega-star was born overnight. The next day bodyguards were at his door and now he is a superstar but without airs... just our Dimash.
The competition consisted of 14 rounds over 4 months. The jury consisted of 500 spectators who knew music, not just your average "Joe". They were well screened to be sure they would be able to judge the musicians fairly and competently. With up to 1 billion people watching this TV program and international interest was aroused. The performances were uploaded to RUclips ... and so we became Dimash's Dears.
The Chinese organizers planned... but Dimash came, sang and stayed ... for the next 3 years in China ... but he only finished second in the competition because he is not Chinese (conditions have changed: 2018, Jessie J. Won).

Not 8 octaves but more than 6. He performs in many languages but does not speak all of them. I think he speaks kazakh and russian. Probably enough chinese and english for easy communication. Maybe some italian by now.

Dimash is a 28-years old singer from Kazakhstan and believe me, you’ve seen nothing at all. In my opinion you have discovered the best singer in the world. He has perfect pitch and currently has a vocal range of 7,7 octaves (vocal fry C1 (B0) - whistle D8, this key doesn’t exist on the piano any more). That means he hits notes in almost 8 octaves and sings consistently in 6 octaves. Not in one song (mostly😅). At least what he has shown us so far. He plays several instruments like piano, dombra (a kazach instrument), drums, marimba and more. He has classical as well as contemporary vocal training since he is 5 years old and sings in different genres from opera to pop, jazz, Kazakh folk, ballads and he even raps a bit. And often he skillfully mixes several genres in one song. And meanwhile in more than 10 languages. The latest songs (from Tokyo Jazz Festival in November 2021) are Ikanaide in Japanese and at his concert in Almaty on September 23, 2022 he sang a new song in Spanish (about 7 languages in one concert).
He sings no mainstream and is a completely independent artist. He has his own company „DimashAli Creative Center“ and is managed by his father Kanat. Maybe that’s the reason you never heard of him yet. He doesn’t sell his soul to a music label. He doesn’t want to be dictated by money when he has to sing what, when, where and how.
Many of my favorite songs are in his native tongue. He is a nice, respectful and humble person. He respects people regardless of their original, religion or profession. He truly loves his homeland Kazakhstan and his people with all his heart and always shows it with pride in many of his songs, concerts and interviews. During his concerts in Dubai, Düsseldorf and Prague in 2022, before he performed his song War And Peace, he told the audience there are no bad nations (only bad leaders) and he loves all people in every country. And I absolutely believe him. His concert in September 23, 2022 was in his hometown Almaty, it was so amazing and it lasts almost 4 hours. I'm still sad today that I couldn't be there. Believe it or not but he really gets better and better. Every time you think you know him, you realize your so wrong.
He's very spiritual and thankful for the gift God has given him. But he also works very hard to improve his vocal skills.
He said in an interview he trains every day at least 3 hours and he swims under water very often to increase his lung capacity. He's a singer you can't put in any box. He sings almost every genre there is. Every time you watch a video, expect the unexpected. Even the covers he sings he makes his own and brings elements into the song that you would never expect. Don't be surprised if you get suggestions for songs you may have already seen. Dimash has different versions of many of the same songs. They are all worth seeing. Not only is he perfect at singing and performing, he's also an incredibly good actor. Check out his music videos. They are amazing and usually have a deep meaning. You think I’m exaggerating? SOS is a song in the rock-opera „Starmania“ from 1978. The first who presented this song was the French singer and songwriter Daniel Balavione.
SOS was the first performance of the China competition (in 2017) and was his first appearance in this show. The Singer is a show in China where only established singers are invited to perform. All the singers invited to this show are already well-known artists in China who have already won awards. Dimash was invited as the first foreigner as a wild card and the youngest in the history of this show. They became aware of him because he had already won some important competitions in Kazakhstan and Belarus, among others. He was still completely unknown in China. Actually, it was intended that he would only have 1 or 2 appearances. But it came completely different. When he woke up the next morning after his first performance of SOS he was a megastar in China and even found bodyguards outside his hotel room. SOS’ first video had 600 million views when it aired. He was just 22 years old at the time.
The other competitiors might not have taken Dimash seriously at first because of his age and that they didn’t know him but that quickly changed after the performance of SOS, as you can see. Through his honest, cheerful and open nature, he found friends very quickly. Contacts that still exist today.
Please continue to react to Dimash. If you want to stay in this competition for a while I recommend the second performance, Opera 2, where his father was in the audience. However, Dimash knew nothing about it when he performed. I think it was very difficult for him at the beginning. You have to imagine, until this competition in China in 2017 he never was alone. As far as I know, he lived in one house with the whole family, grandparents, parents and a sister and brother. And now he had to go to China alone, didn‘t know the country, didn‘t know the language and up until then he (almost) didn’t speak any English, except maybe „Thank you“ and „My name is Dimash“. Only one interpreter came along and that at the age of 22. He was almost a kid to me then (my son is 19 so I can imagine…) And after that performance he saw his dad. Indescribably beautiful and emotional.
During the Opera 2 performance, he flirted with the audience in a way that wasn’t really his habit at the time (fortunately that has changed in the meantime). And afterwards he said that he was really uncomfortable that his father saw him like that 🤭. Luckily he didn’t find out until afterwards because I love it when he’s like that on stage🥰.

I think it's great because he still seems so innocent. Just a boy and he doesn't seem as serious as he does now and then. He still looks unconcerned. I think what's happening today is giving him a lot of trouble.

He sang this song on the New Wave in Sochi, Russia in 2021. This is an international contest for young performers founded by Igor Krutoy in 2002. Dimash sang here as a guest and was also a member of the jury. Igor Krutoy wrote this song like so many other masterpieces for Dimash.

He is now considered the greatest singer in the world.
He recently moved to L.A. to study at the L.A. branch of the New York School of Fine Arts majoring in film directing. It is a temporary move gut is comes on the heels of him having completed his Doctoral Studies in Music and his Dissertation.
He is also a red belt in taekwondo, a swimmer, loves to ride horses in the beautiful mountains of Kazakhstan, is working on a Martial Arts film with Jackie Chan, is a men's clothing fashion model, kind, loves his fans, is a strong philanthropist but will not speak of that. He is Eurasian by ethnicity and tall at 6'3".
The Chinese did not allow him to win this competition because he is not Chinese, but boy did he win from this competition as he is now world famous and has tens of thousands of fans show up for his concerts and is swamped with people flocking all over him in airports and such.
He was age 22 in this singoff and is now nearing his 29th birthday. (May 24th.)

This performance broke the Chinese internet. The next day he had to have bodyguards escort him around. If you go to Gloria Wu's youtube channel, she has all those performances subtitled with back stories. I saw him in New York in 2019. There were fans from 60 different countries there. He has sung in so many styles and languages it's hard to keep up. He did a cover of a number of Queen songs including "Show Must Go On" which is on Gloria Wu's channel. At the time he only knew a few words of English so his pronunciation was a little off but one of the current members of Queen was impressed. He also raps, sings Opera, Pop, R&B (big fan of Michael Jackson), Classical....
I discovered Dimash late 2017 with this same performance. He is simply phenomenal. Before delving into his newer performances, I strongly suggest u visit Sinful Passion 2018. Dimash, after winning every singing contest he entered, including international competitions, was a special invitee to compete in the 2017 I Am Singer show in China. It is an annual show where professional singers from different genres compete for Chinese Singer of the Year. Dimash was the first non-Chinese and youngest ever invitee contestant. He OPENED the show with this performance of SOS and became an instant sensation requiring bodyguards. After the shows run, a Dimash CD was released of his performances that went platinum in under 1 minute and triple platinum under 1 hour. The show was a springboard to a larger worldwide audience as I Am Singer is the largest viewed talent show in the world. SOS became his signature song. This one, 2018 Slavoc bazaar and 2021 Dimash Digital Show performances of SOS seem to be the favorites. Not really sure why this particular performance was chosen for you to watch. This song has become kind of a signature for Dimash. He has performed it many times over the last 6 years. There are other stronger and better performances to see.
He also performs in many different genres as well as languages. While he has performed in 15 languages he speaks just 4 of them. His native Kazakh and Russian and some English and Chinese.
We had no idea who he was until this performance was recommended. Please give us some ideas of what you would like to see. I’m not sure why this one was chosen but it’s what was recommended so that’s what we went with. Thanks!

I have a new to you singer, who, like Dimash is from Kazakhstan. I'm giving you 2 links. The first is her blind audition at 10 years old with the song 'Stone Cold' by Demi Lovato. The judges were all turned in 10 seconds or less. What they saw was impossible to reconcile with the voice they were seeing. Overwhelmed and wanting to make sure what they were hearing wasn't tied to just one song, she was asked to sing an encore. This was a whole new song not just repeat of a verse and chorus from the first song. When asked this little girl said, "Da" waited a few seconds and sang to her Ukrainian audience a favorite of theirs called 'Tree My'. The reason the judges seem to go a little crazy is she is singing it in perfect Ukrainian. Over the next few weeks of performances this young Kazakh singer continued to amaze the Ukrainian people and all those in TV land. She won decidedly with over 50% of the vote. The name of this young vocal phenomenon is Daneliya Tuleshova. The blind audition went viral and has been viewed over 82 million times.
The next video is of her recent appearance on AGT The All-Stars. Where she sang, Arcade' by Duncan Laurence. In the next 2 weeks her video had been watched over 4.2 million times. Though she didn't continue on, this 16 year old has a very bright future, because, as you will see she is stunningly beautiful. Her vocal talent will be apparent the minute she opens her mouth and sings. Daneliya has moved to the U.S. to finish her schooling and to be close to opportunities to perform in the States. Her new music is very different from what she had been singing before and assures everyone that she is not a 'little girl' anymore.
