  • Sorry about the noise in the background that's the contest announcer at the Dunedin World Titles in 2020.
This is a video interview done in New Zealand in 2020 at the World Kneeboard Champs. This is one of my first 'sit down and talk to a kneeboarder' moments. I've learned a lot since then and one of them is sound/noise management.
Owen won the Junior World Title and performed well in the Open Division too. The video was on Facebook and with the 2024 Cine FX World Kneeboard Titles in 6 weeks, it is time to post on RUclips.
In 2024 Owen won the Neil Luke Kneeboard Classic in Philip Island.
To Quote the KS kneeboard Surfing Website -
"The 39th Neil Luke Kneeboard Classic went down in Classic Woolamai conditions, with young gun Owen Fairweather taking the win in 2024.
The Fairweather dynasty was the highlight of the competition, with father and son ripping the lefts and rights on offer to pieces."

Owen will have to answer that question. This video, of course, is four years old. I'm sure he's gone through a lot of boards in that time.
When he and the rest of the stars arrive in South Africa we will post updates on their equipment and their approaches.

A lost skill that is being held by a few. I grew up with kneeboarders who absolutely charged - sadly all gone now. Keep it up fellas.

The next 10 days we will see, at the World Championships, a collection of skills like never seen before. There's no major name that has not made the trip. We are very lucky
