It wasn't really meta. It had a handful of tops in the TCG and OCG, and won Worlds because they designed the banlist SPECIFICALLY to cater to Blue Eyes. The deck was still just as inconsistent then as it is now.
Yugioh Kai happened in Japan, sorta. For the 20th anniversary, the Duelist Kingdom and Battle City arcs remastered version, without filler reaired. But it was not that good, it made to 16:9, by cut the top and the bottom of the screen.
And we have a rumor about the Blue-Eyes Structure Deck being put in a special collection with the Light Legendary Duelists, just because they can put Kaiba on the cover of the set. it's so frustrating to not have any Structure Deck in the entire year and I don't think 2025 will be any different...
Probably more accurate to say that they're just trying to milk the TCG for as much as they can before they bow out (At least if you subscribe to that sort of theory)
Yeah the sudden lack of SD's is one of the many unfortunate surprises of 2024 Yugioh. I definitely think the 2-player starter set was set up because the OCG didn't have a product for the TCG to import. Atlanteans definitely got chopped up into ROTA to probably beef up the set and harken back to ABYR when they first debut (missing the tie in structure deck though) Blue-Eyes I'm definitely worried about though. Have a feeling this'll be a "Master of Pendelum /D/D/D/" situation where it gets cut up into a booster set or some set import that nobody wanted.
2009-2011 when Toy's'r'us was still around Pokemon and Yugioh shelf spaces were distributed evenly (Pokemon had other toys as well so not 100% even but purely speaking on the TCG side) that distribution has shifted a lot over the years (ofc not every store selling Pokemon can sell Yugioh) but Yugioh has shrunk and is 1:10 to Pokemon there are none of those 2009 tins anymore a lack of structure decks and in general no equipment distribution ....
Because of Traptrix SD I decided to have a deck. I know that I will never play live with another player because in Toxic Wasteland of Western Europe its very niche but I'm ok with it. I have a deck and its cool. If in the future my life depends on dueling in childrens card games against fckig robots, Im ready
I feel this I want that Blue-Eyes Structure deck as a Kaiba fanboy whose first card was the Blue-Eyes White Dragon. And I fear they are just gonna shove into a bad set, and shortprint the new cards to try to make it sell. Kinda like what they did to the Dragunity, Agent and Shooting Code Talker decks.
I quit yugioh right before the set with bonfire came out, last thing I bought was 3 of the Fire King decks cause I loved them back in the day, threw a deck together using them and never got to play it, I dont touch the game anymore cause I cant deal with the insane 100+ dollar staples that come out every other set then having whatever semi competitive deck I try to make on a budget get destroyed by the ban list just to be offered a new set of over priced cards that will eventually be worth nothing. Cant even play for fun anymore cause even casual decks are these convoluted string of special summons and combo's that my old school friends dont want to deal with.
OCG didn't create Structure in early year because they release 3 Tactical Try. They didn't give new supports. But if we talking about new player or budget option, this is good, because you can just buy 1 and play. You don't need to buy 2 more the same product, you don't need to open deck profile and build the deck from the scratch. But somehow TCG didn't bring this product, while in Master Duel they give them as free loaner for Ranked for 2-3 months.
I would be surprise if had ended up gettign those. What, an actualy could product that dosnt require 3 copies to be playable? We sure ain't having that on the tcg.
Big agree, my family enjoys speed duel for game nights and we own all the speed duel products so we turned to structure decks and turn them into 20 card decks. But realized there's only like 4 structure decks you can get that aren't extremely high priced
I would like to note that we have as of yet not received ANY confirmation or product announcement for the blue eyes structure in tcg. Not to mention the format of the product looks more like a tactical try deck, none of which have been imported. There is a high possibility that we will not get the structure and that it will be made into a box set. Which I honestly feel sick saying. But when have they EVER taken this long to announce a structure deck release for tcg?
@@TheDuelingBeard I'm honestly fucked up over it. Blue eyes is literally such a passion for me. I will have a hard time if I try to sit out blue eyes being meta, but I also have half a mind to completely boycott if they don't give us a structure. I think its the fact they know their game is dying, as much as anybody wants to say otherwise the truth is the game is no longer growing and as of now seems to be in decline, the only people who play the "Card" game are either event goers or people who play with friends there isnt really a reason to buy newer products which is why the recent sets that had banger cards made them more expensive its to squeeze as much as they can because they know their sales numbers are too low to do anything else, theres more reasons but that's my biggest thoughts as of why its happening.
I agree with the werid thing yugioh does, that it doesnt feel like you can build a deck thats cohesive out of a single box. In other games, i feel like you can make decks that at least operate and have an identity, but dont feel the same from set boxes of yugioh as of late.
What I think? Honestly I only buy one type of product sealed, structure decks. If they don't make this blue-eyes deck this year I'm quiting yugioh for good (even if they make a new Red-eyes next year).
I don’t think you’re the only one, I feel like a lot budget or causal players will quit and that sucks since they’re the lifeblood of the game not the competitive players
Everyone could see that their strategy wasn't printing the tactical try decks that clogged OCG this year. They would resume with Blue eyes which was already announced.
I kinda been movin to digimon, and listening a dude saying man OP get like 10 starter decks a year (kinda a SD) and we got 2 and a Advance deck (kinda a better SD) and that struck me, man is this year really the year konami dont relase a real entry point product, and now am thinking: yup
Yea it feels like we’re stuck. For myself it’s not that I like card games, it’s more that I like Yugioh and so I’ve got two options, quit or suck it up. It’s why we run our own format But for people that can branch out, I feel them, that is the best move
I think you have the right idea, but aren't exactly correct. The new cards will either be part of a combo set with several decks (if we are very lucky) or part of a new set they expect to sell badly in the TCG. Maiden of White and Blue-Eyes Ultimate Spirit will be QCR, Spirit with Eyes of Blue a Starlight Rare and all other new cards will be available as secret rares. In addition there will be a starlight rare short print Magia included, to "grant those who have not pulled one yet their chance".
Bro I was thinking this the other day with some buddy’s of mine, I asked them if there are any confirmed structure decks after blue eyes cuz I think the production of structures are decreasing and I enjoy them a lot. It’s a shame man
I can only figure that Kevin Tewart got pissy that no one wanted to buy his idiotic 2 Player Starter Set and decided to just not import any structure decks. It’s happened before. Meanwhile the OCG got more structure decks than ever this year with the Tactical Try decks, and we got none of those. Personally I’m just switching to another game at this point. YuGiOh is getting more and more expensive to just compete at locals, and there is no fun casual bullshit format. Everything is for prizing. I’d rather play Commnder format in Magic, that seems more like my style.
They should make decks around types that that dont get support like Reptile,Sea Serpent, aqua,Pyro there lucky to get like 20 new cards in three years and rarely every get reprints or rairty upgrades or downgrades either ,same with Dinosaurs but almost every one of the best Dinosaurs was in a stucture deck to begin with.
You know what, you have a really solid point. As a side note, I hate when Konami puts the sickest art on the most dog tier cards. The charmer structure deck had such cool art, but they were straight trash. I would have liked to see them work as updated dragon rulers where they were good as a deck but also splashable if you say needed extra power in your water deck or something.
Coming from an older video of Team APS .. I wanna ask if something would be a good idea or not? The 2 player starter decks were apparently voted trash all-around by the overall community, but the two, aforementioned players have a video where they play Lightsworn v Dark World but the decks are beefed up with Danger!'s and whatnot. In my own walk with this game, I happened to get two Dark World structure decks & two Lightsworn structure decks at my Wal-Mart. Would a "Real" 2 player starter kit built with pure-Lightsworn * & pure-Dark World (the * is because in the extra deck, both will have same Xyz 4 rank monsters to buff their extra decks to 5 rather than 2) So, the same concept of their justification for why those two decks are pitted against one another, having said 2 players comic book that would *actually* explain some lore or something ... actually have the mats so they know where to put stuff lol ... idk
Yea that would have been way more solid than what they did. The 2 player structures problem lies in its one and done approach, it teaches players nothing about one of the key aspects of the game and it’s deck building, it inherently tells them hey this mish mash can work and this is how cooperative Yugioh is. A dark world vs lightsworn structure would be lit and you can put some nice reprints in it for competitive players. Konami is just too damn lazy outside of their R&D

Why can't we just get the tri-decks like the ocg did, the great structure decks that are incredibly beginner friendly but also has amazing reprints on staples, why can't we? There is really no reason why Konami shouldn't be printing structure decks though i do believe that the snake-eye lore will receive a structure deck similar to the albaz lore did... or Konami can just decide to bury the TCG an even deeper grave.

It is, it’s got a lot of the good stuff about modern Yugioh’s with much less lockouts or non games. It still has some because there’s always cards players will find to break the game but we swiftly take care of them. Come join us!
We didn't have original structure deck, but we did have: - 2-player Starter decks - Fire King unlimited reprint - Realm of Light unlimited reprint - Yugi's Legendary Decks 2 reprint - Yugi's Legendary Dragon Decks reprint They pretty much just copy-pasted some content from before and called it a day. As lazy as it can be. I applaud them for the starter deck's idea, but I hope they learn from the execution.
This card game needs to be regulated more strictly at least in the TCG, because OCG has GREAT quality, they should be forced to match OCG quality. Print more availability for competitive cards for the players, and short print rarities for the collectors, make more structure decks for players to have these things more easier. Like this is not a hard equation to manage to be actually fair for the players.
Those beginning snippets are such a good hook for the video though, one suggestion i have is to maybe remove the intro between Yugi and Kaiba or shorten it down because it could cause some people to click off.
There's only one thing I'm going to correct bud. I don't know if they could make Crimson Dragon because they get get locked into dark dragon syncro monsters and Crimson Dragon is a fire right?
They need a master set for modern decks not just reprint old cards they have printed in the dirt they need to make a list of cards that havnt seen a reprint and focus on bringing prices down and people able to afford these cards needed to play if you don't then it creates problem where people can't play the game because you sit down and your opponents are all whales
Do you think you’re slick or something? When did they originally come out? Or do you not have listening comprehension? I’m talking about new product dummy
They can’t make new structure decks because the meta is so convoluted and borderline unplayable for the average player. Why would anyone buy a structure deck when 90% of its content would get destroyed at locals? What YGO needs is a well-marketed and well-supplied set of tiers and fully supported alternative formats like MTG does. Every time Konami has attempted this, it’s been half-assed at best.
They're too busy printing $150 staples and horrible tins to worry about actual good products like structure decks.
💯
yup my 8 tins all trash I've gotten 2 full sets of trash secrets and multiple qcr doubles super short print and clumping problems.
The last time Blue-Eyes was meta there was a new yugioh movie out in theaters… perhaps something big happening? Netflix collab? Reboot? Yugioh Kai?

Didn't the Realm of Light (Lightsworns) Structure Deck get released in like June?
reprint
I got back in to game because of that old Fire King structure deck back in 2013... without structure decks Paper ygo is just gambling at this point.
100%
Based take DW! Structure decks need to be printed for the health of the game 💯
Unlucky for us Konami doesn’t care about the health of the game 😂
This card game needs to be regulated more strictly at least in the TCG, because OCG has GREAT quality, they should be forced to match OCG quality.
Print more availability for competitive cards for the players, and short print rarities for the collectors, make more structure decks for players to have these things more easier.
Like this is not a hard equation to manage to be actually fair for the players.
You talking about Konami giving reprints but cards are Just expensive in tcg. Ocg is more fair to the player
Those beginning snippets are such a good hook for the video though, one suggestion i have is to maybe remove the intro between Yugi and Kaiba or shorten it down because it could cause some people to click off.
Fair enough, thanks for the feedback, I’ll reevaluate my strategy 😎
There's only one thing I'm going to correct bud. I don't know if they could make Crimson Dragon because they get get locked into dark dragon syncro monsters and Crimson Dragon is a fire right?
I think it’s a light, but I’m pretty sure there was a wonky combo for crimson or calamity, I don’t remember. Overall you didn’t make it often
Bro your the first person to admit it video game industry is doing so bad
This is extra funny because they clearly dont care because it seems they are still profitable.
BE SD came out in the OCG two weeks ago my dude. Your video is a bit late. We will likely be getting it November pr December
I hope you’re right but I doubt it
The next stucture deck will be buried in a 8000 cards core set not qcr new rarity
Bewd deck is out and having results buddy.
Yep I corrected myself with the disclaimer. The video was recorded before I saw ocg results
They could really be coming out with structure decks with all the year’s support instead of these ass tins
100% no idea what they’re smoking. Those commons were something else in these tins. Straight a$$
Tactical decks never existed in tcg konamy radar...
What are you talking about? We got unlimited reprints of Cyber Strike, Realm of Light, and Legendary Decks 2 😂
Do you think you’re slick or something? When did they originally come out? Or do you not have listening comprehension?
I’m talking about new product dummy
Yeah I’ll stick to master duel
Didn't lightsworn get a structure deck
they were good products so they had to be axed
They can’t make new structure decks because the meta is so convoluted and borderline unplayable for the average player. Why would anyone buy a structure deck when 90% of its content would get destroyed at locals? What YGO needs is a well-marketed and well-supplied set of tiers and fully supported alternative formats like MTG does. Every time Konami has attempted this, it’s been half-assed at best.
Fair point
They prob said go buy them booster packs cash cow jk.
What do we boost though? 😂
I thought boosters were an addition, not the whole thing lol
@TheDuelingBeard Just like winged Dragon of raw they said no structure Deck go tell ya Mom's to go buy that booster pack jit 😒 Lolz jk.
Ygo has fallen off. thats why, this has been the worst year for ygo imo
38 seconds ago gang
Mad respect 😎
