ICSE : Makes you fall in love with the subjects and pursue your career into your field of interest.

Point to be noted. The scale of success of CBSE students is measured by % scored. Whereas, for ICSE its Psychometric, linguistic and practical ability. But % also matters here. Candidate scoring 85% in ICSE is equivalent to scoring >95% in CBSE.

    • @samratsarkar666
      @samratsarkar666 Год назад +20

Icse's 85% is equivalent to 95% looks very biased tbh. Cbse have introduced 40% competency based questions and also puts emphasis on practical study and linguistic ability, it is the school who is in the sole authority of teaching be it icse or cbse.

@Samrat Sarkar In 2008, I applied for BCOM Honors in Osmania University. Every candidate was supposed to go through an entrance examination that contained multiple stuff and not theory alone and counseling to get admissions. Out of 15000 students, there were only 2000 seats available for this course. It was surprising to me that candidates who were from CBSE were just ranting about their %they scored in 12th and not focus on the actual outcome of the entrance while people from ICSE were standing ahead of them and getting admissions in their desired colleges. In short, this sums up the story. My views are completely based on events and not biases.

I had switched from CBSE school to ICSE in class 8th. There was a vast difference in syallabus. Only Chemistry book of ICSE was of same thickness as the entire Science book of CBSE. I personally did not like the English of ICSE as syllabus was huge. One had to study a Shakespeare novel, as well as separate books for poems as well as another book for short stories. While short stories were good, I did not like poems and Shakespeare. May be those with literary bent of mind might like ICSE English.

Being a student of ICSE board since my childhood, in my opinion, one shouldn't join an ICSE school after they've been to some other board as even though there is not much of a difference but yes ICSE is a lil difficult and we are taught that way since starting and I've seen all my peers who joined our school, coming from another board and then leaving as they are unable to cope up.

I think that if a cbse student who studies hard since 1st class and is capable of that syllabus flexibility and more hardwork it would not be that difficult to cope up. Also I am thinking of shifting to ICSE board because CBSE is boring and it does not take that much effort to get position and it is 0% practicle

😢I am now repenting over having done matriculation from ICSE board as it engages a student more on History, Geography, Literature, Merchant of Venice, literature etc rather than core subjects like phy, chem, bio and maths. Most of the iitians, nitians, iiitians and aiimsonians are actually cbse passed students who prepared for NEET and JEE from their school days onwards. Furthermore, ICSE board is a private board that has not even 100% legal status as well and has been questioned many times by the Ministry of HRD. This board is a scam, never motivate other children for entrolment in ICSE schools. The directors and teachers of such schools are very manipulative in terms of making students believe that ICSE curriculum is harder that CBSE syllabus (NCERT).
This board must be banned , it's a scam that promotes merely Anglo culture in India. Bhai jab MOV England mein nahi parhaya jata, to phir india mein Shakespeare ka literature kyun parhaate ho, pagal hai ye board, it teaches so many unnecessary subjects (history, geography, civics, topography, JAVA programming, Merchant of Venice, different language subjects, arey yaar pagal hai kya ye board, iss non-sense board ne meri life barbaad kar di thi ek tarah se, jis wajah se mujhe neet mein 3 drop lene pare , tab jaakar mera gov medical College mein admission hua, aaj kal sabko kaabil engineer ya doctor ya manager banna hai jiske liye different national level competitions (JEE & NEET) crack karne hote hain jiske liye aapko sirf maths and science parhni wo bhi NCERT books ke syllabus se aligned hokar. And , Let me tell you that 11th and 12th NCERT phy, chem and and bio books are the toughest 11&12th level books all across the world, that's why even Korean students are unable to crack JEE advanced exams, leave aside American and British students. Mujhe iss board se itna gussa aata hai ki mai kya batau, is schools ke directors bahut hi egoist and manipulative hote hain, agar mera bas chale, to aaj ka aaj mai iss non-sense board ko ban kar dunga.
NCERT books are very compact books, there are not read as a reference book, rather NCERT books are considered as syllabus teller, you have to refer to another book for each topic mentioned in ncert to be understood. And then you're going to find that the reference books in the form of Phy, Chem, bio and maths are even more vast than ICSE syllabus as CBSE is more oriented to Science, maths and competitions whereas icse is generally more oriented to humanities which makes no sense. The phy, chem, bio and maths modules given by NCERT based competitive exams related coaching institutes are even more thicker than the ICSE counterparts..

@@kanchansangode welcome, and plz convey this message to those parents wishing to entroll their children in icse schools, this is partially an illegal board, and not recognised by government of India as well. Almost all private schools in the South India and West Bengal are mainly ICSE schools in order to avoid Central Government administered board in their regions.
Fake board hai ye, mai toh qasam kha liya hu ki mai apne kisi bhi relative and acquaintances ko convince karunga ki we bhool se iss board mein admission na le, aur class 6 se hi Allen ya Aakash ya koi bhi reputed institutes mein admission Kara de agar unhe future mein doctor ya engineer banna hai to, kyunki institutes mein kaafi seriousness ke saath parhaai hoti hai

ICSE is vast , English 1, English 2, Hindi, physics, chemistry, biology, geography, history, civics , maths , computers.
English 2 is mostly literature & archaic English.
Computers by 10th you will learn programming in Java.Hindi is kind of normal communicative Hindi & not high order literature stuff.
Exams are easy with direct straight forward questions, challenge is the vast syllabus which makes it difficult.
Cbse , is simple .English, Hindi, sst , science, computer , maths .English stories are simple to understand and learn . Hindi is kind of tough. Exams are kind of application based indirect questions .

      Almost every subject is divided
      English - 1 (Grammar)
      English - 2 (Literature)
      Hindi - 1 (Grammar)
      Hindi - 2 (Literature)
SST: History, Civics, Economics and Geography
      Science: Physics, Chemistry and Biology
Maths and Marathi these 2 subjects are not divided.
Computer is also a subject but is not taken very seriously because almost everyone just aces that thing.
In my 8th STD. Exam I had the whole book coming in ALL of the subjects paper is also not straight forward in the sense questions are just made intentionally hard to understand. Stories are also very very hard to understand there are stories and poems about psychology, start of the life, space tragedies, historical tragedies and this isn't even the tip of the iceberg. none of them are easy to "learn" or "understand"

I did ICSE till class 8 and did CBSE from 9-12. Here is my advice.
Go for ICSE school if It is a well GOOD school that ACTUALLY covers the entire curriculum (like practicals and field works)
I switched by ICSE school in class 6, and let me tell you, the quality difference can be heaven and earth between two ICSE schools.
With CBSE you get the same treatment in all schools because the curriculum is fixed and rigid. However it is also reliant on a GOOD school. Even though the syllabus is more compact and not vast like ICSE,some teachers may use tricks to make students score as much as possible.
Here is my own real life example.
In class XII Commerce Accountancy, we had Part A and Part B. In Part B the first 4 chapters were Cash Flow , Fund Flow, Shares, Debentures.
In CBSE Board exam pattern (at least in my time), Cash Flow and Fund Flow always came as an "OR" , as an option. Same with Shares and Debentures
Our teachers asked us, shall we cover all 4 topics or focus fully on 2 (No.1Cash Flow and No.4 Debentures).
We being stupid students who only cared for marks, said _sir, bas yeh do mein focus karte hai_ . _Ham khush, teacher bhi khush_ . Apparently the same was done to our senior batch.
Same funda in Business Studies and Economics.
I scored 95 in Accountancy and 91.4 overall.
Got admission in BCOM in SRCC Delhi. (This is back in 2010 when cutoff was lower)
_Phir kya hua? 1st year mein hi meri phatt gayi_ . 😓😓
Here i was, the creamy layer of India, entering BCOM with only 60-65% knowledge of high school Commerce.
_Meri aur phat gayi jab mein CA coaching karne gaya_ . I felt like i am just a class 10 pass out. Everything seemed new to me.
Moral of this comment? : *BOARD PE MAT JAWO, SCHOOL KI QUALITY PE JAO* .

From my point of view don't change it..I changed from state to icse in 5th and was scoring btwn 70 to 80 percentage it took me over 2years to adjust to the vast syllabus they had and the teaching methods,I finally was able to catch-up with all the things once I reached 8th...So yeah if u consider it changing u shud hv did it way back in 5th or 6th as the subjects get divided in 6th which might hv helped making your basics stronger and also might hv helped you to catch-up with the vast syllabus gradually..9th is tough with huge syllabus too and you will be new to programming language if the school provides only computer as an optional subject (as coding starts at 7th)..Chemistry is full of study of acids n OC in 10th grade..I think you might feel it hard to study those equations all at one go b4 exams.. Math's quite easy if u concentrate in the class.. Biology has 16 chapters to deal with, circulatory system having maximum number of questions..Chapters in biology are in depth u need to understand the concepts very well to answer the questions given.. Computer is full of programming like a program carries 10 to 15marks.. Physics is horrible I damn sure u ll get horrified the way the TB is and the concepts are!!I found it hard to get done with physics since class 9..N if uk icse semester1exam the previous year physics was the toughest it was full of numerical based I was spell bounded by the questions and was manage to score only 27/40 n the highest in my class was 34/40..Sem2 was slightly easier the the sem 1 but still..Think from all the angles b4 changing because it's not at all easy to match up with your new classmates too..U feel like you are dumb and nothing infront of those students there(Believe me I felt it too when I was new like my classmates were very good at studies n stuffs!!)I literally regret that decision..But as I was early late in 8th I felt it was worthy enough..Next year you are giving u r boards so if u are not good in icse you ll be mentally broke down thinking about your grades(I had a classmate who shifted from state to icse in 8th)..So acc to me it's btr if u continue in cbse itself as u seem confident enough..In addition English has its own essence among the subjects, Merchant of Venice will be in old english which u might hv to study on regular basis to understand the plot of story very well orelse u gonna get yourself messed up gradually u ll mess up everything!!..It's btr to stay stressless atleast till 10th!!..Geo is so damn difficult that you are to remember the temperature required for so so plant to grow at wt month are those plants grown in India and other stuffs like that, you need to be aware of smaller details in the chap(For me it was the harder subject than physics). Coming to history I feel it's more like a story...This is based on my experience in 10th icse...N u will be having practicals too!..Think well b4 changing it doesn't seem easy..Sorry for my huge paragraph!!!
