My students have both this and the G-400, and I must say the Vintage is a bit better, even though it's a bit more expensive (but not much) here. I had a student replace the Wilkinson pups with DiMarzios (DP100 + DP156) and the tuning machines with Grovers and the guitar sounded very, very professional. Overall, the craftsmanship of Vintage guitars is better, but Epis have better stock hardware (pups, tuning machines). If you're looking to replace the hardware later on, go for Vintage.
Amigo podras ayudarme por favor, estoy buscando un sonido lo mas similar a la Gibson SG...nose si comprar la Epiphone SG 400 Pro o la Vintage SG V6. Gracias
I have both! Overall I prefer my V100, but I love my VS6 too. They both sound brilliant the VS6 a little brighter and much lighter, but the V100 is more ballsy so to say. I love them both, the neck is thicker on the V100 too though so bare that in mind as you might not like that
As a drummer I like to play guitars too. This year I finished my collection of classic trendsetting electric guitars. Anyway, I now have too many guitars, but that's how life as a musician goes. I like all of them, each has it's own voice and sound. I didn't bought originals, they are too expensive, may they sound better or not, what is to be doubted. For Fender copies I selected Vibes Classic 50s as Tele and a Strat. Don't want Epiphones, although I have the jazz hollow body Joe Pass model, which I like. So I did some research and stumbled across the brand Vintage, tested their SG in cherry red and a few month later a Les Paul V100 Ice Tea. Both are great guitars for the relative small money I had to pay in deals with the local music store. Round about 360€ for each. Their finish is very good and they have the typical sounds of these kind of guitars, the reason I choosed and bought them. Don't know, if they're better than Epiphones. Maybe a bit different. I recommend these affordable not in a way 'cheap' guitars to all interested guitar players. Especially the SG because the video is about SGs. A tip: I would also and first play each guitar clean for demonstration and if using distortion, be very careful with the amount off fuzz. Otherwise everything and all pick ups, the brigde one not too much, will sound the same. The true character of a guitar can be shown best without effects in my ears. Afterwards it can be demonstrated, what effects can do with the guitar.
The finish looks real weird, but this seems like a decent choice for a tight budget. I may get a used one I found on Reverb because I need a decent cheap guitar to record guitar samples for my beats. I hope I'm making the right choice!
Hey, I just bought a VS6 and I want to replace the '61 style pickguard with a full face batwing pickguard like you'd see on a Gibson SG Standard. I'm wondering whether a Gibson pickguard would fit or whether I'd be best going with an Epiphone pickguard or another brand. Could anyone help me out? :)
It sounded muddy and crap.....whoever eq'd the amp needs to be slapped.... I've played one before and it seemed nice for the money, and actually very treble heavy (despite what this video would make you think). Vintage make excellent stuff for the money, but the epiphone sg is better. Generally for all of their other stuff, especially fender copy stuff, is excellent
im planning on gettin a guitar soon, and don't know if to go for a vintage v100 or a vintage vs6. Can someone tell me which one is best as they are both priced around the same. thanks
Thanks for the demo but , I would nee buy it from them though why trod down the grotty back end of Leith when theres loads online for a fraction of the price menus the surly customers service or deal with the back in ten minutes sign as is often the case in the wee shops these days of the high street kin.
has anyone whos played this guitar pehaps played the westfield or westwood sg models too? i need to know with is the best quality, comfort electronics action all that not fussed about the pickups ill be puttin tony iommy gibson usa pickups in
that sounded disgusting on the neck and middle position (I never like neck pickups) but as soon as he flicked it into the treble I was like fuck yeah! I'm totally getting one of these if I get an SG.
Review doesn't go over the build quality good and bad. They sell them so there not going to say anything bad are they.Sounded like Shit.Didnf let you hear the clean. What pickups are in it.
The Cherry Red VS6 was the first guitar I ever bought, very good guitar. Still got it to this day.

@SebbeSucksBawlz I totally agree, so muddy on the neck and mid.. but the bridge rocks!
I wonder what it's like with cleans...

Would this be as good as the epiphone G-400???

What settings did you have on your amp in this video?
Thanks for the demo but ,

Can't decide between vintage vs6 (sg) or vintage v100 (lp) >:(
But them both them. Sorted.
First two settings were awful - didn't do the guitar justice at all. I'm sure it sounds better than that.
I HAS A GIBSON DG MADE BY DAVE GROHL (leader of foo fighters) AND SIGNED BY HIM ONLY 500 MADE
that sounded disgusting on the neck and middle position (I never like neck pickups) but as soon as he flicked it into the treble I was like fuck yeah! I'm totally getting one of these if I get an SG.
Rikki's shop is no more. ☹️
