Hey folks! There is a comment on her from The Man on the Street saying I should have installed a GFI outlet in this video. HE IS 100% CORRECT! I will explain why he is correct and why I did not install it at the start of next week's video! Thanks Al! You brought up a great topic!
Great job wiring to the solar, nice amount cut up & put away of prime rib!! Great stretching the food cost, that's a king size roast! "WOW" you did nail it, perfect veggies &Au Jus gravy, I was told to put more green vegetables on my plate, & portion control,!! I love breads, as much as your taters, hahaha That's a meal, fit for a King! Hail King Sean Of Alaska, another step closer to a completed kitchen, Thank you so much for sharing, stay warm and safe💓 happy trails, I have one more video of yours and then I'm all caught up,
Hello, Sean. Well, now you can add electrician to your resume'. Lol Another improvement in your cabin having more light and more very much needed electric outlets.👍👍 My goodness, that meal sure did look delicious and the way you were savoring it was a clear confirmation of it. Compliments to the chef. 😅 Stay well, my friend.
Keep whiddling away at all your projects..... looking great! Yum on the meal! 5 inches of snow today in Texas we are having chili! Good to know you have a nice warm fire going too!
Where are you? I'm 90 miles from Del Rio (NE Edwards County) and barely missed an ice storm. Yesterday's temps were 31 to 35. Rained all day long here.
Hello from north of sweden 🙋♂️ New sub here. my tip four you is to do the cabin only on 120v. And have outlet from generator next to the inverter and in different spots in the cabin so you can have high power tools on the generator. The outlet next to the inverter is so you can charge the batteris and take the plugs four the rest of the cabin if you have low batteri or do work on it. I dont know if you know but always disconect solar from the mppt befour you disconect the battery 😊 exuse my pour english😂 thanks four let us follow your of grid life😊
@@SeanInAlaska thanks four the reply😊 I did a cabin were they have alredy drywall so I drill hole four the outlets and then drill from under the cabin and fish the cabel up in the wall😁
The Prime Rib looks great Sean! You probably already know this but you can buy electrical boxes that are for remodeling - the box has flippers that when you screw they grab the sheet rock.
Nice wiring job, Sean. I don’t know the electrical code in Alaska but in Ontario that plug would need to be a GFCI because of its close proximity to the sink.
Same here in Alaska if you are building in town, where I live there are no codes really. I will talk more about why I did it this way next week for sure though!
Sean, code for a bathroom or kitchen is to have the outlet 'upside down' as the say. The ground on top. Although, it is prefered that if near water, use a GFCI.
@@SeanInAlaska Alaska is based on the NFPA 70. The approve code for that state is NEC 2017. However, as with most states, structures in an off grid environment are not subject to building regulations or inspection requirements.. therefore not able to insure if utilities are installed with inspection
I just watched a long vid on this very topic I have always seen upside down in commercial apt but never residential although the vid I watched went through all the electrical codes and it was never stated as a requirement but did say it would pass either way , more of a preference . Again in our case it will never be inspected
@ it’s typically trade practice for commercial but no code requirement. Since Sean isn’t on public utilities anyway not subject to local inspection the topic is moot.

Looks like a feast alright and nice job as an electrician.👍👍👋
Niiice Sean ! ❤
Okay, what song did you have stuck in your head?
No idea hahhahahaha....random notes get stuck in my head more than songs hahahahah
Good deal getting a receptacle where you can use it easily.
That spot will come in handy!

The outlet near your sink should be a GFCI.
You are correct, I address this at the start of Fridays video this week.

I understood you completely! My plan is to keep everything 120v and i also plan to do something very similar to what you suggested with my inverter.

I did see those but this wall has half inch OSB behind it! Lol...and that prime.was delicious 😋
Sean; YOUR HIRED! Lol
😂🤣😂🤣
The Roast beef is looking awesome indeed. How's the lady's doing. Keep safe and stay warm too.
All the hens and the roo are doing 👍
Saw the pic you shared earlier when you actually made it but seeing you cut it it looked super tender! Nicely done!!!
I didn't see anyone else ask, and I didn't catch it in the video, how did you save so much money grocery shopping?
I bought that entire roast...21 pounds of beef, for less than 6 bucks a pound and got a roast and 14 steaks out of it 😉
The Roast looks great, nice to have power where you need it well done.
Nice you may add more outlets. Glad you are enjoying your hard work Sean 😊.
Well, I guess my invite is not coming. I like well done. ❤
Enjoy Sean! Happy new year 🎉

Your kitchen counter isn't a mess Your house is just lived in Brother 😊😂😅
you just made me hungry! great video as always.
I want another slice now hahahaha...and John, thank you so much for your gift, I plan on putting it to work this weekend!
@@SeanInAlaska I hope it works well for you.
Happy New Year!!whoa baby!!!Good bargain shopping Sean !!!!
Sean ? Could you cut an opening in the pantry wall under the cabinet in the so you can use the extra space for storage ? Just a thought.
I could, but anything I would store there would be something I rarely use at best.
Oh man. My favorite meal .........
I love a good slice of prime!!
Thank you!
Darn fine looking meal Sean 😊
You're gonna need (and want) a GFI in that outlet. Insurance won't pay if that causes fire. Plus 8ts safer anyway near the sink.
He's gonna need a 8 foot rod pounded into the ground 4 a GFCI to actually work 🙄 wake up 👍 not happening in Alaska now 🤷♂️
Nice meat Brother 😊❤
Doing fine no need to rush…
Hello Sean 👋
Hiya Liam!
Shouldn't that outlet be a EFI? Cause it's so close to your water?
Yes, and no. I will discuss why next Friday.
Bravo !😊

There are no codes here....and i am a few feet away from the water....if I ever get plumbing lol.
@@SeanInAlaska there is no NEC regarding the outlet being “upside down. I would know

I finished the beef stew I made the other day. Someone gave me a homegrown grass fed beef. Wish I had more.
Whistle while you work 👨🏼🌾💨.
Always!
Hey!
I heard that.
@RaspberryRockOffGridCabin 😂🤣😂🤣
You might like to make some cowboy butter for steaks it's very good
I have never tried that but I have seen it made. I may try it.
You can sell me those 2 oil lamps to help free up some counter space 😊
I love those things!!! Lol
