I agree with you that if the player puts the plant on a slot that makes it clip through the table, that's the player's fault. I can rotate items and choose where to put them. Maybe there are very few slots close enough to the edge for the plant to sit properly, and that would be frustrating and more people would complain about poorly placed slots.
I'm not surprised the build/buy looks so good, I feel like it's the one aspect that EA consistently delivers well in. The wood tones would've been really good though, even if it was just like one simple wood tone. I love the items though!! The more boho or mid-century items have always been my favorite and this one by far delivers on that. I am kind of into the idea of getting the items all in different colors and having everything not match and it being more of like thrifted furniture. The colors are so freaking pretty, and I am in LOVE with the wallpaper. I've been wanting a really nice wallpaper for so long!
I don’t think spooky stuff should be like this ... spooky stuff was for Halloween ... and had Halloween-y stuff that were “spooky” so it’s not scary ... paranormal is actually about paranormal stuff ... like the title of the pack actually suits it in my opinion ... spooky is just spooky not scary lol 😆
@@feniskoura3726 Yeah Spooky Stuff is like "I want to have a halloween party for my kid". I get that the people who want stuff that's actually scary were frustrated at having to wait, but it makes sense to have these be separate packs. They're different gameplay styles and some people only want one. (I don't want either.)
I think the style for the furnitures is called Art Nouveau, which is from the Edwardrian time (early 1900´s). It would make sense to when that Claude René Duplantier-Guidry was alive.
With some of the rugs, such as the one you pointed out before the séance table, I wish we could use them as doilies, I mean some of them look lacy enough to be doilies. I don't know why we didn't get doilies in Nifty Knitting.

i didn't realize how many people don't recognize new orleans/french quarter elements until now. its a bit ambiguous though as they apparently also used Moroccan and Egyptian influences (which i don't think james noticed bc he didn't seem to know who horus was), not really sure why they used those as it seems kind of random. that's what bothers me though like why not fully commit to the NO/LA theme? the intent is clear in the furniture anyway and they even put emphasis on a black sim in the trailer. they could've gone all the way with build options so we can build french quarter buildings and estates. even take it further with adding mardi gras for seasons users so we don't have to make it up as a holiday and use incorrect decorations. new orleans history and heritage is so rich and full of creative potential that i feel there was *a lot* of missed potential with this pack.
@@milannoelle1576 Ahh I see. It probably varies from country to country. To be honest I know very little about new Orleans only what they show in the movies. That specter jar at the end seems to be modeled after the ghost jar from Lockwood & Co. Even the description of the specters held in it seems accurate to the Skull in the books. XD
Having an elderly woman owing a psychic storefront and ghost busting business would be so fun! This decor is literally my aesthetic. I have all antiques, heirlooms, and weird things in my apartment. Vintage glamor boho vibes. And the floor is literally my wooden floors so I’m excited! I think this is gonna be the first pack that I play first before watching james gameplay. This is the asthetic that I've always wanted to add to my homes. I'm so excited for this pack!
Haha. Nobody can pronounce Guidry. It's GID-dree ("gid rhymes with did - hard G, short i). It's a common Cajun name from Louisiana. Also, it's fitting that the house was built in Willow Creek, since the town is modeled after New Orleans, which has a strong paranormal past. Voodoo dolls, seances, mediums, and haunted places fit right in. It's too bad we didn't get a New Orleans style cemetary with it. That would have been iconic but probably a bit much to expect from a stuff pack. I really love the buy mode items in this pack, and will definitely be buying it for them. Even though I'm not as keen on the ghost hunter game play, or Bonehilda, I'm VERY happy for those (Jesse!) who wanted Bonehilda back in the game.

I was in the sims stream yesterday more in the beginning but decided to not continue because it was to much info I don’t want now because I want to be surprise. I just want a brief information video so that I know a tiny bit of what to expect. So thanks for that.
I've got a feeling a lot of this is inspired by New Orleans culture and its voodoo/witchy/overall spooky background and vibes. If thats the case, I believe you pronounce those words the following ways: Rene' - Ren-aye Duplantier - DO- PLaan - shAY (plaan-shay rhymes with lawn shay) Guidry - gid-ree These names are French inspired, like many things you'll find in New Orleans and in Louisiana in general - along with Spanish. I hope this helps! You're the best!!
The vibe is very New Orleans, which makes a ton of sense - and even that it was put in Willow Creek, which is apparently based on New Orleans as well [though I don't see it, myself - the roads are too wide. [I only live a few hours away]
If your Two Brothers LP is still going once this pack comes out, it would be cool to see you integrate some stuff from Paranormal into your LP (maybe as renovation items?) since you already have vampires within that LP.
Great build/buy overview! I think these items go well with Movie hangout stuff pack, Realm of magic and also Moroccan kit. I don´t know about the paranormal career, my experience with careers is that they are fun the first time and then I rarely come back to them. For that reason I prefer to pick packs based on build/buy items.
I have waited so long to build to Amityville horror house in this game and now I finally can and I can do it the right way and make it haunted! 😍 I am sooo excited about this pack.
a build with paranormal stuff, laundry day and movie hangout stuff would be so cool (maybe even that jungle game pack)! it would have a really nice boho vibe to it :)
It is art nouveau style James. Think of it like art deco is sharp edges. Look like dwarfs build it. And art nouveau is wavy curvy gentle lines.. I hear this mistake for several times. I finale buld courage to say that.
Really hoping that CC creators go ham and create wood toned versions of all the furniture - completely agree that the colours are fun, and that neutrals would be so much more useful than them. I personally find that the white wood options every item has look really washed out, so I'd love some proper wood tones (on that desk especially!)
James............I love your video's..............you are the very best Sims representative....honest and helpful to our community. Make more video's.....make more video's...we miss you.
for me the style and paranormal idea reminds me of New Orleans. Which would means the name Claude René Duplantier Guidry would be french and you pronounced it fine !
ok had a thought. i'm sure someone else has probably had it but ill comment anyway. using the prebuilt rooms that come with packs build a full house. doors can be moved and stairs can be added but furniture must stay in the same place and same colour. it wouldn't be a challenge but it would create some weird designs and funny shaped houses.

a build with paranormal stuff, laundry day and movie hangout stuff would be so cool (maybe even that jungle game pack)! it would have a really nice boho vibe to it :)
It is art nouveau style James. Think of it like art deco is sharp edges. Look like dwarfs build it. And art nouveau is wavy curvy gentle lines.. I hear this mistake for several times. I finale buld courage to say that.
The style and design looks like that of New Orleans voodoo. A lot of the furniture is French Quarter, too
Really hoping that CC creators go ham and create wood toned versions of all the furniture - completely agree that the colours are fun, and that neutrals would be so much more useful than them. I personally find that the white wood options every item has look really washed out, so I'd love some proper wood tones (on that desk especially!)
love that we have more plain swatches now! also they all look pretty good, love to see it!
I loooove these furnitures, decor and wallpapers so much 😍👌🏼
Omg callback to the The Sims 3 store set! they called the crystal ball “Lady Ravenclaw’s” ! Haha
22:07 dude the power puff girls in the sims 4 lol also just realised that jessi dees already commented this lol
Maybe it’s because of my family but I would say it’s the way a grandma in the south (of the US) would decorate
James............I love your video's..............you are the very best Sims representative....honest and helpful to our community. Make more video's.....make more video's...we miss you.
I loved the designs on the coffee table!!
The yellow and blue tone choices they made with this pack are perfect - yes to a slightly muted yellow 🙌🏻
THat house looks awesome. I can't wait to play in it. Thanks for showing us the stuff.
the pictures of darius taupe is a reference to the novel the pictures of dorian gray which is a really spooky novel
I feel like this pack lends itself really well to doing a black and white house.
I love that hand sculpture!
my phone was flooded with everyone reviewing it😭 phone bliddy froze
Ah! This looks so exciting 😭😭 I’m super excited
Oh wow i love the haunted house. That is amazing ❤
for me the style and paranormal idea reminds me of New Orleans. Which would means the name Claude René Duplantier Guidry would be french and you pronounced it fine !
I love this pack my soul pack! I seriously want that doll in my actual life. Sims just keeps getting better.
ok had a thought. i'm sure someone else has probably had it but ill comment anyway. using the prebuilt rooms that come with packs build a full house. doors can be moved and stairs can be added but furniture must stay in the same place and same colour. it wouldn't be a challenge but it would create some weird designs and funny shaped houses.
