    This is nostalgic AF! Perfect video footage! Those chord stabs remind me of some Enya/Pure Moods 😀

      i wonder why you don't work as a professional musician... you are so talented, man! btw - what's your main profession?

      @@dietfried2 hah thanks mate! i'd love to do this stuff professionally, but it's been a hobby for so long :) i went to school for art and design, but eventually ended up working in software development... work for a giant company, just another number... but that's ok with me!

      ah, i see. thanx for answering. i think the combination of art and computing makes sense when it comes to your hobby... ;) i will be very happy to hear more music from you in the future. and i can't await the arrival of more lush, dreamy and pad-driven tracks. so long and keep up your fantastic work! :)

      heya! yah all sounds were sequenced with renoise and all the synths were created with zebra2. i use an external mixer: OTO bebe cherie, it's a wonderful analog mixer with some cool and smooth master compression and fx. i will sometimes bounce tracks to cassettes just for fun :)

      @@arcologies are you finding yourself using less and less hardware as time goes on ? I have loads of samplers eps-m, emax 1 l, asr10 etc and they are just ornaments

    • @arcologies
      @arcologies  7 месяцев назад +5

      @@saren6538 it's a great question and observation. i've been down the rabbit hole of owning a ton of vintage samplers, mainly because prior to a couple of years ago... they were DIRT cheap (and many of them still are). It is a mixed bag really, I don't have a proper studio space and I don't have a lot of area to work with... so I'll never have the ability to have all my things racked up like a vintage studio... and I'm ok with that. I have a nice climate-controlled storage unit where I keep a lot of my rack hardware. I will typically go down and swap out a couple of samplers and an old mixer every couple of weeks. So one week I'll grab the s3k, and the next week I'll swap the s3k for my emu. the only sampler i have "full-time" on my desk now is the yamaha a4000; and it's been there since I got it (it is my favorite sampler). If I didn't have access to a storage unit, I would most likely have sold 75% of my hardware just because I don't have a lot of space and I wouldn't want giant devices that are just sitting around not being used.
      I love using and learning hardware... but with all that being said, if I ever had to just keep a few things... I'd choose renoise, zebra2 vst, and a 90s analog mixer over anything else :)
      also, i'd like to say that ever since i got the octatrack... i have felt the urge to sell a lot of old stuff just because the OT is so much fun to use.
