Thank you for sharing with us!! Quick question..do you take a typical school year for each level? Like a typical August-May school year to do the teaching?
Brittany Lynn thank you!! I’m completely new to this with a 4 year old, 2.5 year old and another baby on the way! We’ve decided to go the homeschooling route and your videos have helped to bring a sense of direction to all of this, especially with everything going on right now I felt like a headless chicken running around! You’re very much appreciated!!! God bless you and your family 🙏
Yay!! I’ve been waiting for this video from you. I’m so excited for us to start primer (and possibly k) and level k math! I blame my TGATB obsession on your videos 😂. Love them! ❤️
Why? Before you can teach the exceptions to a rule, you have to teach the rule. Safety doesn't do that at all. It's developmentally inappropriate and perpetuates superstitions. Not to mention it is based on the extremely outdated stranger danger model.
Sehk Min I grew up with a mother who is a social worker in a prison working with sex offenders and having victims in our family, so it’s important to my family to let my children know what’s an appropriate way for any adult to interact with them. (A large majority of victims were related to the person who assaulted them.)
Very well said! I believe that from a young age children need to know what appropriate interactions with adults look like. They should be confident in their personal boundaries and comfortable saying no. Even if it is saying no to hugging a family member. They are in control of their body.
Hi Brittany I love your videos! I do have a question on how you taught your daughter to read? Was it through first her learning the alphabet through flashcards? I would really like to know what worked for you.
Looks amazing! I'm sure you'll both enjoy it this year! :) Question, have you decided to teach Leyla a year ahead? Or would that be the level she'll be doing if she was in mainstream school? Thanks!
Thank you! If she were in public school, she would not even be able to start kindergarten yet because she has a late birthday. So, I taught her based on her needs and just continued to move ahead as she progressed. That is something I LOVE about homeschool; being able to teach to the child's ability.
hey, just curious on your schedule, do you do the math and reading on the same day or switch it up? i know every kid is different but just want to hear your approach :)
My kid sometimes forget the numbers and when we ask what number it is he will be in a black state he is just started kindergarten but he will turn 6 this November bcoz of his birth month he is in kindergarten and can u help us how to improve it and he reads books but always break the words and try to figure out the word using the letter sound we are soo worried can u plz help us ? Can u tell us how we can improve plZ plZ I have no one to help
It sounds like he is doing great! All children have areas that they are weaker in. Don't put a lot of pressure on yourself or your son. Plenty of patience and practice and you will see improvement.
Brittany Lynn thank u soo much I feel like hugging u and cry. His teacher keep telling he is below average and our culture education is the most imp thing we were so worried and we keep saying no my kid is intelligent but still sometimes out of fear that he might not compete with others I yell at him is a lot thank u soo much for a positive feedback
Definitely having too high of expectations of the amount of work we could get done in one day. Especially the first few weeks of school. Taking it slow and easing into the lessons has seemed to be a lot easier for everyone.
So happy I found you 😊 as I'm starting my own journey of homeschooling my boys...
I'm so happy too! I hope you have the best time.

Yes that is about how it’s been working for us so far. Last year we did Level K September-June. So I think it will work out similarly again this year.

Chessica H I’m so happy you love it! The obsession is spreading like wildfires! Lol I love it!
The safety unit looks amazing...I love that TGTB teaches littles about personal boundaries!
YES! I think that is SO important. I can't wait to get into it.

Sehk Min these are the things I find important for my family and what I will be teaching my children. You may have your own opinions.

how much of the curriculum religious based?
It isn't in every lesson. But there is mention of God here and there. Talks about creation. Things like that.
