If you notice then you see that after making the legendary Godzilla, now new Japanese Godzilla are similar to legendary like minus one and Godzilla earth and Godzilla Earth was really like legendary godzilla but with bigger size.
Plus a Japan studio, idk if it from Toto but they made an Godzilla Jr Vs Megalon and they made Megalon look super realistic and more alien bug like, like Monsterverse will make there monsters or Toto monsters to be like. That tells everyone that the Japan companies and Toto really love Monsterverse Godzilla and there and Toto monsters looking super realistic and stuff. Plus making Minus One Godzilla when he starts his atomic breath, is the same thing when Monsterverse Godzilla starts his atomic breath, to his tail and up. We even heard that (I think it the creator), when Monsterverse started the first godzills movie called “Godzilla 2014”, this man extremely love the movie and loved the designs on Godzilla and the monsters before he passed away
I’m cool with the MV one . I like that story line and direction better , much rather have them sorta on on our side then against I like that idea. I like the idea of Kong being in that universe as well
I think the one thing I don’t like of monster verse is how square his head is. I get it’s supposed to be modernized but it feels too much of a departure from the og. I like it for what it is though, it’s a solid realistic head but I feel like they could’ve done something different
Hm. On One side we have original Godzilla given new life for modern audiences to experience. On the other hand is a western reimagined Godzilla that although unique, still is respectful to the characters Japanese origins. I have my reservations about MinusGoji (Minus One Godzilla) but I like both designs. Plus if Minus One does grow to Heisei era size (100 meters) they can bring in some classic toho monsters. OR we could get the GODZILLA VS GAMERA movie we always wanted.
I'm glad they are going back to the classic feet. There's nothing good about the sauropod feet on the Monsterverse Godzilla. That way always a massive design flaw. It isn't more realistic because "the biggest animals like elephants and sauropods have feet like that", when those animals are ALL quadrupeds, and that foot design ONLY works for quadrupeds. The largest bipeds always have significant surface area to balance and not fall on their face as they take steps.
Dude MV godzilla has sauropod/elephant feet to support his large size, how is that a design flaw when that was added to make sense of godzilla's size 🙄. Also let's take into account godzilla is his OWN species of animal and has been seen GOING quadruped on kong in gvk. Does it seriously make a difference?. Saying "that foot only works for quadrupeds" has no meaning when kaiju defy all laws of science and nature.
@@Kaiju-bm4ts You literally made two points that contradict each other. You just said his design makes sense, and that there is not need for it to make sense. Which is it? And they still don't make sense. Just because he's a capable of walking on all fours on rare occasions doesn't justify feet that ONLY work for walking on all fours. Certainly not at all for a something that is primarily bipedal on land. It's like saying because an elephant can take a few awkward steps on their hind legs that they count as a biped and there for their feet work for something that is bipedal the majority of the time. The entire argument from Gareth Edwards, which you're parroting, was "muh realism cuz elephants and sauropods are the biggest things", which entirely falls apart because those animals primarily walk on all fours and don't need a larger surface area at the front of their feet to balance themselves on. The "muh realism argument only works IF it's accurate. And saying "muh realism doesn't matter" when the inaccuracy is pointed out, ALSO nullifies the prior attempt at realism. The elephant feet look stupid, and are stupid and drastically deviate from the original for no good reason. Michael Dougherty was right to increase their size for KOTM, and even then they could still be a bit larger.
@@GOJIRA-bo8uo I noticed for the 2019 KOTM design Dougherty increased his foot size, which is a very good thing. They could still be a bit larger, but it was a huge improvement.
@@GOJIRA-bo8uo Correct. I have models of both the 2014 and 2019 design in the same scale on my desk and the 2019 version has much bigger feet. In the movie they were a lot bigger too. Some models and toys for the 2019 version still have the 2014 tiny feet, and maybe that's what he was looking at, but those ones weren't accurate to the movie.
Oh, I give you credit for having the balls to make this video. I love your accountant, but there’s no way I would’ve made the video when all we’ve got is one image of him and a teaser trailer that shows his feet and part of his tail.
Minus Godzilla destroyed ground with its foot step where Monsterverse one even while running doesn't effect the ground at all which showcase that minus Godzilla will be too heavy due to his weight. If he's 200 Feet tall so his height would be atleast 70,000 Tones. Monsterverse one is 99,000 Tones but height is really big 394 Feets yes GVK G-Man is one feet taller than his KOTM self
In terms of the physical function of the dorsal plates, I do wonder what they’d look like if they were designed to be 100% practical rather than cool looking. Would it just like a row of shark fins?
From a practical stand point they're probably used to cool him down while using his atomic breath, so the more surface area the better they'd do their job. So they'd be big and very jagged.
Legendary version was more elegant probably designed that way to emphasize his benevolent nature as the video host mentioned. Toho version looks a bit zombified. Dorsal design looks a bit unrealistic. It makes me feel bad for him.
anyone here after watching Godzilla Minus One, man it was so fkin amazing, especially the atomic breath scene and it's roar just sent shivers down my spine.
Legendary Goji and Minus Goji represent two different aspects of the Godzilla franchise. Legendary represents the Showa-Hesei era with the giant monster fights and goofiness (exactly why legendary’s godzilla is a tanky brawler). Minus One is a remake of the ‘54 movie so this Godzilla is more geared towards terrorizing humans (smaller, freakish abilities, easier to kill)
I really like the minus One design as opposed to the ridiculous "shin" design. But The legendary Godzilla of the monsterverse will always look the coolest to me. I grew up watching all the godzilla movies from the original and all the offerings from Japan. The camp and goofy rubber suit look gets a bit annoying at times especially when Godzilla is jumping and doing a jig... >__> The Monsterverse version of Godzilla does what the older versions cannot - show us a truly awesome force of nature that looks like an actual organic monster.
lmao. the disrespect. the arrogance. makes me wish toho just forever declined any americans to try their take on godzilla. after the immortal failure of godzilla 98. lol. smh. 🤔😄 shin design was the most terrifying and true to the original film godzilla and its message. hence its name true godzilla!! a force of nature that humans are humbled by. not buddy buddy hand holding we are the world protect the precious humans godzilla. that said i like all gojis. even zilla but only in animated series. 😁 and its neat how this minus design blends legendary style into it. while retaining toho godzilla vibes too. and stans lost godzilla design. man they need to make griffon a canon kaiju too.
With minus 1 dorsal plates they kinda remind me of the dorsal places on the dead humanoid godzillas growing out of shin godzilla in the end of his film
Legendary Godzilla definitely makes minus one Godzilla like smaller for sure , Legendary looks smarter while Minus one G looks like he has a fuckn chip on his shoulder everyday just menacing rugged looking as shit , I like it
Dude that's a human POV shot, kaiju in general look big compared to us humans that doesn't mean they're bigger or smaller compared to other kaiju. By that logic godzilla 1998 is bigger compared to godzilla earth because he looks big compared to humans when we all know godzilla 1998 is smaller than godzilla earth when compare their actual sizes
Well that they FINALLY used some good CGI monster and not so rubber suit like is the great improvment to me. Shin Godzilla seemed like a big puppet compared to Legendary Godzilla. You can't really be convinced with that movie after watch Godzilla 2014 anymore, and Shin came AFTER. But now, Japanese Godzilla seems really convincing.
Love the minus one design over the monsterverse. The monsterverse doesnt look menacing enough. It looks like one very fat, overweight dude who cant get up without the help of someone. The minus one looks rip, and the face is truly horrifying like straight out of nightmares. My only compaint is i wish minus one would be like 500-1000 ft tall. That would make him 300m high, tall but not taller than many new skyscrapers still
R u insane??? Toho Godzilla only 200 feet???? My friend in 1954 based on skyscrapers present in Tokyo 160 ft high was perfect but now I. Am sure with so. Much revamp I highly doubt it will be 200 ft high... At least 400 ft tall if not more..... Won't do justice if its 200 ft tall
Legendary Godzilla looks more realistic (close to present day reptiles) by nature. Minus one looks more like a toy / person in rubber suite / miniature animatronics + cgi.
Monsterverss Godzilla only care is about restoring order to the natural world and basically make sure Human just mind their own business. While Japanese Godzilla is pretty much "Anyway, i start smash"
Minus One Godzilla looks like Junior (Heisei/Millenium) on steroids. And I love it. Can't wait to see a proper real Godzilla again after that american failure. Also love the digitigrade legs and the more realistic eyes and teeth. The braids on his head are iconic. No Big G without them, sorry.
I really cant choose which one i like more seeing as there now my current favorite godzilla designs. But it makes me so happy to see that japan and toho seem to really enjoy our take on Godzilla. you can see how much legendarys movies have influenced this design especally with the skin color/texture and the mono colored dorsal fins.
well ya legendary redeem the horrible 98 american zilla movie.... lol. but the animated series was cool. but toho are fanboys of legendary cuz some godzillas do look heavily influenced by that design. godzilla earth being my fav. but this minus one is now fav too.
I’m just not really feeling Minus One’s design. Maybe it’ll take some time to grown on me but who knows. His legs and feet especially look too wonky and stylized imo. And his chest looks odd, it looks like has strange pecs. His face is okay… but a bit too chonky, like he has puffy cheeks. He’ll probably look better in the film but from these still shots and media art I’m just not into him yet. Say what you want about Legendary and Shin… they’re both very unique designs, from each other and from every other Godzilla. I prefer their designs at least to this point, far more. But I’m open to changing my mind about him once I see him on the big screen. I hope the movie is great.
You continued to zoom in on minus one and make it look like they’re close in size. Minus one Godzilla is literally about 200ft smaller than the monsterverse Godzilla.
I would not call Godzilla a evil entity, I think that he is there like you said to protect the earth, and over all humans weather they think they are not doing it or not are helping to kill the earth with every hamburger wrapper they throw on the ground, with every cigarette butt they throw on the ground. He is just in my eyes bring balance to a world that is out of balance.

I love design Monsterverse Legendary Godzilla face looks like Dragon or Dinosaur thats my favorite Cgi the best🦖🐉
G -1: Thinderthighs
G MV: Head is too dog-like and too small. Too thick chest to back.
i kinda hope minus one will be bigger
I'm glad they are going back to the classic feet. There's nothing good about the sauropod feet on the Monsterverse Godzilla. That way always a massive design flaw. It isn't more realistic because "the biggest animals like elephants and sauropods have feet like that", when those animals are ALL quadrupeds, and that foot design ONLY works for quadrupeds. The largest bipeds always have significant surface area to balance and not fall on their face as they take steps.
that only happens in the 2014 model, from kotm onwards the feet have been different having a more bipedal dinosaur appearance
Gills are there on the MinusOne when go frame by frame on the trailer in the one shot you see his face. They're barely there, they blend in.
1:50 ROCK AND STONE LADS
Oh, I give you credit for having the balls to make this video. I love your accountant, but there’s no way I would’ve made the video when all we’ve got is one image of him and a teaser trailer that shows his feet and part of his tail.
So, you have no idea that they released the design, the ones we showcased in the video. Ok cool
Yes yes and yes this Godzilla video puts the biggest smile on my face !
I like Monsterverse he's just awesome and huge the way I think he should be.
The dorsal spikes on Minus One Goji kinda remind me of shurikens
Thank you for your channel
Minus Godzilla destroyed ground with its foot step where Monsterverse one even while running doesn't effect the ground at all which showcase that minus Godzilla will be too heavy due to his weight. If he's 200 Feet tall so his height would be atleast 70,000 Tones. Monsterverse one is 99,000 Tones but height is really big 394 Feets yes GVK G-Man is one feet taller than his KOTM self
Toho should have a Godzilla design contest. What die-hard fan wouldn't love that chance.
In terms of the physical function of the dorsal plates, I do wonder what they’d look like if they were designed to be 100% practical rather than cool looking. Would it just like a row of shark fins?
That or stegosaurus plates. Prolly a mix of both
His body is a walking nuclear reactor, so I'd think the plate's most practical function would be to maybe cool his inner reactor, lol.
From a practical stand point they're probably used to cool him down while using his atomic breath, so the more surface area the better they'd do their job. So they'd be big and very jagged.
I love the Legendary Godzilla so much. Next to the Heisei and original designs, the Legendary design just might be the best Godzilla design.
I'm thinking this is a Godzilla year one type of approach
Yeah that’s really all you think people really talk about the dorsal plates and they always call him like chunky Zillow or somethin
I really like the minus One design as opposed to the ridiculous "shin" design. But The legendary Godzilla of the monsterverse will always look the coolest to me.
I grew up watching all the godzilla movies from the original and all the offerings from Japan. The camp and goofy rubber suit look gets a bit annoying at times
especially when Godzilla is jumping and doing a jig... >__> The Monsterverse version of Godzilla does what the older versions cannot -
show us a truly awesome force of nature that looks like an actual organic monster.
lmao. the disrespect. the arrogance. makes me wish toho just forever declined any americans to try their take on godzilla.
after the immortal failure of godzilla 98. lol. smh. 🤔😄
shin design was the most terrifying and true to the original film godzilla and its message. hence its name true godzilla!!
a force of nature that humans are humbled by. not buddy buddy hand holding we are the world protect the precious humans godzilla.
that said i like all gojis. even zilla but only in animated series. 😁 and its neat how this minus design blends legendary style into it.
while retaining toho godzilla vibes too. and stans lost godzilla design. man they need to make griffon a canon kaiju too.
First also we need more news on more Godzilla movies also I thought minus one and zero were the same but I think their different
I hope Godzilla -1 design sticks around
I like the traditional looking godzilla
Just saw Minus One, was amazing
With minus 1 dorsal plates they kinda remind me of the dorsal places on the dead humanoid godzillas growing out of shin godzilla in the end of his film
Just realised Monsterverse Godzilla has the same square shaped snout as Barney the dinosaur.
And monster verse has a pinhead 😅
Can’t wait 2 different versions of Godzilla
Legendary Godzilla definitely makes minus one Godzilla like smaller for sure , Legendary looks smarter while Minus one G looks like he has a fuckn chip on his shoulder everyday just menacing rugged looking as shit , I like it
If Godzilla was real, I think these two would be the most accurate. Especially when it comes to size, and look.
Don't stand a chance because there aren't ultraman in this world
I don't lie the feline snout on Godzilla which has been prominent in the Japanese versions for some time. .. But I like everything else!
Eh looks like canine or a dog nose to me
I have always loved the original Godzilla vs. Monsterverse. Not even close to me.
lol Judging by his foot on the trailer. Minus One seemed to be just as big as legendary G. Even if not. He already looks much more better and scarier.
I prefer the Legendary version as far as design is concerned. but Minus is made to reflect the terror of the bombs so if it is more terrifying.
Y'all are so boring
Godzilla Minus One Is 500 Tall in google
4:43 pretty sure the current Monsterverse Godzilla has a short tail and a round point, the 2014 one has a longer tail and is more pointy
The current monsterverse tail is shorter that when it first appeared in 2014
2021 Godzilla has a long tail
I would be cool to get across over
Why is it titled as Godzilla Minus one? What's the hidden meaning of minus one?
Can you imagine MiniMe firing his atomic breath thinking he could kill Legendary G, only to empower him even more!
😅😅
The dorsal plates look like the barbs on barbed wire or maybe caltrops.
The Hollywood version is what I like but with 15 million budget the minus 1 did great.
They're the same size I thought the minus one was going to be bigger
Love the minus one design over the monsterverse. The monsterverse doesnt look menacing enough. It looks like one very fat, overweight dude who cant get up without the help of someone. The minus one looks rip, and the face is truly horrifying like straight out of nightmares. My only compaint is i wish minus one would be like 500-1000 ft tall. That would make him 300m high, tall but not taller than many new skyscrapers still
Minus One Godzilla’s beam attack has to be stronger than Monsterverse’s. Beautifully so.
Minus one godzilla looking kinda thicc
Minus one is legendary Godzilla's chew toy. 😂
Monsterverse Godzilla vs Evil Godzilla Minus One
R u insane???
Toho Godzilla only 200 feet????
My friend in 1954 based on skyscrapers present in Tokyo 160 ft high was perfect but now I. Am sure with so. Much revamp I highly doubt it will be 200 ft high...
At least 400 ft tall if not more..... Won't do justice if its 200 ft tall
Legendary Godzilla looks more realistic (close to present day reptiles) by nature. Minus one looks more like a toy / person in rubber suite / miniature animatronics + cgi.
OG Gojira Japan still my favorite. 👍🏻
Classic fans know MV is a mixture between 2008 Zilla and Minus Zilla. Hold my cup. Just look at the square head. With the beefy body.
Monsterverss Godzilla only care is about restoring order to the natural world and basically make sure Human just mind their own business. While Japanese Godzilla is pretty much "Anyway, i start smash"
I think legendary godzilla has four toes
monsterverse always my champ
Minus one Goji looks like an older design and I like that
prefer the monsterverse design anyday
Minus One Godzilla looks like Junior (Heisei/Millenium) on steroids. And I love it. Can't wait to see a proper real Godzilla again after that american failure. Also love the digitigrade legs and the more realistic eyes and teeth. The braids on his head are iconic. No Big G without them, sorry.
They're both awesome in my opinion
Yes they are
Minus one Godzilla is way too small I don’t know if it’s just me but I prefer a giant freak of nature Godzilla
To be honest with you I like both designs
Monsterverse and minus 1 team up would be cool
well ya legendary redeem the horrible 98 american zilla movie.... lol. but the animated series was cool.
but toho are fanboys of legendary cuz some godzillas do look heavily influenced by that design. godzilla earth being my fav. but this minus one is now fav too.
Minus one would be my new favorite besides final wars
Dynamite comes in small packages.
legendary Godzilla was first seen in 2014
Who is Winner?'' Monsterverse Godzilla or Godzilla Minus One
I would not call Godzilla a evil entity, I think that he is there like you said to protect the earth, and over all humans weather they think they are not doing it or not are helping to kill the earth with every hamburger wrapper they throw on the ground, with every cigarette butt they throw on the ground. He is just in my eyes bring balance to a world that is out of balance.
