I do not necessarily understand quantum tech or quantum theory which i believe these techs are build upon. But i know encryption a little bit and those numbers are purely subjective and / or arbitrary and does not dictate processing speed of said computers. Any encryption without including time as a factor is linear thus will only take millisecond for even your desktop to break such encryption given the key. So far the only way to break this linearity in encryption that i know of is to add time as a factor aka changing the key within set time periodically. And if all the myth about quantum computers is true and that they can process multiple key sets at the same instance which means you literally cannot change key in a encryption fast enough before a quantum computer can break them. So this all sounds like a myth to me. But this is just paranoia. Because even without the help of quantum computer if a powerful country like US, China, Russia,etc...want to break the encrypted data then all it would take is few well placed bribe and spies. And we have been doing it since WW1 with records or even before that. At the end of the day It's just a tool and we can break a rock with a hammer or a heavy beam if you know how, so that rock is going to break even if you protect it against hammer. Thus it's prudent to not give so much importance to that rock instead and accept that rocks will break. If you know what i mean.
