      I just purchased this device. I was able to change how quickly the device times out my going to menu - settings- screen timeout and selecting desired time

    Your video helped me. I couldn't figure out how to get to the home screen. I didn't know to swipe and wasn't mentioned in the help. 😄 And now they added the screen timeout to settings!

    Mobile routers ought to have built in NAS or media functions.
    Miss the day some use to support micro-sd, so you'd have a portable media streaming hub.

    Timeout settings are adjustable. It comes with life time 1 gig, renewable monthly free.

    I have a Verizon phone. Will this connect with other providers such as AT&T towers once I set this up?
    Im pretty new to how wifi devices work

      Great question... It'll pull data from whichever provider is best and you'll connect to it as you would with any Wi-Fi network (so doesn't matter if it's a Verizon phone or otherwise). Hope that helps some!

    What's the range like on this? Is it enough to cover a small to mid size home? I have the 4g solis and the range isn't great so I bought an extender.

    Hello, does it catch network better than just using 5g sim in 5g phone? Because we get 5g phone at much less cost than this. Is this router worth over the 5g phone itself?

    Thanks for the review, which is the best I’ve seen on this new device.
    I also wondered about Solis (US) vs Acer (EU). The two devices appear basically identical. The former is $400 and the latter is €300. However, once the device is purchased, is there any difference in available eSim rates, I wonder? For example, the Solis purchased in the US currently includes 1GB free per month (worth about $8 monthly) for the life of the device, which more than offsets the price premium if this offer is not included with the EU device.

      @@gearupaaronI'm from Europe, and my Acer M3 came with 20GB international data that are available for 6 months once activated. Your 1GB free per month is pretty cool too! 1GB / month in my available plans are worth 3.5 euros.

      @@samlangfield5651 I am from Romania, and I bought it from our most popular e-commerce website, eMAG, for around 400 bucks. In installments though. @gearupaaron - 1GB is kind of useless nowadays, however, I only used 5GB out of my 20GB in almost 3 months. I only use it when my SIM doesn't have good signal, and I switch to eSIM.

    Just to clarify, you can put in a sim card from your provider and just use your own data and not pay for their plans and it will work ?
    Uo in Canada we have unlimited data plans on some of our carriers amd if you go over the data limit you pay for, such as 20gb per month, they just lower your speed and you still get data with no limit....so this would still work fine as there's no limits correct?

      Yeah, there's a sim slot for that, especially to use your service as a hotspot if it doesn't already have that functionality by default.

    I looked at the plans and the cost is horrendous, ok convenience I get it. but I can grab a local sim anywhere and reduce my costs by 90% nice device.

      Your one SIM card limits you to a single carrier though. Base functionality gets you multiple carriers, so you can actually have more coverage and signal strength capabilities.

      This thing will die slowly becoz of the price will slowly die as phones now esim capable and you can get esim locally through online transaction

    Do you have a comparison or review with GlocalMe Numen Air 5g. I think the Solis device is manufactured by Acer and is identical to Acer Enduro 5g

      Negative on the GlocalMe. And yup, as mentioned in passing in the video, this is an Acer in other markets.

    Do you know if it actually connects to Verizon? I have the Solis Lite and it will ONLY connect to AT&T and T-Mobile. I know your device is the 5G model, but, that's why I'm asking.

    I'm going on a cruise in November, and it seems really expensive to pay for internet access, so I thought about buying this product. My question is, could I use it while I'm on the cruise?

      Great question, but unfortunately this works best on land in proximity with cell towers. So unless the ship is close enough to the coast with good reception, I don't think this will do.

      I take mine on cruises. I use it from about 7am to 7pm while the ship is docked at port, and while I'm exploring the port or on an excursion. Once the ship leaves port, I'm eating dinner, or at a show, or I'm sleeping, so I don't need Wi-Fi. You might need a plan for sea days, though.

      Sorta, but in this case, the service isn't provider-specific. It'll hop to the strongest signal possible no matter the data provider (Verizon, T-Mobile, etc.)

      @@michaelbrownlee9497 It's not the same as data roaming on phones - usually throughput is greatly reduced when you're out of network. This device (and others like it) just allow users to travel anywhere there is signal without worrying about what provider hinderences. It's most beneficial while crossing borders.

I mean if you had this plan on a phone with 5g, hotspot feature activated....is there something unique about it? like extended range, the ability to connect to satelites, better speeds, cooler, faster..gotta be something.

      @@michaelbrownlee9497Hotspotting on a phone typically has a cap, published or not, that’ll throttle you down at a defined usage level. And, as already pointed out, roaming for data is even more constrained and problematic as carrier interoperability agreements don’t require full speed obligations.

    Hi, I have a quick question. Is this network system is working in any country? Example if I travel to Africa now I don’t have a Sim if I purchase online unlimited data this will work or I have to buy a Sim? because I am really very sorry I’m confused exactly how it work?
    Let’s take an example if I buy this device and I buy a plan unlimited data this will work in in Dubai? Or in Africa, which is covered in this 135 countries?

      Yes, you pay for the service and you can use it in any country the plan supports - just note that this is for data only, not phonecalls.

    "They" promised that 5G was supposed to transmit data faster and more cheaper than LTE - yeah, right! My provider charges more for 5G. (lying bastards!). However, these Hot Spot devices do come in handy for travelers.

      Yes and no. If parked and have a solid 4/5G reception, you bet! But in transit, weak reception could definitely affect game throughput. Hope that helps some.

    I believe Acer M3's bands is targeted for EU, where as Solis 5G is targeting N. America bands.

      The Acer M3 is a global device, targeting almost any band (except Japan, because Japan's bands are a bit special).
      The M3 and Solis 5G both support the same bands and the M3 also has Solis.

      The antennas are good on this, but are just as dependent on how strong your service providers are in your area to begin with.

      No - you must have a solid cellular signal - the higher up you place the Solis the better to grab the signal
