- Hello Ladies & Gentlemen and as always, thank you for watching. This is another full 4K video!!! Today we are surprised to receive a call from a viewer and fan from out of state who is working a contract and needs a tow as well as some repairs. Ethan and I take the Little Pete #10 our Peterbilt 337 with a Miller Industries, Century 4024, 20 ton towing and recovery unit to get our new customer's truck back to our shop for repairs. No "ARC" nemesis, but it is raining...so I hope this qualifies as a decent Ron Pratt video. The nut came off the input shaft on the new power divider. Thankfully, the owner of the truck caught the problem before it created too much damage. We are able to get him back on the road and earning money, where he should be. You are blessed to have a son to drive so you can sit in the passenger seat. Let him drive all the time. Let him record videos. Let him do all the things. I lost my 28 year old son in August this year. He died of a traumatic brain injury when a car hit him while he was biking. We are in grief.
My sincere condolences. I understand grief as I lost my dad last year. However, I can't understand the grief of losing a child. My prayers are with you and your family. May God ease your pain and comfort you in your loss.
@@RonPratt Thank-you for your kindness. I lost my dad in 2019. I was devastated. I want to tell you that you have a very special youtube channel. Your outreach is further than you might expect. I have no words to describe the pain I experience over losing my son Jantzen. He was good and kind and a hard worker. I would have gladly taken his place if I could have. I have been completely humbled. God has me now where he needs me.
Again, I can't imagine what you are feeling. My wife and I were talking to a friend yesterday about how I was dealing with the loss of my dad. Even though it has been difficult, God has used that tragedy and grief to teach me and others. There are also some good things that have come from his death, such as a much stronger relationship between my mother and I. We may never understand the "why", but we can have faith that God will see us through and use such experiences as lessons to strengthen us and/or others.

If I was 52 years younger, I'd seriously think about having you teach me how to run a tow truck, not that I'd need much training, but the biggest thing I drove was a 20 ton fire truck.

That is good you got to meet another dan viewer. The 2 trucks I like seeing the most are
2006 WESTERN STAR 4900 night cab Heavy-Duty tandem-axle 35 ton wrecker tow truck.
2015 PETERBILT 389 day cab Heavy-Duty tri-axle 50 ton rotator tow truck.
Quite the transition from some of the early videos when Ethan went along, to videos like today's.
He used to come across as a kid that only tagged along because dad/grandpa made him.
Now he shows an active interest in the business.
I wish Ethan all the success that he strives for.

We are very proud of him. He has stepped up in so many ways that I am not able to show on the channel. We worked a triple fatality recently and he was an amazing asset to the team. At 19, he is pretty remarkable in my opinion. Thank you so much and God bless.

Hey Ron, love your videos. I do not know about out in your area but where I am at the problem with keeping stores open is not that people are not willing to work but the stores are not paying a living wage and the younger generations are not willing to roll over and take it like our generations did.
If you pay your staff more then you have to charge your customers more and most of them won't like that. In a free-market non-monopoly market customers can take their trade elsewhere which, in turn, threatens the viability of the business and the continuity of employment. On the other hand, underpaid staff are unhappy staff and that can adversely affect the customers too.
That is the new economy where we order our stuff on the computer and have it delivered is cheaper than operating a brick and mortar store........

I know it does feel strange being in the passenger seat but the more Ethan does things as next in command it will build confidence in his abilities to do other things. You want him to "take ownership" of the business at least on the know how side of things. But I have seen you work from the last 3-4 years you know how to give things up and you understand how to train others.

Enjoyed this video. Ethan is learning this profession well, from an excellent teacher. I enjoyed your conversation on the return trip. Just father and son having a good time talking about different things. Didn't solve any world problems but helped both of you bond better. I know one day Ethan will treasure moments like that. Ethan is learning pretty well. I've noticed his shifting has gotten a lot smoother. He just needs a little reminder about trying to stop or slow down when loaded on wet, snow or my least favorite, icy roads. Let's hope he remembers before mother nature teaches him the hard way.
Over all, he's doing a fine job on learning the family business. I'm sure within a few years, he'll be ready to take over for Dad like you did.

It is really sad how the country has really went to Hell. When I was a boy, my brother and I would mow lawns to make a few dollars. We'd drag that old mower all over town cutting sometimes as many as 10 yards a day on the weekends and during the Summer. I'd give a lot to see us heading back to those days.
