- A flight was conducted in a stormy environment. This aircraft is the avios bush mule, which is powered by a 3000 mAh 4S LiPo battery.
Flight Review:
The flight commenced across a field, achieving lift-off just before encountering rough terrain. Given the twin motors, I was interested in observing the flight duration with the 3400 mAh LiPo battery.
Upon landing, the battery indicated 33% charge remaining. The flight occurred under turbulent and less-than-ideal conditions. Throttle application was conservative to maximise battery life. A steep dive maneuver was executed without throttle, followed by a recovery close to the ground. This maneuver was then repeated with full flaps deployed.
During the landing sequence, flap deployment resulted in an unintended hard landing on the tarmac. The cause is uncertain; a miscalculation of airspeed is suspected. The right wing experienced a drop, leading to a pronounced sideslip. While taxiing back, an unexpected secondary lift-off occurred.
