RC T-28 Trojan high altitude: Flight Eight
The RC T-28 Trojan's got a 1400 mm wingspan, powered by a 6400mAh 4S lipo.
Flight Review:
So, I kinda rushed the takeoff and dropped back onto the runway right after. Got back up quickly, but that could've been a disaster if I'd clipped a wing or something. The plane handled the wind well though.
I did a loop and practiced stalls inverted. Used the headwind to climb for a good view. The plane was steady the whole time, even during the gliding descent and low flyby.
My first landing was a go-around - the plane just wouldn't come down. I'm working on keeping the throttle open on landing. Second try was good, landed on the runway but needed lots of tiny corrections to stay centered.....

The warbird is powered by a Dualsky 65Amp ESC 40E motor combo kit. With a 14x8 master aircrew propeller. Flight Review: Using a 5000mah 4S lipo, the plane was perfectly balanced with the go pro slightly further back. The plane with the smaller propeller took off with ease. I was really happy with the flight characteristics, so I did some precise aerobatic menouvers. It wasn't until I was flying...
RC Train Star: Flight Five

The train star is a high wing RC trainer aircraft. Powered by a 4s lipo. Flight review: In this flight, I try to follow the STS eflite apprentice. It takes flight well before me as I get rounded up into the long grass. At one stage, I just managed to flatten out when landing but get flipped onto the roof. The trainer was a bit bouncy in the wind. Overall, the new paint scheme flew well. I paint...

TALK TO ME GOOSE !!!
nice one
awesome!
lol but where's the parachute?!
Bro I thought this was real and I was like, "how do you accidentally eject from your plane?" And now I realized it was just an rc plane.
Fake
I think he likes warbirds 😅
Fly the twin engine
Okay good call!
Do a flip
do you guys think it was my fault that my mum voted for rishi sunak and hits minors
Excellent landing shot !
Did you see any of them pesky p-51s up there? ...
Not this time, but I'll make sure to film the dogfight when I do.
Any serious damage?
Only a small scrape, on the cowling. Could have been a lot worse.
I thought it was realbfor 2 seconds ... that thing takes off fast !
Se volevi atterrare cisti riuscito
Nice find
Let me guess it ends badly
Great two person view
Exciting esp with commentry
NOOO I’m sure it was a beauty before it crashed 😂
That's a cool plane. Did you make the details on that cockpit? Because if you did you did an amazing job.
I wish I had made this model. It's made by FMS and handles amazingly.
Nice one Calibration of height Unlikely that the drone is -20m
Ground level calibration is out, but can still see it tracking well
The low flying plane because of low lying cloud?
Spektrum'd ... shame, but not too bad on the damage. Great footage overall :)
Awesome man
Thanks!
Was it the computer servo? Aggressive dive
Noooooo😢 che peccato
T-28
The wing is a trapezoid wing. Measure your wing root chord and wing chord tip. Add your wing root chord and wing chord tip together and divide it by 2 and it will give you the mid wing chord. Then your cg will be at 25-30% of your mid chord from the leading edge. Assuming your mid wing chord is 10cm. 10cm÷100×25= 2.5cm. To 10cm÷100×30=3cm. Your cg will be at 2cm to 3cm.
The manual will tell you exactly where the CG is. With most of my builds, there are no manuals. The CG should be right behind the leading edge of the wing. Generally, depending on the size of plane it's anywhere from 1 - 3 inches from the leading edge. A nose heavy plane is easier to fly than a tail heavy one.
Thanks for the tips. I've always preferred nose heavy planes myself, too. I was gifted this balancer and wanted to try and find that perfect balance, between good speed and precision without affecting the ground handling and landings.
Two fingers under the wing where the CG supposed to be and done i dont need all the fancy equipment 😉
Mark the wing at the location indicated in the manual. With the airplane facing towards you, place an index finger on each wing exactly where you made the marks. Gently raise the airplane. When your RC airplane is perfectly balanced it will sit level on your fingertips with the nose just slightly downward.
Use tire weights flat ones with the adhesive back. Once you get the correct ounces you need epoxy them with some 5min mix. You don't want them coming loose when In flight. Your builders manual should tell you where the weight should be placed you could remove the wings and stick them behind the fuselage eventually spaced.
use metall balls/ steel bals
To find the center of gravity (CG) on an RC plane, you can use a balancing method where you place the plane on a support point, typically a thin rod or dowel, and adjust the position of the battery or other weights until the plane balances perfectly level, indicating the CG is directly over the support point; most importantly, consult your plane's manual for the recommended CG range. Key steps: Identify the reference point: Most RC planes have a marked "datum line" on the fuselage which serves as a reference point for measuring CG position. Balancing method: Support point: Place the plane on a thin rod or dowel, ensuring it is positioned at the recommended CG location according to the manual. Adjust weight distribution: If the plane tips forward, move the battery or other weights slightly backwards; if it tips backwards, move the weights slightly forward. Fine-tune: Once the plane balances perfectly level, mark the position of the battery or weights to maintain the correct CG. Important considerations: Manufacturer's recommendations: Always consult your RC plane's manual for the specified CG range, as this is crucial for stable flight. Weight distribution: Consider the weight of all components like the motor, battery, servos, and any added accessories when adjusting CG. Flying characteristics: If your plane is not flying as expected, slightly adjust the CG within the recommended range to achieve better stability. Alternative methods (less common): CG calculator: Some online tools allow you to calculate the CG based on the weight and position of individual components. Scale method: You can use a scale to measure the weight distribution of your plane and calculate the CG mathematically.
Thanks for the in-depth explanation. I've never used a calculator before. Great information and insights really appreciated.
Is this a australian air force plane
Sure is my version of one. Not based on any particular Mustang but a livery made up from images I've seen in books and online.
That’s sick
It's always interesting finding out something new in the hobby!
Great touch and go the view underside is awesome
Left wheel drooping 😢
@scottrobertson165 The left main landing gear must be bent back from some bad landings. It looks like its clashing with the wheel well.
Watch the wingtip stall, just like the real Harvard!
Pilot and cameraman all ok just a little shaken 👍
😂
whats that?folding prop? 😄
@VR46Monster Aeronaut 10x6 folding propeller. Aluminium spinner & carbon composite blades.
@@HarrysHobbies i tought it bent when you landed, i didnt know there is such thing😯
@@VR46Monster folding propeller is a great way to save yourself buying new motors all the time.
@@HarrysHobbies well i fly drones and i just count with that, that i cant go out in field without few spare props 😄 but its really nice to see that
Perfect landing.
This is what is called a foam lump. Its not a real model plane. A real model plane starts as paper plans or plans in a box of wood and involves an entire winter to build. That is an rc plane that gets "maiden" flights. This lump of chinese foam is not real. If you want to be a real rc pilot then show the maiden of your plane that you built. ARF's dont count.
@Thenheals That's funny, especially because it is a balsa model. I see a maiden as a first flight for any new plane to me. The front cowling is a combination of plastic, hand carved foam, and modge podge. Painted with hobby grade acrylics. I'm glad to hear from a passionate builder keep up the good work.
Overcorrected a left veer , hit left wing then broke prop and motor Mount :(
Lo del tren retráctil del p- 40 está muy bueno 👍👍

It was pretty impressive seeing it in real time too. Nice to meet you all yesterday.
Hope to see you around the club soon.
