Nice review, thanks. Is this a relatively lightweight guitar?

Hi Andy thanks for the complement! It is a bit lighter than any SG I’ve played in the past.

@@ogwstudios4910 Perfect, thank you. I’m looking for something that rocks but is lightweight for my ageing shoulders and back. This may fit the bill.

This won’t disappoint and sounds brilliant through most amps I’ve tried it with.

Is this the older body before they changed the body shape? And would you buy the pre wilkinson version or only the post wilkinsons? Where did you say you bought this one from? Cheers

This is the older body yeah, I personally have always liked the quality of Wilkinson hardware and pickups so wouldn’t say no to the Wilkinson version but in my experience even the non Wilkinson vintages are very good quality.
I got this in a trade with a local collector but they are stocked on Gear 4 Musics website.

@@ogwstudios4910 the newer ones have the newer shape. The offset horns.. So they arent equal like they were..and I think the neck is bound.. The older ones have the better shape although I think pre 2006 they didn't have the wilkinson hardware etc.. Just wondered what the non wilkinsons were like sound wise, or whether I need to look out for a wilkinson version... Cherry or black is the next question too ha 👍

@@julierobson2569 colour is always a tricky question however in this case I was lucky it’s black as I am a huge fan of Tony Iommi.
It’s a great guitar I have played a few SG’s and their other brand equivalents and this stands apart on its quality.

I would have to pick the Vintage over the Epiphone because the Epiphone is made in China.
