A lot of people think that this Deku is "cool" and that he should always be this way. But he's literally overworking himself, constantly on the move, super anxious and depressed, filthy, driving his body into the grave at Mach speed. And to top it all off, he's doing exactly what All For One predicted he would do. By creating a scenario where Tomura can find Izuku at all times, he's isolated himself to protect everyone. One of the things he thought during his fight with Shigaraki constantly was, "Don't be the useless Izuku who can't save anyone". He has the fear that if he isn't saving anyone that he's useless. His sense of self-doubt is through the roof that he's not thinking about his own worth. Seeing Bakugo(Deku's closest friend), Ochako, and Iida(his first friends in UA) being the ones to lead the charge to find him is so nice. Iida knows what it's like to charge forward at something with all your might, even if it's harmful and dangerous. He did that with Stain. Ochako knows that sometimes the people who save people need to be saved themselves and told they can rest. And Bakugo knows that Deku only finds self-worth when he's saving people and doesn't think about his own safety. And they all want to assure him that while he is needed, he also needs to know he can rest.
Exactly. All For One knew EXACTLY how this kid would respond, because he's almost certainly done this to others before to isolate them and wear them down; the bastard has been alive for over 100 years, and he's probably done this many, MANY times to other people. Izuku is undoubtably heroic for wanting to do carry it all, but he's still just a kid. This is a lot for a boy to handle, and the LAST thing he should be doing is going at this alone with no support, which is exactly what All For One wants. I just feel bad for All Might; he's getting a front seat to what Nighteye had to experience with HIM, and it's got to haunt him knowing how this is how his protégé felt.
deku's flaw is that he is so selfless he is hurting himself and to an extent the people who care about him. having to take responsibility for so much just as a 16 year old is so much pressure yet he still wants to keep going just to keep others safe. he is genuinely my favorite character of the show. also Bakugou finding deku is possibly one of the best people to find deku and get through to him because he really does know him best. shows his growth.
Deku "being selfish", even more so in this arc is one of the strangest things I've ever heard he is the target of enemies that can wipe out cities with one attack, obviously he doesn't want to be close to the ones he loves.
1 second Rob says “Nah Deku you better do it by yourself!” next second he calls Deku a clown for trying to do it by himself. Rob is the worst type of person
The hard pressed criticism of Deku is overwhelming. Duality is an ever present thing in MHA. You have to consider the gravity of the situation going directly up against AFO can most likely result in major casualties as it did before-AND-the fact that Deku’s current mindset (however noble) can get him captured. Vigilante Deku deserves appreciation!
Deku ain't a clown.. He's the purest hero. His choice to do it alone, though unrealistic and ultimately not going to beat AFO. IS the essence of a sacrificial hero. You realize he's a 16 year old kid in a 10x more dire situation than even All Might was when he was going against AFO. To keep saying Deku's character is selfish after all this is insane at this point... He's selfless, if even to a fault, that's true. But him separating himself from UA, is NOT selfish. Him going alone and suffering is NOT selfish lmao. He played a role player during the "war" arc, gave heroes months to organize against Shigi and AFO, used everyone's help. And they FAILED. It's completely reasonable for him to think no one can help him at this point, regardless of if that's true.
It's not just that he's stubborn. Nobody can keep up with him, so he feels like if he stops now, there's gonna be many people hurt. Which to be fair is a reasonable concern, I mean think about the insane number of prison breaks, including a Tartarus prison break.
I get what he is saying, though. Like him not considering how they feel even if he wants to protect him. But the core is from him being selfless with his intentions.
@Terry King The core of him is being selfless though, but you can twist is around to see it as selfish too. But Rob acting like the core of it as selfish isn't right.
@@raec5426 he considers how they feel ? that’s one thing about midoriya that’s always been prominent. He feels as if he needs to do this own his own, which isn’t selfish at all.
People wanted *"cool"* Deku, but this is him at the cost of his physical and mental health. He's "sucked it up" and now emotionally constipated. It's a reminder that pretending that you're fine all the time and starving yourself emotionally isn't necessarily the strength you may think it is... actually it could be quite the opposite as a weakness that eats at you internally.
*To clarify:* I like depression Deku period for interesting character exploration, but I mean to those who idealized this image *too much* as he should always be this way. That's like wanting Thorfin in Vinland Saga to remain as his S1 self because it was cool to see him killing people, even if it was unhealthy for him mentally.
It was a joke how some people thought Bakugo was gonna be the Sasuke of the group before, but more unexpectedly in a different way, it turned out to be Deku. lol
Deku isn't a villain, he is going against class 1-A because he wants them to be safe. He thinks that pushing them away is the best option here. But that's not the case here, and Bakugou led this group along side Uraraka and Iida to save him. So excited for you guys to watch the next episode, as a manga reader here hehe >:)
Deku actually wasn't being selfish what's crazy is he literally was working together with other heroes but then after what happened to Lady nagant and what all for one said he started feeling the real pressure of what he has to deal with
Basically deku acting like Rob cuz he always wanna fight everybody cuz he believes his point of view is the right point of view so Rob calling him a clown is basically the equivalent to watching himself in the mirror
It’s not stupid. It’s just a different value. Deku made the conscious decision to win or die alone rather than risk the life of those he loves. What’s the difference between this and someone staying back to hold off enemies, as you friends escape? It’s perspective
It is in fact NOT the student associations job to be heroes, under the law, they've only acquired their provisional licenses that allow them to practice hero work under supervised Heroes All of which are assisting Deku. Deku IS working with the people who DO have the job of heroes, if anything, he wields more clearance in telling the students to stay out of the fight based on his nature of position in comparison to theirs. He's the strongest person alive, working in a secret ops Org with all of the top heroes. His classmates are students who've been sidelined, still in their first year of school...
Deku has started to get paranoid about how much harm he will bring to those who are around him after All for One vows to break him. That’s why he’s been avoiding those around him and fighting nonstop without resting
Exactly, and his classmates finally caught up to a tired, exhausted, wounded, SELFLESS hero whom they all love and care about very much. But he is NO LONGER thinking straight. Clear-headed Midoriya would easily hear them out, had he been rested, but he hasn't slept in several days. He's been running on fumes 24/7, with injuries that would put out most other heroes and his current appearance is a testament to that. & he's very much near a breaking point.
Just saying. Deku left all might because the more he can control his power, the more he wants to get away from others because of what happened to Lady Nagaunt. What happened to her made him be more careful, and want to keep others away from possible bombs / traps. He's separating himself for others, not himself.
Pat: "His outfit never looked that cool before. Why does it look that weird to me?" It's the eyes. Deku's ragged custom with the worn-out mask and mouthguard gives him a sinister appearance, but it's the dark green eyes behind the masks that make him look fierce. Ironically, he resembles All Might more now than the time he was actually trying to copy him back in Season 1. "Next it's your turn." Whether it's from All Might or AFO, those words have become a curse for Deku. At least he has dependable friends to snap him out of his Black Suit Spider-Man phase.
*I’m just going to leave this here. I wouldn’t be surprised if Kacchan’s tie was secretly a clip on. And the only reason he doesn’t wear ties is just because he secretly doesn’t know how to make them work.*
Calling Deku selfish is the biggest L take you could EVER have lmao. His whole character flaw is he is selfLESS to a fault, to the point where he doesn’t care about himself if he can save everyone else. And to add, Deku isn’t wrong for going off solo and not resting. The 2nd user of OFA confirms this episode that it’s smart for him to not stay still; that’s the consequence of having AFO on your neck. He just needed people he can trust and rely on, friends, but in Deku’s eyes they are not strong enough to fight AFO with him so keeping them away keeps them safe.
he also technically cant really rest when there's so many hired guns finding him literally everywhere, lady nagant found him while he was BW slinging through the rain in the dark and yet she found him and the puppet dude literally found him a few seconds after he fell to his knees, mans really cant get rest
what they said was 100% right though when they said hes so selfless that hes selfish. hes not taking into account the feelings of his friends and classmates ect. he's literally gone full circle.
@@YoungLiam74 No thats being selfless to a fault, not selfish. He is considering how they feel, except the REALITY of the situation w/ch is something thats been constantly pushed right in every1's faces, is that they cannot keep up. This is proven even further in the manga where every1 got trashed by Shig & it took a lot & I do mean a LOT, MOST of the heroes forces to be infact, just to keep up w/ a rapidly weakening AfO. Deku's fault in this is thinking he can handle all villains when he cant & the heroes can in fact lighten his burden.
He is in a nuanced way. His decision to refuse help is selfish because it makes it seem like he thinks he’s the only one with a reason to want to fight All for One. He thinks being the One for All holder means he has to shoulder this burden alone. But everyone in the country has lost something because of AFO. And not even all might in his prime was enough to beat him. Deku needs help if he’s gonna win, and it’s selfish of him to assume that everyone should sit back and let him carry on alone. He’s doing a selfless act for a selfish reason.
When all might was a hero from what we’ve seen he did everything he was HIM endeavor wasn’t close to competing, and if you inherited the power that made someone practically a GOD you would act like you can do everything too cause your predecessor could do everything
When Hawks said he knew the one thing deku needs I instantly figured friends. As an infj we can't really do too well without them. I push my friends away too sometimes unintentionally, but they always check for me. Then I get in an elated strength. It's like the "my friends are my power," kingdom hearts quote.
I feel like we miss out on good discussions because Rob has to make everything antagonistic to the point the others don't want to agree with what he says.
If he felt like he just needed to save the day, and wanted the glory of being the "Savor" he wouldn't be wearing a mask. Also, I think he knows what he's doing is selfish which is another reason for writing the letters to everyone and not being able to face them. He knew they'd probably try to stop him, but in his own stubbornness he also knew they couldn't stop him. Someone else in the comments said Deku is selfless to a fault. And that's pretty much what this arc is highlighting. He wants to protect everyone even to the point of where he's willing to push them away to protect them. He even says it in this episode. "I have to do this so everyone can smile again" 2 weeks straight this man just been giving hands with no rest and no shower and only a few candy bars (they didn't show that in the anime). Edit: Also, it's not him just getting help from the top Heros lol. Deku knows as well as Endeavor and the rest of them that Deku HAS to be alone in order to draw out AFO. That's why they've been keeping a distance and have the GPS on him. They want to tell him to take it easy but they know that the longer this goes on the worse it could end up.
Rob saying at the start "he is not number one for a reason" low-key made me mad like he has DONE so much more than what Endeavor did like whaat? Always trying to find excuses. . .
People forget all the stress this 16 year old is under. All the heroes that died, hurt, or quit; the state of society now, all for one and his primary goal for his quirk, the entire show of All might telling him he needs to be ready. He’s literally going thru depression while still saving lives and being the hero he feels he needs to be. Sacrificing himself for the greater good is nothing new, I mean the kid broke his fingers and arms just to try to win a contest
Rob.... Deku wants to fight his friends to keep them away for their safety. He doesn't care about his own body but for everyone else, he'll do everything. It's not hard to understand lmao
At this point I think Rob would kiss Endeavor’s boots for covering his mouth when he coughs. I can’t even be annoyed though, since the amount of blind Endeavor praise is honestly really funny. 😅 Plus I’m pretty sure it’s kinda ironic.
dang jerry you made me think, i just realized all might pointed back at deku saying “it’s your turn” and now realizing all for one basically said the same thing in this episode. i understand dekus pressure, L rob
Bro imagine how paranoid Deku was, to the point where he didn't feel good about even standing close to All Might for 30 seconds. Kid is under some shit
Moment of truth is next week. I can't wait for Rob's counter arguments regarding Deku and his drawbacks. Soon he'll run out of excuses just like when they reacted to Naruto Shippuden & Long Piece.😁
I see, so luffy attacking kaido out of emotions and endangering their whole plan is also a clown. this dude just hate deku character while he fangirl on the most careless and dumb Character out there🤷♂️.
There goes the hater, regardless class 1a wants to Dekku back so even if he didn’t want to fight them, he would try to run away from them and realistically he doesn’t want too I know regardless you guys are gonna have something to say negative even before this arc starting with dark Deku is, he is still goated
@Joe Mama, you're straight right. Rob clearly is only watching for Shoto Todoroki and his ignorance is showing. The fact that he was all like "Why Bakugo?? Second-rate Vegeta says it all. This man doesn't think about anything past his own views and it wouldn't be as bad if he would listen to the others around him with an open mind instead of cutting them off, and all around just being rude. Homie needs to stay in his corner. Bakugo being the one to spot Deku first was perfect and all-around needed. This season has been highlighting Bakugo's desire to apologize and reconcile with Deku for all his past transgressions but he clearly doesn't know how to go about it. So the fact that he found him when the second user said all Deku really need is a FRIEND was terrific. Next from season one through now, the focus on Deku's character has ALWAYS been focused the fact that Deku puts everyone and everything before himself. He has continuously destroyed and risked losing function in his arms once it came to the saving or betterment of someone else. He did it in the fight against Shoto to make him use his fire, he did it against Muscular to save the little boy, and he did it again in the fight against Shigaraki. If it means saving or keeping someone safe then Deku is going to go to the extreme to ensure that others are okay. Now Deku and the heroes know that giving All for one and the league of villains time to gather themselves would spell disaster for the whole of Japan. Then when you add the fact that Night Eye said Almight would die a horrible death if he continued on and Deku now knows that All for One specifically has his sights set on him, Deku is afraid that Almight will be killed if he remains by his side. They went as far as slipping night saying as such into the Deku/Almight scene in this episode. Deku left U.A. so that All for One doesn't target the school just to get him. All for one has shown he will use whatever AND whoever to get his way. So this 16-year-old boy who probably would lose himself if someone he cared for died, now has all this pressure to step up and help defeat all for one all the while knowing that the suffering and pain people are enduring is because of him. This isn't about Deku being Selfish, it's about Deku being on the extreme end of the spectrum when it comes to being SELFLESS. To the point that he is an extreme danger to himself. Does Deku have fault hell yea!! But being selfish is NOT one of them. So go sit down Rob
Rob won’t be happy next week when the whole class has butterfingers and deku maneuvers and breaks out of every attack with with ease after not resting or eating in days. He literally tells the entire class “you cant keep up, so please get out of my way.” Or something like that idk.
Seeing the change in arcs between Death Arms and Mt Lady, based on how they're portrayed in the first episode: it makes me realize that Fire Hydrant guy kinda vanished!
I don't see deku as a clown for trying to do stuff on his own even if he does end up fighting with his friends because at the end of the day it is his fight and how he decides to go about it is his own choice. Even if objectively speaking from the outside looking in he needs help and friends , them forcing their opinion on him is just as bad as him forcing his opinion on them. You can't call him a clown for trying to accomplish his goal and not allowing his friends to stop him or restrain him because they don't agree with his methods.
They're saying rest yet a villain that can disintegrate the whole city under him while he sleeps is out there... understandable for him to try to act like a lonewolf a lot of superheroes go down this road at some point. Not some clown shit just him being too selfless to where it's self-destructive.
As I get further into the video he says it's not all about him which is hilarious because the entire show is about him.... If Rob's ultimate goal is to be here to make sure that people make comments against his inaccurate accusations about characters and their motives then these guys are going to be rich lol
Rob would actually be right here surprisingly if he wasn’t using his point to prove Deku being a “clown”. He is correct that Midoryia is being selfish by forcing his friends to be excluded when they choose to be with him and he is being stubborn for still standing against them now. However, this is not where you should just jump to criticize him. It’s a place to find empathy. Why does he feel he needs to do these things? It really emphasizes just how much the pressure of his power is crushing him.

Woah that’s a lot
Rob just one of them people that watch the show and miss the whole plot💀😂
He just hates characters. Just waits to get any chance and starts talking nonsense
Deku "being selfish", even more so in this arc is one of the strangest things I've ever heard he is the target of enemies that can wipe out cities with one attack, obviously he doesn't want to be close to the ones he loves.
And the fact the majority of the class 1a is trash and can’t hang with Deku

1 second Rob says “Nah Deku you better do it by yourself!” next second he calls Deku a clown for trying to do it by himself. Rob is the worst type of person
Bro this man Rob dedication to hate for no reason is unmatched. He decides from day one , of an anime if he gonna hate someone no matter what they do.
Dude in the green spoke the truth 🗣🗣🗣
The reason Deku is acting "selfish" is due to the large amounts of pressure around him
The hard pressed criticism of Deku is overwhelming. Duality is an ever present thing in MHA. You have to consider the gravity of the situation going directly up against AFO can most likely result in major casualties as it did before-AND-the fact that Deku’s current mindset (however noble) can get him captured. Vigilante Deku deserves appreciation!
@@raec5426 I absolutely agree! I wish Rob would give him a chance aside from cool fight scenes
It's not just being stubborn, it's mental trauma.
Ima be real, I thought the first half of this was about Rob being stubborn until you talked about prison breaks.
@@GingerDwarf LMAO
Rob won’t be too happy to see him break free of and maneuver the entire classes attacks for 20 minutes after not eating or resting for several days.
that’s exactly how it was with all might. he was the top hero for years and when he even stopped being all might there was a big change
It’s tragic Jerry doesn’t know his own favorite character 😅 calling Midoriya selfish in any capacity is like calling Luffy Einstein.
I get what he is saying, though. Like him not considering how they feel even if he wants to protect him. But the core is from him being selfless with his intentions.
@@raec5426 Exactly, Deku in an effort to be selfless (protect his friends) makes a selfish choice (leave), but that selflessness is hurting him.
@Terry King The core of him is being selfless though, but you can twist is around to see it as selfish too. But Rob acting like the core of it as selfish isn't right.
@@raec5426 That's why we don't listen to Rob 🤣🤣
You gotta quit spamming this comment on every reaction channel lmao

Emotional Constipated Deku > Emotional Diarrhea Deku….. ALL DAY, EVERYDAY
It was a joke how some people thought Bakugo was gonna be the Sasuke of the group before, but more unexpectedly in a different way, it turned out to be Deku. lol
In the dub Bakugo says “You busted ass All Might Wannabe” which is just, man that is heavy
Don’t forget Rob originally said it’s called the “Dark Deku” arc because he thought Deku was going to hide the entire time
Deku isn't a villain, he is going against class 1-A because he wants them to be safe.
Pat agrees with Rob on everything. Likes he's afraid to be on his bad side like in the past.
Deku changes from Precious cinnamon roll into a Green Demon of Death
Why does it look that weird to me?"
It's the eyes.
Bokugo literally said he doesn’t think about him self when he was talking to endevour
Yeah they watch the episode with their eyes closed apparently
*I’m just going to leave this here. I wouldn’t be surprised if Kacchan’s tie was secretly a clip on. And the only reason he doesn’t wear ties is just because he secretly doesn’t know how to make them work.*
“Bakugo’s gonna end up knocking him out” funniest thing I’ve heard all day
Bakugo: * gives him a hug *
I had to laugh out loud
Calling Deku selfish is the biggest L take you could EVER have lmao. His whole character flaw is he is selfLESS to a fault, to the point where he doesn’t care about himself if he can save everyone else.
And to add, Deku isn’t wrong for going off solo and not resting. The 2nd user of OFA confirms this episode that it’s smart for him to not stay still; that’s the consequence of having AFO on your neck. He just needed people he can trust and rely on, friends, but in Deku’s eyes they are not strong enough to fight AFO with him so keeping them away keeps them safe.
You mean selfish it seems. For the first part I mean of the comment.
he also technically cant really rest when there's so many hired guns finding him literally everywhere, lady nagant found him while he was BW slinging through the rain in the dark and yet she found him and the puppet dude literally found him a few seconds after he fell to his knees, mans really cant get rest
Endeavor #1 for a reason” yes default, yes number one by default not bc he earned it lmao
Rob is tripping talking about I'm a grown man and can make my own decisions, bruh they are highschool kids not adults. They aren't even seniors
Deku "is selfish" is a wild take from this episode and shows that certain folks clearly don't understand his character at all
what they said was 100% right though when they said hes so selfless that hes selfish. hes not taking into account the feelings of his friends and classmates ect. he's literally gone full circle.
They can't be helped because they are childish.
"I have to do this so everyone can smile again"
2 weeks straight this man just been giving hands with no rest and no shower and only a few candy bars (they didn't show that in the anime).
You gotta remember, Deku is only like 15/16 right now. Imagine the mental stress this event puts on a kid...
"He is not number one for a reason."
I thought Rob was against characters getting hand-outs.
the author had to make Deku physically exhausted, mentally exhausted, for the whole class have a chance against him.
Calling deku selfish is the stupidest thing ever, he is literally killing himself to save the whole of Japan, what part of selfish is that.
At this point I think Rob would kiss Endeavor’s boots for covering his mouth when he coughs. I can’t even be annoyed though, since the amount of blind Endeavor praise is honestly really funny. 😅
Plus I’m pretty sure it’s kinda ironic.

lowkey starting to hate rob at this point
This is the moment I have been waiting for. This isn’t a fight to beat Deku. It’s a fight to save him from himself.
bro, i swear I can't stand Rob, he always got something to say about Deku, he a damn Kid.
RIP Death Arms' pro career, he was the only one who actually did his job during the raid
Rob won’t be happy next week when the whole class has butterfingers and deku maneuvers and breaks out of every attack with with ease after not resting or eating in days. He literally tells the entire class “you cant keep up, so please get out of my way.” Or something like that idk.

I'll subscribe to Rttv the second they kick out Rob's ass.
