Surfing in the sixties was more than just a hobby, it was a way of life. Despite the stigma that surfers didn't want to work, I knew that my passion for riding waves would always be a priority. The Vietnam war may have threatened to take me away from the ocean, but I made a choice to stay true to myself. The war may have dumped a heavy load on me, but I found strength in my decision. Surfers will always find a way to pursue their passion, no matter the circumstances
