Vanguard was the hardest and I am surprised you completely missed it. 70 levels per gun and the challenges where almost if not worse then cold wars. Don't get me started on the Launchers when the game released. Shooting uavs with a launcher that couldn't shoot past 25 meters and even if you SOMEHOW hit the target they didn't track.
I know this video is just MP, but the Dark Matter grind for BO4 Zombies was BRUTAL. You have to get: Up to 3600 HEADSHOTS 2000 Pack-A-Punch kills, 2000 kills with 5 attachments + and optic, 2000 kills with NO attachments, 50 Heavy Zombies kills, and 10 Mini-boss kills. To put it in perspective, If you play on Solo on Normal difficulty, you will get 3600 Zombies to spawn by Round 45. By that time, the Zombies will have maximum health and be Super Sprinting, so most weapons will have fallen off by then. You cannot start off with most weapons, so you either have to buy them off the wall or from the Mystery Box, which is RNG. You CANNOT get all the camos in one game regardless, due to the camos for 5 attachments and no attachments. ALSO you can't work on any other camo challenge UNTIL you get all of your headshots done. This is BY FAR the hardest camo grind in Zombies and is one I will probably never finish, due to how agonizing it is.
I did a dark matter on BO3 and didn’t finish it until like August. It was cool to finish it but I never even bothered to do it again since. I’d rather just play the way I want to play.
@@Deathmare235I think you had to unlock gold cheetah and gold leopard for every gun in the game with the vast majority requiring multikills (double kills for cheetah and triple kills for leopard). And on top of that, you needed to unlock chrome camo as a pre-requisite (unlock diamond camo for every base weapon in the game)
Vanguard should be the number one. Get weapon to level 60, get 50 kills with two spesific attachments. Get weapon to level 71. Get 50 longshots while proning with two spesific attachments. List goes on.
Yeah regal wasn't even hard exclusion zone was the hardest camo challenge ever don't care what nobody says even with people boosting for the camo it took weeks to months to get just by boosting it was insane

I'm a moderately new cod player (I have gone back to enjoy the "golden era" of campaigns and zombies) and was moderately surprised to see interstellar on this list as interstellar and borealis are my first mastery camos ever. Excited to see BO6 camos and even more excited to get them
I will agree with you on the number 1 spot. I still play BO1. With no support, some severs will delete all of your prestige. I've been to lvl 15 prestige 3 times. And have had golden guns on at least 6 guns that I use. So now back working on the grind again!
I think you mixed the word "hardest" for "longest" camo grinds. MW2 and MW3s camo grinds were hard because there were so many weapons, but the challenges werent difficult. Vanguard and MW19 were by far the hardest because there were a lot of weapons and mind numbingly boring and tedious challenges you had to while playing in sweatfest SBMM lobbies. B01 and MW3 (2011) were not hard at all, they just required you to grind - which was easy because the games were actually enjoyable.
I agree with you on that, mw3 2011 and bo1 was the easiest to get gold in the game. I prefer leveling up the weapon or hitting a certain prestige level to get the best looking camo
i got all gold weapons in BO1 and got dark matter in BO3. And although BO1 was definitely the longest grind the fact that the game was so fun and you didnt need to do a ton of specific challenges made it ok. all you had to do is play the game and eventually you'd get there
the bo4 dark matter camo changed colors too...for someone who has played cod as long as you and covered the game as long as you have...you should know that. they even had to nerf one of the phases because it was so bright.
I really wish that cod would go back to og camo challenges where it just requires a lot of weapon xp. Or at least simplify the challenge, penetration kills, mounting, and shortly after reloading were my least favorites. I would want them to stick to head shots, long shots, point blanks, hip fires, prone kills, sliding kills, crouch kills, multi kills, and ads kills.
@clownworld4655 more than I thought, I thought they would stick to the current system and if they simplified it, they would have more than one type like head shots, long shots, point blank, and hip fire. Just head shots is a major W.
Of these camo grinds I got BO4 Dark Matter, MW 2019 Damascus (and several guns with Obsidian), MWII Orion and MWIII Interstellar. BOCW lost me with the “get kills on people affected with tacticals” since almost everyone was running Tac Mask, making the challenge virtually impossible. I gave up on Vanguard after getting gold on the PPSH with those freaking long shots (had to go into hardcore, and it still was a massive pain). Personally I hope they bring back reactive mastery camos, BO4 had some of my favorites.
Not necessarily a camo, but the Weapons Master Exo Suit in Advanced Warfare is extremely difficult to obtain. To get this, you’d have to earn Royalty Camo on every weapon in its class. The Launchers had damn near impossible challenges. Shooting down UAV’s and Paladins with the Mayhem and MAAWS was brutally painful.

I was a psycho in bo3. I got dark matter. Then went and got dark matter on every single dlc weapon. I got Damascus, dm ultra/dark aether, and just finished dark matter in bo6. About to start the zombies camo grind.
I'm really surprised that although Black Sky was included, MW2019 Obsidian, the Season 5 & 6 MW3 Prestige camos, Atomic, and Chrome Tiger weren't even considered

I would like to see the evolution of the call of duty zombies for each call of duty game or at least rank each zombies game mode in every call of duty it appears in because I dont think you've covered the call of duty zombies modes yet
Even though I played BO1 since 2018, I had no clue you had to grind THAT much in online MP just to earn Gold camo on every weapon. I mainly played MP against bots in Combat Training, so that's why I didn't care about Gold camo in that game.
Interstellar is very very easy to get, less than 1 month and got it. The really hard one was the Damascus, those 4 launchers still gave me nightmares……

I dont know if this can be cateforized, but bo4 zombies dark matter. Took forever, constantly restarting games for the welling and essex. WW2 chrome tiger is a lengthy grind as well
Why is it that when the games started leaning more into realism, they all had a rediculous amount of challenges, and not just for camos, but in order to unlock streaks and equipment (attachments and lethals and tacticals) too? I swear, the armory unlocks systems in the current game + the weekly challenges is the dumbest decision Infinity Ward ever made! We should not have to complete challenges for things that are normally earned by level up!! 😤😤😡😡
I felt like Damascus deserved to be higher. Was such a long grind. I mean there were like 100 longshots required on each weapon. Would be HUNDREDS of hip fire kills per weapon, even LMGs.
I think that’s why they made gold camis easier to obtain in later games after BO1 knowing how frustrating it was to get. Kind of like getting shiny Pokémon in the newer games in compared to the older ones beofre X and Y
As an OG cod player give me the MW3 2011 or the black ops 1 over anything else on this list I still fire up BO1 with all the gold guns the good ol days
I’m not entirely sure if it counts or not but the true number 1 is cod mobile it’s camo grind is absolutely ridiculous there is 20 plus ARS, 20 plus SMGS. The grind for the camos is insane just to get diamond you have to play 150 matches with 10 or more kills. That’s the true number 1 for hardest camo grinds
There’s a lot and I mean A LOT but a “top 10 prestige emblems from (insert franchise here) ex. Black ops or original MW series” there’d be a lot of crazy polling to get to the bottom of the top ten

honourable mention COD Mobile Damascus you have to get gold in all 100+ guns and every month they add 1 or 2 new guns to your list, besides the grind in some of the weapons is extreme painful like the shorty, the NA-45 and the launchers it took me around a whole year with a few pauses in between to get Damascus
Mw2 was so easy idk how y'all could find it hard tbh. Shipment 24/7 you could finish a gun each game basically and for levels there was very good game modes for levels + decoys

You don't get regal in MWR by getting everything gold, thats how you get Exclusion Zone. You get Regal by getting one class of weapons gold.

As someone that has gotten mastery camo on every game I can confidently say that Damascus is top 3 hardest grind

As an OG cod player give me the MW3 2011 or the black ops 1 over anything else on this list I still fire up BO1 with all the gold guns the good ol days
What I did to get gold camo in Black Ops 1 was when I got 10k cod points I went to play high roller wager matches.

I’m not entirely sure if it counts or not but the true number 1 is cod mobile it’s camo grind is absolutely ridiculous there is 20 plus ARS, 20 plus SMGS. The grind for the camos is insane just to get diamond you have to play 150 matches with 10 or more kills. That’s the true number 1 for hardest camo grinds
There’s a lot and I mean A LOT but a “top 10 prestige emblems from (insert franchise here) ex. Black ops or original MW series” there’d be a lot of crazy polling to get to the bottom of the top ten
Have you ever thought of doing rank videos for zombies (best guns for each cod zombies maps, all wonder weapons, maybe even best zombies game in cod, zombie types and characters) I would love to see any of your thoughts on zombies. you have to get gold in all 100+ guns and every month they add 1 or 2 new guns to your list, besides the grind in some of the weapons is extreme painful like the shorty, the NA-45 and the launchers it took me around a whole year with a few pauses in between to get Damascus

Mw2 was so easy idk how y'all could find it hard tbh. Shipment 24/7 you could finish a gun each game basically and for levels there was very good game modes for levels + decoys
bo4 dark matter was way more hard than mw3 intersteller. you could use dlc weapons to skip launchers or melees. etc
