Thanks for watching the video. We hope you enjoyed and got inspired to visit Europe by train! Be sure to compare hotel prices and check the Instant savings and Reward nights at Hotels where you can find out more in our Blog: www.discoveringdestinations.com/use-hotels-com-for-trips/
Good vid. A few things of note. One of the other advantages of trains is you can drink on them. Always nice knowing you can tilt a few and not have to worry about driving. :) Also, make sure when you first get it validated that it gets stamped or it's considered invalid and you'll have to pay the fare for that first trip - it's happened to a few people I know. That - with the lost pass insurance - is pretty a pretty sleazy money grab on Eurail's part considering it's the digital age. They should have their app record trips and times too. Still filling it in manually is so last millennium.
Thanks for the tips and recommendation. We took the pass insurance as a precaution but never needed to use it. The RFID safety pouch came in really handy for that ! Safe travels !
Thanks a bunch for the comment. We are happy to hear you liked the content of the video and we hope all info could help you out. Cheers and great trips for you 😊🙏🏻
Great video! I was hoping if you had touched on the pricing a bit mentioning the date as prices do change based on the time of travel. The price can be used as a factor in determining value of the pass vs number of times it will be used. Just my 2 cents! Thanks for sharing your experience.
Hi Franco, Thanks for bringing up this point. Apologies for not answering sooner. Talking about prices would be difficult since there are so many combination of passes available for Eurail. There are some for one, two, three countries plus various length. Plus as you've mentioned the price is subject to change. You bring a good point however, and we'll try to see how we could incorporate it to a future video. Thanks, Serge & Eli
Thanks for the comment Michael. Yes, we definitely wanted to maximize the pass so we moved along very quickly. The downside however, is that we wish we'd spend more time in select cities such as Bratislava and Salzburg ! Thanks for watching !
What about now is the eurail tickets coming in our email?? And how did u activated the eurail pass ?? Do we have to activate in the first station that we travel.
Hi there! We're not sure to understand your first question. Are you referring to online bookings where you receive your ticket reservation online/by email ? Correct, to activate your pass simply head to any rail station and speak with an agent. Sometimes you can find one roaming the grounds (instead of waiting in line).
Hi, thanks for the comment. We are not sure that it's a bad thing. We took the paper pass when we travelled and ended up taking the insurance to reprint it in case we lost it. Alternatively, the virtual pass should be better since it's always accessible online. Is this what you were talking about ? Thanks, Serge & Lia
Krzysztof Mańkowski we very much enjoyed Warsaw ! Thanks for asking. We also managed to visit Krakow during our visit. Next time we would like to visit the north, unless... where would you recommend that we visit in Poland ? Thanks
I have one question . We will be traveling g from Brussels to Lyon to colmar to Interlaken to Freiburg and back to Brussels. My Q is in these cities that we will stay . Can we use the Eurail to take day trips and back with the pass ?
Hi Diego ! Thanks for your question and that sounds like a great travel itinerary ! Yes you can use the Eurail for day trips and round trips, to make your way back to Brussels in the end. We see that Eurail has changed their site since our purchase, that said, you might want to explore the Global Pass and select the amount of travel days you'll need. The beauty of the day trip is that it requires only one travel day. We had the continuous 2 month Global Pass which meant we were not limited by travel days. However, we used the pass for day trips from Munich to Füssen and Paris to Versailles (as examples). We'll be making another video soon on 'how to use the application for trips'. Stay tuned and feel free to get back in touch if you have more questions. Cheers !
Hello Andre, We don’t believe so since EuRail is a third party. You could however purchase online and select etickets. Hope this helps, yet feel free to message us again if you have more questions. Thanks, Serge & Lia
hey, I have a question, when filling out train destinations, do I just put my main destination I’m reaching, or do I need to fill out all the changes between to my main destination. Also, can I fill out whole thing ahead of time with all my destinations.
Hey Sean! Thanks for your question. We would recommend that you fill out the destinations where you are getting off the train. We documented any layovers or connections. For example, our trip from Strasbourg, FR to Interlaken, SW needed 3 separate trains. We documented each train with the time & train#. Also, We don’t recommend that you fill the document in advance, in case your itinerary changes 😉. Hope this helps, feel free to get back in touch if you have further questions ! Cheers
@@DiscoveringDestinations Sweet! thanks for advice, we are taking ICE train frome paris to frankfurt, we need to reserve seat which was 13 euros but that train is covered correct? Also we will be taking a sleeper train called Night jet from zurich to berlin, reservation was about 40 euros but it is included as well correct?
@@sean4752 Cool ! Glad our answer could help you. From our experience, most trains require a reservation in France and they have some of the most expensive fees. However the ICE train should be cheaper than the TGV, which is what we took and paid around 30E. We also never took a sleeper train but the price for your Night jet sounds about right. Just make sure the reservation tickets match up with your Eurail Pass. Berlin is amazing, some of the tastiest food during our 2017 tour - ruclips.net/video/dSy380ryfmE/видео.html - one area we really liked was Nicolaiviertel and Oranienburger st (near Anne Frank Zentrum). ENJOY !
Hey ! how are you doing ? The big question around Eurail is whether or not to get it because reservation fees can get expensive. If you watch the next video, we explain how we got around taking reservation required trains :). However, they're almost impossible to avoid when travelling in France :( Hope this answers your question. Feel free to reach out again if you have any more questions! We're also revamping our blog at DiscoveringDestinations.com in case you would like to check ;)
Wow, that's a good question. Although we're not entirely sure, we believe that there are no restrictions to purchase the pass. We know that you must have a Passport or Visa that gives you access to the countries you plan to visit. Because you will need to show the passport when you initially validate it and must carry it with you during your trips to show on board agents upon request. Another thing you can do is create a profile on Eurail.com with your credentials and see if it allows you to fully subscribe and continue to the purchase page. Hope this helps :)

@Kade Kyson no problem =)
