I appreciate hearing from an older mom. So many of the plant based videos I see are with a much younger RUclipsr. The challenges in our later years to remove weight are real and often we do not know precisely why we are at a plateau. I have had plateaus being totally compliant and also when I'm not totally compliant. I have removed 30 pounds over 11 months and I am happy about that. But the food and what it does for my mind and body are the critical elements and it's what keeps me eating WFPB. Those 15 to 25 pounds that still need to be removed will take another year and I have accepted this. Process and progress, not perfection, and continuing to plan, prep and eat WFPB foods are what I focus on. Thanks for the mummy tips. Linda
loved hearing from your mom ! i'm post menopausal and overweight. That , along with pain from arthritis keeps me from exercising. I walk when i can but its usually only for about 15 minutes. Some days, yoga even hurts. It can be frustrating. Staying positive is a great tip! I need to remember that daily.
Exactly!! Eat food that doesn't have labels. I have a pantry full of various root veg, grains, legumes, and lentils, a windowsill full of microgreens, and a garden full of veggies and fruit. Cook real food. It takes only slightly more time to cook fresh food than to open a can or bag. I also don't have a set day for prep. I cook enough for a few days and rotate through various types of beans/grains/spices/herbs for various ethnic cuisines. I made it to the end. What's your Plant-based Thanksgiving Manicotti recipe? Do you make your marinara from scratch? Recipe? What is your favorite home yoga routine? Will you describe your meditation process? Thanks to both of you.
I needed this!! Thanks so much! Great tips and shows just how easy it is to do things right. Walk and no labels!!! Ugh! I needed to hear from a post menopausal perspective in a serious way! Thank you healthy mummie!
Thank you so much! The highlight of the week is seeing you two!! Seeing another menopausal woman that has succeeded on this healthy lifestyle is inspiring. The Power of Now is on my reading list. I have been telling myself that this lifestyle will not work at this point in my life. Thank you!
Yay!! So excited to see healthy mum doing so well! Love this interview, thank you both! ♥️ My question is, when people ask about how you eat and why you are doing so well, how do you share with them about this lifestyle? Do you ever share or want to share with your patients who would benefit so much from the knowledge you have gained?
So wonderful. I'm just starting this "way of life"; you are both so inspirational! I'm an older woman, so I appreciate the feedback from Healthy Mummy. Thanks so very much.
Tip no 5 Remove Negative thinking 4. Do some walking (3ml a day) & Meditation 3. Take your Jeans loose for it 2. Take care of your fridge - Whole Foods 1. Plant based milk
Emmie I made my very first nut milk just last week and it is beyond delicious! It’s rich and creamy and I control the ingredients. I soaked 2 cups raw cashews over night, blending 6 cups water, teaspoon Himalayan salt, 4 dates and real vanilla. I blended for 2 minutes. Lastly, I poured it into my Nut Milk bag and massaged all the yummy milk out! I purchased beautiful glass milk bottles and Nut milk bag on Amazon ❤️
First of all, I LOVE Healthy Mummie! ❤ it's always a pleasure to see her on the channel. Second, when the cat was clawing that beautiful couch I wanted to jump through the screen and be like "hey Emmie, turn around!!!" I have cats as well so I understand the struggle.
I’m 57 and enjoying these videos with your mom, but I can’t find a video that shows which foods that I can eat on a plant based diet. I’ve gained a lot of post menopausal Lowe abdominal weight. Thank you, Kim
Just found your channel and am really enjoying these videos. I perked up when I saw the word menopause, haha! I just turned 50 and haven't started that journey yet but I'm trying to learn and understand it. Thanks for sharing ❤
Emmie I hope you see this.... I loved this SO MUCH. Thank you for your mum and sharing this. It really helped me . I wish i could like this video thousands of times, everyone should see it, Your relationship with your mum is beautiful. What great tips! Your mum has answered my question so I havent got another one yet but I could listen to your mum over and over! Please please do more! sending you lots of love from the UK
I have kept my weight loss in check for not 1 year but for the past 32 years. I put it down to a low carbohydrate, low sugar, well-balanced diet that contains fruits, vegetables and lean meat. I never called my weight loss method a diet but a healthy living plan. I am healthy and I walk a few miles a day. Cheap and effective. Self discipline initially is key and taking personal responsibility is also important. It is a life style choice that will make a difference to health and well being.
you both look great. Thanks for the tips. I have released -105 lbs since going plant based 2/14/20 ....Love the tip about comfortable clothes when walking.....I was so excited to fit in a size 12 pants. then I gained 4 lbs lol.....I am ok with this mind set wise. But boy was I uncomfortable the day I squeezed in them & went for a walk. Have a great Holiday Season.... I look forward to your upcoming videos.... I always watch the ones with your mom & Dad its been great watching them.
I just discovered tip #3 myself! I was recently wearing too tight pants (thinking it would be a good reminder of my goal), but I ended up extremely irritated for the first half of the day for what I thought was no good reason - until I really tried to pinpoint the cause. As soon as I put on pants that actually fit, my mood and the way I tackled my day completely changed!
Did your mom need to take any hormones to get through menopause hot flashes etc. ? What brands of plant milk does your mom use now? Your mom looks great 👍
I have been waiting for a video like this. Any weight loss programs I have seen regarding women in menopause have some sort of animal protein/meat in them. I can't wait to hear more!
Haha that was my question too! I love your Mom! I think it’s so neat to was open to try this lifestyle and was able to commit and do this while working as a nurse.
I know I say it every time, but I adore Mum AND you! ❤️ You both are gorgeous inside and out 💕What brand/brands of plant milk does she use? Does she eat any overt fats? Thanks for the video Emmie ☺️
This interview was very helpful for me, thank you. I love how your adorable cats decided to start wrestling on the floor right in the little gap between you and your moms shoulders 😂. So hilarious how the pets always steal the show.
Hey, I’m about to turn 38. I’ve started to add starches and more plants into my diet and cut out fats and animal-based products (some for quite a while now). I still use my crutch - lattes! Of course I use plant-based milk. My question for Emmie’s mom is - what did you replace your lattes with to shift to a healthier way of drinking? I love to have a hot, sweet drink to sip throughout the day!
Lots of comments. I’m new to your blog. Love that you have brought your mom into this blog. I’m 64. Need to loose 20+ lbs. So this might have been asked. What do you both do when you just crave something sweet and don’t want a fruit ?
I was surprised, too, about the plant milk. I couldn't believe the shelf stable plant milks contained the least amount of ingredients. I drink Westbrea Natural West soy. It's just soybeans and water.
Love to hear from your mom's journey 😇I am 65years old and I relate better to your mother daughter videos👍also would like to hear about her favorite plant based milk🙏bless you both🙏
Love Healthy Mommy! 💜 Congratulations on her success. What are her current goals now? Is she in maintenance or still trying to slim down/get healthier?
I am soooo struggling with nuts and nut butters. I would like to lose those last 15 lbs. I'm 51 yrs. old on track with wfpb, exercise daily. Love seeing your mom succeed...very inspirational to me. My question is, what did you replace your nutbutter with? Thankyou and big smiles to you and your mom.😊
Healthy mummy, what is the tastiest way that you've found to eat veggies? Do you saute with water or broth? Would love to see a video on that. How long did it take for you to get used to this way of eating?
Emmie and “Mummy,” do you emphasize having more whole food plant based proteins because the WFPB docs are finding that after menopause, we ladies need to have more protein in our diets so we don’t lose muscle mass as we age. I am 66 and I do have osteoporosis. I’m not sure what Dr. McDougall’s stance on this issue. Any light you can shed for us aging ladies will be most appreciated. 🤪😃👍💕
I am married to a carnivore. I have done these plant based diets for long weekends or times when he is away. But its SO hard to do it all the time. I don't want to subject my husband who I love to my diet. However I would love for him to join me becasue his health would benefit too. Do you have any suggestions on how to compromise or how to sway a spouse to eat plant based? BTW love the Mommy / Daughter videos - I have two adult daughters and know how special the relationship is :)
Hello from UK, your Mum and you are so inspirational, I've followed you for some time and for first time in years I am in healthy weight range. What I wanted to ask, was is there healthy condiments or tips on spicing up dishes to add more flavour to dishes? What are your favourites? Thank you 🥰
Does your mom ever get any sweet urges and if so what does she have to stay on track?... you both look great! I enjoyed your interview with Dr McDougall 😀
I am 40. Found out I am completely POST Menopausal. No joke. So, I am needing to change my direction. My question is why a plant based diet? Why no meat?
Hi Emmie, I live in Australia. I know you lived here for a little while also. I’m struggling to find a good quality plant based milk here. Can u recall any brands that you used? Also, is there such a thing as a good Soy milk? I’m feeling so discouraged atm. I’m only in my 40’s and am struggling with heart disease and PCOS. I have a young daughter and am terrified that I won’t be around to raise her if I don’t make drastic changes in my life. I feel overwhelmed and defeated and just don’t know where to even begin. PCOS doctors say not to each starchy foods like potatoes …so now I don’t know what to do or where to start 😭 Any insight would be much appreciated. I love your videos and I know you have impacted a lot of people on their health journey. You’re an amazing support and guide for people who are struggling with healthy and dietary issues.
Can't Wait for the next video with Healthy Mummy! Love them!! 🤗💓 Thank you so much for sharing your story with us! I too am post menopausal and trying to lose weight. Your tips and tricks are such a great help! Please do videos of what Healthy Mummy eats in a day! I think that would help so many of us post menopausal women who sometimes feel it's just the way we are going to live and feel, the rest of our lives. And clearly, it doesn't have to be! I am primarily plant based and don't eat any packaged foods or meat. But I'm struggling with giving up my 1/2 & 1/2 for my coffee and Cheese!
How much weight did you mum lose, how long did it take, how many pounds per week, did she ever slip up for a few days and eat something that wasn't WFPB? Did her weight ever go up a bit? Thanks
Love it! When are you going to collate all of the special recipes, healthy dads, your chili etc. and put out that cookbook? Awesome seeing your mom on for an update. Great tips! ☺️
Hi ladies‼️ I watch all the time and have tried hard core several times. I’ve had a bit of success but I can’t seem to stay vigilant…. I am post menopausal I guess. I had a complete hysterectomy 10 yrs ago and am on bio identical hormone replacement and have hasimotos thyroiditis and hypothyroidism. I do take meds T3 and T4. I am struggling with the nightshades. I just don’t feel good after potatoes‼️ I do eat mostly sweet potatoes now but they aren’t as versatile. I love wfpb but potatoes and broccoli were my go to and my stomach just can’t do it anymore…..😏😔. What to eat?? There are so many foods I love but do not agree with my stomach
I hope this isn’t too personal but how old is your mom? I am 50 so I am just curious. She looks fabulous and I was on board to watch her entire journey and doing the same thing at the same time. Thank you
Usually after a workout it’s recommended to have some sort of protein so what would you recommend that is plant based? Can’t wait to hear what you think.
I Love you both, you are both so inspiring to me. I am trying this new journey, but I 've always suffered with IBS, I am having more difficulty staying on beans and cruciferous vegetables, I am always chewing and eating ginger after a meal to help me with my issues, I feel embarrassed at my home and if I stepped out of my home, can you please help with a tip on this issue 😢
Would love to know your thoughts on using coconut oil as a body moisturizer and using hot oil for deep conditioning my hair. I don't eat any oils but can I still use them for my body?
Your mom started this journey because of her cholesterol numbers. I am curious to hear about the changes in her numbers as a result to the changes that she made in her diet.
I know this video was made a while ago but my question is doesn't all of the starch and no oil go against every other diet and way of eating out there, even the Mediterranean diet which is supposed to be the healthiest diet around? I really hope that you can answer this for me. I'm going to be 55 next month and I started menopause in February. I've been 35-40 lbs heavier since age 51 and I cannot successfully lose the weight and keep it off. I really need to do something that will work for me and give me my life back. Ty!
Thank you for the reward and thse tips. Can you please explain why triglicerides have gone up after 3 yrs of eating WFPB SOS free? I was a T2 no longer but the TGs are going up. Dates are used in dressings only not as a snack. Thank you
Please watch the whole Healthy Mummy series!!
Great thank you!
Over 50. Just lost 50 pounds over 8 months. Was amazed how easily I did it. Portion control and half hour walk did it. 10 more to go.
You got this! 😊💕

I would love to hear what a typical day of eating looks like for healthy mummy. Love it when you have her on. .
kitty smack down going on in the background. love it
loved hearing from your mom ! i'm post menopausal and overweight. That , along with pain from arthritis keeps me from exercising. I walk when i can but its usually only for about 15 minutes. Some days, yoga even hurts. It can be frustrating.
Staying positive is a great tip! I need to remember that daily.
The comfy clothing tip is a great one! Be kind to yourself.
My all time favourite books, that I recommend all the time are; The Power of Now, The Starch Solution and The Pleasure Trap 🙌🏼
I just added The Pleasure Trap to my library hold list. Thank you!

She is!! 💕💕
Thank you so much! The highlight of the week is seeing you two!! Seeing another menopausal woman that has succeeded on this healthy lifestyle is inspiring. The Power of Now is on my reading list. I have been telling myself that this lifestyle will not work at this point in my life. Thank you!
Awww you're welcome! 😊💕
I love healthy mum! She’s such a beautiful woman and a beam of light! I didn’t know she was a nurse that’s awesome!

Thank you! 😊💕
Loved this video. Great info. You and your mom together was super cute. Oh. And your cats in the background tangling up was priceless! 😊🐱
Thank you so much!! 😊💕
I definitely need a “Healthy Emmie” daughter!!!!
Yay!! So excited to see healthy mum doing so well! Love this interview, thank you both! ♥️
My question is, when people ask about how you eat and why you are doing so well, how do you share with them about this lifestyle? Do you ever share or want to share with your patients who would benefit so much from the knowledge you have gained?
This is great information! I love the cats playing in the background...LOL 😻😹
Wonderful video thank you so much! Would love to see a basic 'what I eat in a day' video. You are both such an inspiration. Love from Australia. ,❤️
Thank you! 😊💕
So wonderful. I'm just starting this "way of life"; you are both so inspirational! I'm an older woman, so I appreciate the feedback from Healthy Mummy. Thanks so very much.

Tip no 5 Remove Negative thinking
4. Do some walking (3ml a day) & Meditation

Well summarized

Such a sweet video with your Mum! She’s the best! Thank you both!
Our pleasure! 💕😊
Loved this! Could healthy Mum walk us through a food prep day? Especially a soup recipe. Yum! Love you both!
This is fantastic! I am almost 60 and need to lose 45 to 50 lbs… I am almost to the point of giving up.. between my thyroid issues and age… It’s hard!
🤣 I can’t take my eyes off the cats 🐱 playing. Great info, and your mom is lovely 🥰.
Thank you so much!! 🥰💕
I love both you and Healthy Mummie! ❤ How about a video on what Healthy Mummie eats in a day/her favorite meals or what she eats if she is travelling?
I’m 57 and enjoying these videos with your mom, but I can’t find a video that shows which foods that I can eat on a plant based diet. I’ve gained a lot of post menopausal Lowe abdominal weight. Thank you, Kim
Just found your channel and am really enjoying these videos. I perked up when I saw the word menopause, haha! I just turned 50 and haven't started that journey yet but I'm trying to learn and understand it. Thanks for sharing ❤

Steamed baby potatoes dipped in spicy mustard is my go to when I get hungry between meals. 3 hit the spot.

Thank you so much for sharing! 😊💕
Yay! So glad for the update. Looking good. Great tips.
Thanks so much 😊💕
Those cats in the background are KILLING ME!!!!😂😂😂
I just discovered tip #3 myself!
Thank you so much for sharing! 😊💕
I would also love to see more about her journey from start till now. You two are adorable!
Definitely watch the series on my channel called HEALTHY MUMMY SERIES❤️
Omg I ADORE Ekart Tolle and The Power nod Now 🥰
Did your mom need to take any hormones to get through menopause hot flashes etc. ? What brands of plant milk does your mom use now? Your mom looks great 👍
Yes I was curious too if she is taking bio-identical hormones.
I have been waiting for a video like this. Any weight loss programs I have seen regarding women in menopause have some sort of animal protein/meat in them. I can't wait to hear more!
Glad it was helpful! 😊💕
love healthy mummie! thx emmie for sharing your knowledge.
You're welcome! 😊💕
What are the plant milks that your Mom buys now? What does she put in her coffee (assuming she still drinks coffee)? Thank you!
Added to the list for our next QA video!
This was my question as well! Glad it was added to the q&a!
Love the cats in the background!!❤
Thank you so much for watching! 🤗
Love seeing Healthy Mommy!! What are the cleanest plantbased milks you recommend?
This interview was very helpful for me, thank you. I love how your adorable cats decided to start wrestling on the floor right in the little gap between you and your moms shoulders 😂. So hilarious how the pets always steal the show.
Glad it was helpful! ❤️😉
Love this video (well all your videos actually)
Hey, I’m about to turn 38. I’ve started to add starches and more plants into my diet and cut out fats and animal-based products (some for quite a while now). I still use my crutch - lattes! Of course I use plant-based milk. My question for Emmie’s mom is - what did you replace your lattes with to shift to a healthier way of drinking? Thanks! Good info and great to see "mom". Could you show your exercise equipment sometime? Thanks
Wooooow! Amazing job, healthy mom! 😍
OMG! I have to toss all my plant based milks now! I never realized 😬 Thank you for this video!
You're so welcome! 🥰💕
Lots of comments. I’m new to your blog. Love that you have brought your mom into this blog. I’m 64. Need to loose 20+ lbs. So this might have been asked. What do you both do when you just crave something sweet and don’t want a fruit ?
Can you talk about nut spreads. Which r better. When i head to the gym i reach for peanut butter for a quick fill up. 💜❤️♥️tks
I was surprised, too, about the plant milk. I couldn't believe the shelf stable plant milks contained the least amount of ingredients. I drink Westbrea Natural West soy. It's just soybeans and water.

Healthy mummy, what is the tastiest way that you've found to eat veggies? Do you saute with water or broth? Would love to see a video on that. How long did it take for you to get used to this way of eating?
you both have amazing skin
Thanks so much for this video!!! I am 54 and struggle to grab hold of WFPB eating….inspiring! Also, what PB milk do you buy at Whole Foods?

My question.......plant based vs protein / lo-card? I continually read that post-menopausal women need protein for muscles !!
Hello from UK, your Mum and you are so inspirational, I've followed you for some time and for first time in years I am in healthy weight range. What I wanted to ask, was is there healthy condiments or tips on spicing up dishes to add more flavour to dishes? What are your favourites? Thank you 🥰

Who is Dr McDougal? I made it to the end and am curious.
Can't Wait for the next video with Healthy Mummy! Love them!! 🤗💓
Thank you so much for sharing your story with us!

Thanks
Would love to see the food prep
Emmie you remind me of me. Your look like I did when I consumed too many carrots.ove you guys
Love it! When are you going to collate all of the special recipes, healthy dads, your chili etc. and put out that cookbook? Awesome seeing your mom on for an update. Great tips! ☺️
The cats in the background😍😍
I would ❤ to see u both in the kitchen! Love your mom! Nurse moms rule! My moms one too!

My question is is mom still drinking coffee? Also she said now she knows what milk to buy can you please let us know which one is? Thank you ❤️
Added to the list for our next QA video!
What’s the best way to stop nighttime binges when it’s not about hunger?
Thank you
