As a black born Brit your channel opened up my eyes to so many lies we are told about Russia. I was very disappointed when you stopped uploading. Happy health to you!
I remember visiting my grandgrandmo in Tatarstan when I was a child. She was a Chuvash, not Tatar, but still I enjoyed the culture very much. One of the best my memories are about the same-day baked milk, extremely fresh. I have bought it for 0.8 dollars together with freshly made chak-chak. Dream brunch now - baked milk together with chak-chak.
Me and my wife visited Kazan this year for the first time and we was impressed by it's beauty! It's about 2700 km away from our home in Siberia. What we may suggest about local food is "ichpochmack" ("triangle" in Kazan) -- it's small pie of triangle shape with beef, potatoes and onion inside. It's very good! There are good local food cafes in Kazan's city center (on Bauman street too) called "Tubetey" -- they make great ichpochmacks and other tasty local food!
We loved Kazan as well and will definitely visit again. Which city in Siberia are you from? I haven't visited Siberia yet and we hope to visit in the near future especially lake Baikal 😀
@@AfroRussiaTv, I'm from Zheleznogorsk, a small town near Krasnoyarsk city. It is closed for free visiting for security reasons. But Krasnoyarsk itself and it's nature mountain park "Stolbi" is the place to visit for sure!
Honestly, I’m incredibly disappointed that you haven’t tried triangles - треугольники and sweet rice pie - губадия. This are one of the most basic staples of Tatar foods, as well as tea with melissa and other herbs and milk. It’s a must to have it with milk, because people used to have it more as a meal with some pastries or bread. Things like soups are also very traditional. Noodle soup with chicken is one of the best and loved. I think you really need to come back and try again 😉 Recommend you the restaurant Гусь 🪿 , because it has very traditional food (tatars approved) which tastes amazing 😋
Bauman street in evening is fantastic, Muslim mosque inside Kremlin in evening having fantastic light decoration. There is a fantastic place near the river a little far away down the Kremiln with fantastic view of the river and many restaurants and cafe. Highly recommendation to visit the city, I felt more familiar there than my own country.
Planning trip in April of 24th . Will definitely visit Kazan. Have you Tochi travel by train? Which hotel did you choose to stay in? I'm thinking of taking a train from Moscow to Kazan. Thanks a million.
Hi Bro, hope you’re doing good? Beginning of spring is a great time to visit Russia and you definitely have to visit Kazan when you come. How long do you plan to stay in Russia? If you’ll be here for many month’s you should try and plan your trip to Kazan in June so you can witness the Sabantuy festival. I didn’t go to Kazan by train, I went by bus because I was already in a city near Kazan but there are direct trains from Moscow to Kazan which cost around $15 so you should definitely take that. Russia trains are very comfortable and convenient so I recommend you take the train. We didn’t stay in a hotel, we found an apartment on avito, a Russian classified website. You can search for hotels on Yandex travel website. Let me know if you have more questions. Cheers.
An interesting fact that few people know: Celtic languages are Slavic languages, because the Celts are Slavs. And an one interesting thing that some of the Mongolian dialects sound like Irish and a little Welsh :)) I won’t delve into alternative history, although there is an explanation there.
