Even though what Rachet said was a low blow and the reaction would've been warranted, Optimus was the type who would never raise a hand against his allies. Especially against Rachet, who is one of his oldest friends.

@@mjdino9803 The team was unable to do the things they wanted to do because of the way the budget was with how expensive the animation was leaving a lot of different concepts that were building up cut short to no pay off (Mech, Insecticons, Predacons,Breakdown, etc.). The way Hasbro also watched them like a hawk and restricted their creativity. You can't set the tone of a show to be dark by killing one of the autobots in the very first episode then never kill another autobot until the final episode, it completely made the show feel without actual mortal stakes. Having so many of the main Autobot team have such straight laced and boring personalities made for quite a dull watch with Jack, Raph, Bulkhead, Arcee, and Optimus. Arcee was a literal hypocrite many times throughout the show, most notably the whole with her rivalry thing with airachnid. The way the rivalries also had very shallow and uninteresting motivations. Again though, most of these things I'm listing could be a result of the team not being able to do what they wanted. Prime just ended up being a very boring and continuous status quo kinda show with no risks being taken except on the graphical aspect. It had interesting concepts but none of them really impacted much, the characters all seemed to be really static.

From the Japanese G1 continuity to the anime inspired style of Animated, I love the crazy it brings. Perhaps Prime just isn't as wacky as I prefer transformers to be, but is definitely what most people with more normal tastes than I look for in Transformers.
I really like War For Cybertron because of the way it really humanises Optimus. He feels, he struggles, he’s far from perfect and he makes sacrifices and mistakes, he’s allowed to be a person and not just a leader or an ideal. And they do all of this while also retaining the things we love about Optimus. Ik the series had a rough time in the background with drama but I cannot fault the product itself that was produced on a lot of things

In TFP, there's a cut line when Ratchet, while juiced by the incomplete Energon formula, puts acid on Optimus' injury by mentioning Elita, which Optimus snapped and punched him then calms down and told Ratchet to go back to HQ.
I think what makes this scene more emotional is that in this show this is actually the very first time out of all the other versions of Optimus Prime this is the very first version where we see him sad you see it in his expression from his eyes.

I watched the trilogy on netflix and when this scene came I expected this music to be in the background, but it wasn’t 😭, this is one of those times where the fans do a scene better because the music made me feeeeel things here, wish they actually included it because it would’ve been an amazing nod to TFP
