- The Old Courthouse became unsafe in November 2021. After the River Cockers fast flowing waters eroded the stone section below it.
It was then declared unsafe. On the 8th of October 2023 the historic building collapsed into the River.
The Cocker Bridge is closed to traffic until further notice.
The 194 year old building is Grade 2 listed .It was sold at auction last year for £51.000 .
It was in need of major structural repair.

Great choice of music, I felt the drama of your video. Bravo for taking on a different topic. I like it very much . 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I'm pleased you enjoyed it! Thank you 😊
Unbelievable that this has happened. Especially when the owner knew it needed urgent work. Great capture
Totally agree. Shocking 😲 Thank you for your visit and support 🙏 ❤
Wow, stunning views. Thanks for sharing 👍🎥
Thank you 😊
very beautiful and engaging, perfect soundtrack 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Thank you very much. Pleased you enjoyed it. ❤️
Tragic but that location makes for excellent subject matter. Bravo 👏
Thank you. Didn't have too much space to fly. 😮 Had low battery, too. It's quite a sight to behold.
So sad to see an elegant building not maintained and left to nature. Grand capture Yvonne, best seat in town!
Many thanks! It happened a few weeks ago. Just happened to be in the area today. Looks like the whole lot will come down soon with a gust of wind.
Sehr schöne Bilder toll eingefangen und sehr unterhaltsam.Vielen Dank fürs Teilen und mitnehmen.toll gemacht 👍🏻 Grüße Semare 🇨🇭
Thank you very much ❤️
Great footage! 👌 But yeah, that absolutely sucks about the property 🤯
Thank you. Luckily, nobody was hurt. It is a shame about the building.
Oh wow! I didn't hear about this. Great work capturing it!
Thank you 😊 It happened a few weeks ago now. I was there just the other day. Not much flying room mind.
@@ladyintheskyuk This is where I'm loving the Mini 4 Pro, with its 360 sensor. It let's me get into place I previously wouldn't have dared. Well flown! ❤️
Such a shame. And obviously quite an historical building.. nice video 😁
Thank you 😊
Wonderful video and great job my friend big like 👏👏👏👍
Thank you very much ❤️
Great video, sad that it happened to this old building.
Thank you, David. ❤️
❤ oh wow I hope nobody was inside when that happened. Drones are ace to capture this sort of thing and survey the area etc. Loved the music too 😊
Thank you very much Trevor ❤️ The building has been unstable for a few years. The river damaged its foundations
Thank you, Trevor. The building has been unstable for a few years after the river damaged the foundation stones. Nothing was done about it, and then this happened 😒 I would imagine the next storm will finish it completely. Hope you're feeling better ❤️
@@ladyintheskyuk It is such a shame as it will probably mean the whole thing will need to be knocked down at some point and it’s a loss as many historic places are up against the river just like that one.
@@ladyintheskyuk Unforutnatley so many places get neglected and then the words told you so seem to come to mind but it’s too late then with no winners. Yes thank you I am getting there slowly so thank you for asking : )
I have to hand it to you. This showing of the historical building is awesome. Great piloting, and fitting music.
Thank you very much, my friend. Pleased you enjoyed it. ❤️
love how close you were to the wires at the start, mother nature has such power
Thank you. Yes, the wires😮 I was keeping a close eye on them. Not a great deal of space to fly there. Just happened to be in the area today
Such a pity nice coverage Yvonne
It really is!.Thank you Jim
You're footage is amazing and the video is brilliant but can't help but feel for the people that are having to deal with this, great video well done
Thank you very much. Pleased you enjoyed it. Looks like the whole lot will come down in a gust of wind.
Great footage what a shame looks like a lovely building
Thank you, Johnny.
Great shots! This was quite a sad event though 👍👍
Thank you very much ❤️ Yes it was.
Amazing video Yvonne. Such a sad ending for an old building. Big thumbs up fro me
Thank you very much. 😊 I would have flown it a bit longer, but the battery was very low.
Good choice of music to go with the video! It creates a Harry Potter vibe.
Thank you very much, John .Pleased you enjoyed it. 😉
Very interesting, well flown.
Glad you enjoyed it 😊
Amazing video ❤
Thank you very much ❤️
Ideal soundtrack, highlighting the sadness of the decay and collapse
Thank you. Yes, it's a shame.
An amazing yet equally sad video.
Yes, it's sad that another historic building has come to a sad end.
Gorgeous and my auntie JENNY lives in Cockermouth
Thank you, my friend. It's a lovely place. Hello to Auntie Jenny.😊
Great footage! Now THAT's a fixer-upper!
Thank you. Looks like it will all come down soon. Pleased I don't live in the house behind it. 😮
Incredible views 👍
Thank you very much ❤️
Great video. Subscribed.
Thank you very much, Simon. 🫡 and for your support. Greatly appreciate

Peccato per questa bella casa. Video top. Brava.😊😊😊
Thank you. 😊
Brilliant video but a shame about the building.Whatever happens to it in the future you have captured a part of its history..👍
Glad you enjoyed it. Thank you.
Yet again the power of nature makes us very fragile on this spinning rock. We will only learn not to mistreat it when it’s too late. Well captured 👍🏻🤗
Thank you, Ray. Pleased you enjoyed it. ❤️
you certainly do some miles 🤣😁👍🏻❤️
@Raybo1uk I've got shares in BP. 🤣🤣🤣
Huh wow. Nice flight and it looks like someone will have a big project
Thank you. Just read on a news link that the owner is having legal action taken against then. Will be interesting to see what happens 🤔
@@ladyintheskyuk huh wow
Such a cool building =(
Wow 😮 that’s so sad 😢
Yes, it is. Doesn't look like the rest of it has much longer 😕
Seen a few vids of this building in Cockermouth recently.. I recall seeing tables on that rickety balcony 22 yrs ago ago (I remember the date as arranged our wedding that year with the Cockermouth registrar). I said at the time a good sneeze would have that in the river and I would rather do Sharp Edge again but blindfold this time than have my lunch on that thing. 😂
Cockermouth register Office has closed its doors now. I was married there too. I wouldn't want my dinner on that balcony either, nor would I want to do Sharp Edge. Might send my bird up there next spring mind. 🤔
@@ladyintheskyuk Haha. Small world. Registrar's closed, blimey online job or work from home now! 🤣 We got married at Winderhall down the road, which I believe has also closed. Sharp Edge is pretty easy really. Did Crib Goch a couple of yrs ago, now that was scary! 🤯
@DocColVideo I once worked with a woman who fell off Sharp Edge. Took a stumble. Almost died. I don't have a great head for heights these days. I'm not sure why. 😕 Send the bird instead 😉 It is a small 🌎 It wouldn't surprise me if you could get married online. I've never heard of Crib Goch. But I'm going to look it up online now 😆 Have a good day, my friend
@@ladyintheskyuk Oh dear, hope she recovered. Crib Goch is the knife edge ridge route up to Snowden Summit. Unfortunately, didn't own a drone when I did it and GoPro packed up on me enroute. 😪
@DocColVideo I have just watched a video of Crib Goch. 😱 You wouldn't get me up there for all the tea in China. Well done, you for going up.
Oh! That's gonna need a few nails and some paint. Hope your down draught didn't cause it.😜 Nice flying!
Thank you Dave. I hope it had nothing to do with my down draft 🤔 😅
Nice footage shame about the house
Thank you very much 😊
Blimey! Poor building. Great footage though - something you'd see on the news 😃👍
Thank you. It happened a few weeks ago. Looks like it will all come down in a gust of wind.
@@ladyintheskyuk I could probably pop my Avata in there... 🤔 Maybe not a good idea! 🤣
@@JauneMacReady The breeze of your props would probably be enough to bring the whole thing down 😅
@@ladyintheskyuk very true. It's not exactly a subtle drone either...
@@JauneMacReady 🤣
Is the collapse recent?
A few weeks ago .The 8th October.
Une vidéo qui sort de la banalité. Bravo 👍
Merci beaucoup ❤
Tellement triste de voir cet immeuble s ecrouler
😟😟😟😟
😂😂 you need them, can I borrow some 🤣🤣
🤣🤣🤣⛽️🛢⛽️
Gee thanks 😂🤣😂👍🏻 … address for collection required now 🤣🤣🤣
😧
It's still like that. 😯
@@ladyintheskyuk Thats crazy, surely the building is unsafe like that? :O
Apparently, the fella who bought it at auction was told it needed serious foundation repairs. Guess what. He never did any repairs, and now it stands in this state.
LMAO
