Disaster? Not for long! King Fred will be at least 42% happier & stronger! And such a good attitude adds 50+ more horse power! I can hardly wait to see the final version!
First task - find the correct dashboard. The two instruments seem correct, but the rest is not easy on the eye. Second task - check to see if the suspension is hydrolastic or rubber cone. Third task - disc brake conversion. Fourth task - (which Robby seems to put first) plugs, points timing [don't forget the vacuum advance/retard including the little plastic pipe which can develop holes]. Fifth task - body corrosion. Sixth task - learn to drive the car, it doesn't operate like an American car. Seventh task - tyres, the best that money can buy [Pirelli are pretty good on minis] and fan belt. Eighth task - find a decent road to drive on [the A515 to Buxton is a good model]. Ninth task - oil and filter change. Tenth task - get out to that road and rag it.
Glad to see the finishing touches to the big Bus 🚌! Alcan Springs will be huge improvement along with the HD swaybars. If anyone can find the engine harness problem, Chad can! (Or just replace it). Get King Fred put back together 👍
You're the best, Demri. Your Robbie has his dream clown car now. If you were here in the Midwest, Robbie. Poor Fred would already be able to pull the cab without taking any bolts out. He's going to be very happy with new paint and actually having steel again. Great job, everyone
Your family and team have so much fun. It puts a smile on my face and gives a chuckle to an old ex-pat American living in south Vietnam. Thanks a million.☮️❤️Rusty the “corroded one“ my friend Bill gave me that moniker! Old, crusty, still functioning.
As a MINI fan and owner, I can understand how happy that surprise made you, Robby. Your wife and friends earned serious karma points for that. Congrats!

Family…. It’s all good. 20 years ago I had a 2+2 sand toy with 140 Corvair motor mated to a 12v VW transmission. Many memories, appreciate the videos. Matt, you are a good man, doing good things. You are blessed. Thank you.
Now can do the Rory Irish front dig, but the most fun in a mini is the handbrake turn. While in motion start a turn and pull the handbrake on while still staying in the power. When you are pointed in the direction you want release the brake and power away. Just remember to keep your thumb on the handbrake handle till it is fully released. Not sure if it’s still available but they at one time sold a kit to change the handle button to always released and lock it by pushing the button. I owned a 1963 mini station wagon with real ash on the exterior. These were called the Mini Countryman Woody Wagon.
Awesome job Demri, HIllbilly, Colton and Steve!!! I know Steve was so stressed out about the storage container having Robby get upset with him. You just know Steve has a good heart reacting like that.
The mini is cool! You have a good-hearted wife in Demri. Maybe you can make the mini, a mini grocery getter, and Demri can do her shopping at a mini mart! Lol, catch you on the next. ✌️😊
Hi Robby like the Mini used to have one great fun little car just pick up another one now starting to restore it and take it on the hillclimb tracks in great britain enjoy the little Mini
Mini's are a cool little car, back in the day we used to go to a open carpark , put steel baking tray's under the back wheels, pull the handbrake on, and let her rip, it's like driving on ice,, SOOOO much fun, awesome car Robbie, you are going to really love rippin in it.
I did the exact same thing on my 82 GMC 1 ton dump truck. Inner outer rockers floors kick panels and cab supports. Still need to finish it but my garage isn't big enough so have to start putting it on hold until the spring.
A Mini Clubman. A Mini Clubman is my first car. After 35 years I still have it. My Clubman is a 1100 from 1975, left hand drive and drove great. It is now in my garage waiting for a complete restoration. I know the Mini Clubman used to be called the ugly Mini, but I thought and still think it is a fantastically beautiful car.
Love the Mini. Had one for 10 years. Deseamed it and had a 1430cc motor in it for a while and it looked standard but went a lot quicker. Sold it like you do. I wish I'd kept it.
You have great family and friends Robby! I want a right hand drive Mini cooper... At least I have a right hand drive a JDM Honda Acty Mini truck, so I guess I can't complain to much. ;)
Great video.. Much like your highly watchable old stuff. Did wonder when you were going to cut Christine the Cursed Bus loose.. that thing is a mess. Enjoy your new toy
Demri, you are an amazing wife 👍

I can hardly wait to see the final version!
Time to give King Fred a proper name, like....
Steve Austin
As in the $6 Million Dollar Man, not the wrestler.
@@sarahwhitlock6100Fred, as in Ford RED, was the name given by the previous owner who passed away, so King Fred is here to stay.

Back in the day when they were close to new, they made great ice racing cars up in Wisconsin and Minnesota
Used to race minis back In the day, great fun. Enjoy.
I have always wanted a mini with the awd and v-tec conversion. That makes them a rocket on rails! Check them out!
Great new aluminum dash idea for King Fred.....custom.
