You had your doubts that Fred could do that, but that is the difference between hydraulic and electric winches. Yes, hydraulic winches are slow, but they can do amazing things.

That's exactly my thoughts too, but these guys along with fab rats don't get it, they also never did figure out how to speed it up ,by higher idle
Yeah. Electric is fine to self recover. Hydraulic will pull everything all day long.

Same can be said for the old chain drive pullers my dad was in bobtail that flipped luckily there was old chain drive fork lift used for box cars on rail road picked that thing up like it was a tinker toy

Seems to me I remember a time where king Fred lost the water pump on a mountain and you left it there overnight. I would say that king Fred has let you down at least once.

Sitting on the wrecker bed during a cable pull is not a smart choice. That is a serious danger zone! Damn lucky that cable didn't snap!
yeah, that'd get you a visit from WH&S here, pretty stupid thing to do. No dampener bags on the cable either.
Sometimes these guys are total idiots. This isnt some game. People can and will get hurt unless you change your practices
Yeah, I'm a little disappointed in the safety ethics as well.
everything about this recovery was dangerous and not necessary. doing things that you could die from isn't funny or entertaining. this one is as bad as the one where hillbilly was working under the derby car while it was being supported by only a forklift.

I spent a week in ICU after almost being killed by someone else running a winch when they shouldn't have and the cable on a brand new winch broke. So take it from me you will regret sitting anywhere on or near those cables if something breaks. Please be safe and keep as much distance as you can while operating them.
