Hey Julia…you did a great job on this video…I lost my husband last October to cancer and helped him transition to the next phase of his journey. It is the hardest but such an honor to be there…surrounding your loved ones in love…protecting their peace as they transition. As far as processing my grief…Mother Nature is my go to gal!! My BFF…She can take it. I cried, screamed…gave it all to her and the divine. This camping season was a celebration of life. Spreading my husband’s ashes at all of our favorite camping places. I did it… solo… I wasn’t afraid. I embraced the quiet and the serenity. My husband saved everything, including a whole lot of Cabela points. Which I then turned into all of my backpacking gear. And thank you for being the inspiration for me pulling the trigger. I just got back from my first trip. I am hooked. Do I still grieve? Yes, it comes in waves. Every now and then something will set it off. But most of all I am so grateful that I’m able to do the things that I do. There are no guarantees. My husband knew he would not return to Black Lake, his favorite place…my husband passed at age 59. I don’t take anything for granted. There are other modalities that I used to help. But most of all it’s mother nature. thank you again Julia safe travels and I can’t wait to see where you land next❤

I went through a divorce back in 2013. Also led to the estrangement of my two daughters. It flipped my world upside down. Little by little with God's help I put my life back together. My passion is to travel and I have gone so many places, mission trips, Italy, Africa, Israel. I am not done.

Julia! I am so loving your content and appreciate you sharing your journey! I am healing and processing the loss of my marriage of 21 years. I am 59 and although the marriage was abusive, it is still a loss and leaves me with facing a drastic change in all areas of my life. I am preparing for a new adventure and chapter in my life by also moving abroad. It’s not that I’m running from something, I’m running to something. Thank you for all you do! ❤

It always reminds me of that quote, “not all that wander, are lost” We’re just moving forward and find a new adventures to experience this life. And that’s not everybody’s path, but but for some of us, it’s the only thing that we crave ❤

I get that a lot that I am running away from something. Here is the thing, I have been moving forward in such a way I never have before, that I no longer look backwards and am in a state of contentment!
When you finally hit your wall and don’t care what anyone thinks and just do what you need to do for you, absolutely amazing things start to happen.

I value your honesty. You're so real... I appreciate that. I feel it's a quality not easily found these days. I have had my share of loss.... as most of us have. I lost my son to addiction almost 12 years ago... and watched my mom slowly die from dementia in 2020 .... and in 2021 I held my dad's shattered hand as the nurse removed him from life support. I know exactly what you are saying when you talk about having to get away. Unfortunately I have two small dogs who are my responsibility so I am not able to get up and walk away. But you most definitely have my full attention! I am so enjoying your videos. If I only had myself to care for I most definitely would not be doing what I am doing right now. Thank you so much for sharing. Also, thank you for the links. I do meditate daily but am hoping to step it up a bit. I have been doing yoga daily for the past 30+ years. Yoga is a meditation for me. Thanks again for sharing so much of you.

Thank you for the kind words! 🥰 Mediation can be tough since we live in such a fast paced world, but it has gotten me though a lot still is. You got this! 💪

This age we are at 50ish is transition (more difficult for some than for others). While we all say that loss is part of life, boy it hurts like hell. On the bright side, we start to slow down and have time to appreciate other things... yesterday my wife and I were out for a walk and I just saw the most beautiful sunset ever, then it struck me... have I given myself the time to enjoy sunsets? Let's give ourselves the time to enjoy it ALL.

I live in Florida, and I love to go to the park and swing on the swingset and watch the sunset. Occasionally, I get out there for sunrise, but there’s nothing like a good sunset. And I love swinging. Makes me feel like I’m a kid, 😊 that’s my dopamine hit.. 😂

It’s amazing when we start to see life that isn’t it? We spent a lot of our life making things more difficult than they need to be.

Thank you for sharing Julia and I hope you enjoy your 22 days there on Ko Samui. I have similar experiences dealing with grief as I am a few years older. Bittersweet is a very appropriate term for describing the loss of a loved one. The loss is painful and confusing but the understanding that their suffering has ended is comforting. Unfortunately, these growing pains of maturing can be intense and time does not erase this sorrow, but time does afford one the space needed to heal. You are a brave and thoughtful lady and wish you much success in finding the peace you seek.😊

I don't think I know how to grieve. I am just numb I lost both of my parents in July 2016 (mom 7/4 and dad 7/30). I lost my house 3 months later. I lost my oldest brother in August 2020 and then my oldest sister in September 2022. At this point I am just waiting to see what happens next. I am planning to relocate to SEA in Jan. 2026. I plan to spend a lot of time at the Buddhist Temple and at the seaside. Hopefully I can find my joy again.
