Wow, thank you for the video. That probably saved me two hours of puttering around. I'm glad I decided to search for this.

Saw another video where the technician said with the replacement door you don't need the heater because they are no longer used. REALLY? Glad you showed how to transfer it. There's a REASON for the door heater.

Thank you very much for such excellent information! I'm disassembling my refrigerator to do a general service and I didn't know what it was for, I also think it's damaged. Thank you for posting this video that will now help me solve my problem

Must be some slight changes in model years, my pin went in from right to left instead of left to right. I had to pull it to the right and it had a clip on the end that had to be pried off first. I didn't replace the door, just used your instructions to take it apart for cleaning. I do place to replace the door soon, but I see that the replacement uses a different material and they actually say the heater is no longer needed. Good stuff, thanks for sharing.

I followed the video. Removed as seen. Problem was putting it back. My fault. when replacing the heater, I had a time attempting to separate the foam. I couldn't get to the backing off the gray foam's liner to get to the heater. Had to use a razor blade. Finally got it. Ice flap is 23 years old. Putting back the pin on the metal spring. I spent 2 hours F.... bombing and stopped. Following morning I got up, ;look at it, and took me 5 minutes to install properly. I forgot that I was suppose to start inserting the pin from the right side then to the left. After that a piece of cake. By the way, I watched the video 5 times.

We can certainly do our best to find you that part. Can you send or post the broken part as well as include the model number of your refrigerator. Thanks!

Great video. The toughest part was the first step of removing the trim. From there, it took me about 30min. Even though my door was closing, the foam on the inside of the door was warn allowing warm air to enter the ice maker causing melting/freezing. The new door should resolve this issues. I was hesitant to replace the plunger since it appeared to be working fine. When I did, I notice the plunger now allows the door to close after 10 seconds (or so). I’m not sure if this is less likely to allow the last ice cube to get caught or not.

It is. My chute kept filling up with crushed ice, and I had to keep clearing it. I attributed it to the door closing almost instantly thus not allowing the last of the ice to dispense. Each use would allow more ice to accumulate. I just replaced my plunger, so time will tell. But the door now closes MUCH more slowly. So hopefully this will allow ALL the ice to drop through the chute before it closes.

I have a broken part on my door and can't seem to find the part ... My nephew broke it one day while he was visiting. I took a photo from your repair video to point out which it is ... could you help me find it?

Why dont you just use tape to attach the part to the door and then WORK WITH BOTH HANDS FREE?

How do I know if this will fix the problem I am having? most of the time it clicks but does not dispense ice? When it does finally dispense ice, after pressing multiple times, it's like a fully automatic ice shooting machine.
