I think that those grafted wine are geographic specific. I'm not sure if you import them from Mexico will survive in your climate. I give you one example. I got some grafted wine rutstocks from Germany and planted them in Romania and did not survived the climate change. Germany is only 1000 km away and still was a big difference for the plants. My advise will be, you better find some local vineyards and get some branches and put them to to root. In this way you'll be 100% sure that they grow well. It's easy to do. I'll give you one good tip! Find a willow tree and collect some new branches (has to be this year grow) and smash them with a hammer on a concrete block or something hard. Cut the in small peaces and put them in a jar. Add some fresh water to the top and leave it for 24 hrs. After that deep your branches in the jar and let them there for few weeks. Will root 100%. Plant them where you intend to grow them. Willow tree has a perfect natural root grow hormone. You don't have to buy any chemicals. Just try it. It works with any plants, trees cuttings! Let me know if you succeed!
@@SpiderF27 really ? the climate difference between Germany and Romania isn't so big. Ok there are different climate spots in every country. I think you got colder winter and a better summer? On RUclips there are examples where German plants were used in Norway. Harvesting of cause is not good every year. Once established it will work. Got some Hungarian (dont know the name something like muskat) in my German garden. When ripened the whole garden smells like them. I like them because the hard shell - no pests and the wasp got no chance to eat them. I' m also skeptical that cuttings from Spain or even Mexico work here because of the longer growing period. Our growing period is interrupted because of late frost end of April.
@@siegfriedkeller2727 It may grow but i think it needs a gradual acclimatization. That Muskat (Ottonel?) is by far my favorite. It smell good, it taste good and you can grow them for consumption and can make a brilliant wine too. I have this specimen in my vineyard in Romania. It's old already but still going. That was the one i wanted to renew with a similar brand from Rhine Valley and didn't work out. I think i have to start growing new rutstoks from my own vineyard.
It is an organic disinfectant to insure that grafted vines and their roots are free from disease. I am student of International Wine Business in Austria and we visited a nursery in the area where I got the chance to observe the whole process. I asked the same question and the manager answered that to me, but he did not specify what kind of disinfectant it was. Hope it helps.
