Limited players don't really get big followings, Dafore was rank #1 for Bloomburrow and he has 1.5k subs. If you wanna be a big Magic content creator you have to do OMEGA CLICKBAIT WOW BEST DECK EVER MUST WATCH THIS BROKE STANDARD nonsense like CovertGoBlue.
One of the most genuine, talented and wholesome M:tG content creators for sure. This has been my favorite season in a LONG time, maybe ever? Watching Paul, LSV, and Kenji vying for #1 has been such a treat.
MTGA players/viewers prefer standard Bo1 significantly more than draft and other forms of limited. Its just how it is, bet he would spike in viewership if he played random standard decks every day instead.
30k subs is really good for mtg limited content. I was surprised when I saw Nummy has under 100k, especially when some random joke channels I follow (non-mtg have closer to a million)

Thanks man, very inspiring. I had a super tilting day yesterday and i am considering quitting mtg.. But your enthusiasm makes me reconsider. I'll go back an analyse my draft and games, check what i could have done differently.
Paul trying to find his lane...swerves in and out of everyone elses lane to grab all the good stuff 😊. How you manage to still make it work shows your prowess as a drafter and player. I am too hesitant to splash a third color.

Looks like they probably would've done what they did anyways, but maybe fungus on board would be better? In any case, solid comeback for the win!
The play from 35:00 on was a little startling, but reasonably I would say next turn you exile The Swarmweaver with Final Vengeance so they can't get that back and since the Balustrade Wurm had a finality counter you use Live or Die to put that into exile as well, leaving your opponent with 5 power on the board so that even a normal removal spell on your manifest doesn't kill you.
Fantastic draft! You didn’t mention it in the last match, but Twitching doll doesn’t care what type of counters and it already had 3 from the weight room. Not sure if it would’ve mattered but it could’ve been another out if you didn’t block with it.
@haumph Every card in this set is like that. Slasher dies forever if it has a +1/+1, vessel will give a bigger spirit if it dies while stunned. And reluctant role model will pass on any kind of counter except finality I guess.
Not sure if it would have changed the line at the end of the game, but your twitching doll would have created 4 2/2s if you’d flipped it and tapped it and sacced it the next turn. Because the existing +1/+1 counters count when resolving the second ability. You probs knew that, but it is an interaction I see a lot of people forgetting. Same thing applies for unwilling vessel when it dies.
I had a blue green deck that had like no good cards somehow except for entity tracker and threats around every corner. Threats did so much work. Especially cause I also had an expropriate. Gotta do what you gotta do when your deck kinda sucks. The expropriate won me 2 games tho so was decent actually.
There is deck strength matching but not intentionally, if that makes sense. You get matched against decks with the same record as yours. So you’ll notice when you draft that if you get two wins right away, your third match will be against a very tough deck. This makes sense because your opponent is also 2-0 so obviously they have a strong deck Now, if we’re talking conspiracies, there are way too many times in draft where I draw literally 7 or more lands in a row which is statistically almost impossible
Do you mind explaining your reasoning on the drop of red/skipping over the 13 health lands? I saw a lot of jund lands and you have a lot of red, so wouldn't that push you to jund? I know in draft, it is often a good idea to splash (responsibly) for bombs, but you splashed for the blue 2-drop. Is that so good that it is a bomb level card to splash for? Not poking holes in any of your decisions, just trying to learn!
At 1:28:25, I’m pretty surprised you value the Snatcher over the Twitching Doll, even though you can’t flip both on the blocking turn, you can make it to your next turn with Doll and Broodspinner activations both up for maximum number of blockers.
Do you think the blue splash was necessary with this deck? I don't recall the payoff being that great, though the Vanish from Sight definitely saved you against the Balustrade Wurm. Somewhat curious to see how the draft would have gone if you had taken the P1P3 Nowhere to Run instead of the Painter's Studio

That 3rd game was mega rough. I know its not true but I really feel like deck strength matchmaking is a thing in b01 drafts.
There is deck strength matching but not intentionally, if that makes sense. You get matched against decks with the same record as yours.

Since you missed it last draft as well so maybe you're not aware, the big eyeball on your own card(s) means that the opponent knows what it is.
