    Trust Waldichuck for Game 6 with Michael as the backup option

  • @burnboy37

    Gotta point out what a crazy start Logan Gilbert had, through 4 IP he recorded 9 strikeouts(!). That would set the record for most strikouts through 4 innings in Postseason history. The previous record being 8, a tie between Bob Gibson in the 1968 WS and Sandy Koufax in the 1963 WS. Only difference is that Gilbert didn't pitch beyond the 5th whereas both Gibson and Koufax struckout 15+ batters in complete game gems.
    Glad the A's season keeps going! Love seeing the baseball content continue to grow.

    How depressing is it that the Athletics have won every single game in which they scored at least three runs in the postseason, and they struggle mightily to get there.
    All it takes is three runs, and yet that is a challenge for this once high flying offense.

  • @Dran_Kito

    Both pitchers are going to have to pitch if you want to win the series so you might as well pitch them in the order that gets them both at their best.

  • @CadChamberlain

    This team needs more power. Too often we see Arraez, Cabrera, or Don hit flyballs at ideal launch angles but at like 80 mph off the bat. Manny Reyes obviously will help, but another corner outfielder that can allow Cabrera to platoon would be ideal.

    I would go with waldichuck in game 6. Regardless, waldichuck will need to win game 7 if Michael wins game 6, imo you might as well put kenny in for game6, so that if you win you can get a 100% joe Michael for game 7. Starting joe in game 6 at 85% stamina is not optimal when both him and waldichuck will need to play regardless the next 2 games

      It's probably nothing but a false equivalency, but a part of me can't help but think back to how last ALCS ended with us going all-in on a less-than-100% Michael and coming up empty-handed. Tough choice any way you slice it.

    Just finished up the game and I have just THREE things to say
    Gotta score more then 1 run thru 9 innings if you wanna win series like this. Also please don't start Joe Michael in game 6 you made that same mistake last year. And most importantly... GO A's

  • @tyranttracergaming
    @tyranttracergaming 11 месяцев назад +19

    Cane, have you thought about an opener? You could throw out Eli Morgan or Andre Pallante as a opener and then put in Joe Michael, since he isn’t full stamina

  • @lololo4809
    @lololo4809 11 месяцев назад +4

    If he is willing to take less than 10 mil Carlson would be an amazing defensive replacement, plus he basically turns into Barry Bonds come October so you should consider keeping him. If you do, change his primary position to RF. He's mostly played there anyway and is kinda slow for a CF so he lacks the range

  • @GrantThomas0
    @GrantThomas0 11 месяцев назад +2

    I know the series is still going on and the A’s still have a shot at the WS but here is my thoughts on where this team should go. My opinion on where this team should go. This all depends on Vlady declining his player option or trading Vlady. If we remember when scouting Cruz he had catcher as a secondary position but The Show has a glitch in scouting where secondary positions don’t transfer sometimes. I think we give that back to Cruz and move him to catcher. Manny Rayes should then move to DH and Soderstrom move to 1B because his defense is better than Reyes. Don stays in Center with Cabrera in RF and we go sign a really good defensive LF because our outfield defense is not very good.

  • @lololo4809

    I’d start Kenny instead of Joe. Use Joe as a break in case of emergency. If Kenny runs into any trouble then pull but the fresher arm typically goes better than throwing out the tired arm. But both are totally viable

      We pitched Joe on short rest last year and it eliminated us.
      Waldichuk can give us 5 fine.
      We have to pitch them both to win the series so we might as well get them both at their best.

    Heart-breaking game of missed opportunities on offense. Sending Carlson to stretch a double amounts to making a chump of your own playoff hero. Perfect example of how Greed Kills. If there was a game-6, my starter would've definitely been Waldichuk... but this being a non-spoiler comment, I can only say... Cheers

    A defining thing of this series has been Baltimore being able to produce offense. Tonight, while they had some stellar pitching, offense wise they couldn't get going. Hopefully that will continue for Game 6. Additionally, I would go with Waldichuck to start with Michael as his (potential) reliever. That way if you don't use Michael start him Game 7 (if possible). Regardless, take care and looking forward to many more videos yet to come.

  • @Midknight13
    @Midknight13 11 месяцев назад

    2 things:
    1) Vasquez has earned that potential bump 100%
    2) Ken Waldichuck has played lights out and should get Game 6. You should have the arms back to support him if need be.

  • @zikalokof1challenge414

    Swear to God we had 5+ fouled homers in this game. Good thing Cane timed up perfeclty the most important of them... Also don't start Joe, the saying goes "those who don't learn from history are doomed to repeat it". Its better to have a 100% Waldichuk considering the left on left matchups and have your ace 100% for the most important game

  • @vincentboldenjr.7593

    There was a player for the 2010s Portland Bravers, AAA of the Padres. He would almost always strike out or hit into a double play. The Vlad Jr. of this post season reminds .e of him.

    For game 6 I think Waldichuk is the better choice, the bullpen will be rested so Ashby can back him up if he gets into trouble. Then you have Michael at 100% for game 7.

    You can't lose the series in game 6 with your best player on the team sitting in the dugout. Gotta pitch Michael in game 6 and just let him go as long as he's effective. Waldichuk is pefectly fine to pitch a game 7. Gotta get there first!

    The double play As survive another one, I’ll say prioritizing pitching in the early years of the franchise is paying off tremendously I’m hoping they can push this to a game 7, i say start Kenny game six and have the demon on the mound for game 7, like most people have already said you gotta win both anyways so better to start Kenny now so you can have Joe fully rested

    Honestly, having a somewhat consistent batting order would probably help ur hitters. I understand changing it up when guys struggle etc, but u always want ur power bats 2-6, esp 2-4. Vargas been terrible at leadoff, maybe move him to 7-9 w Arraez @ 1-2 , & why put Tyler 8th? He should hit 2-6 every game he plays imo.
    Oh and good job forcing game 6!

    So, when are we going to discuss Aaron Don batting stance because at this point it’s pretty clear to me that Cane can’t hit with him like at all. He has great ratings and is basically a carbon copy of arraez who does very well so the only thing could be the batting stance, and it matters even more because when cane’s playing with he is absolutely horrible, he cannot get a hit with him at all. I think we even need to change his stance before the next game or in the off-season because as long as his stance is the way it is right now cane will never be able to hit him
