We are going to rent a boat…. Kind of nervous about it we haven’t a clue about what we’re doing (except for what we’ve learned from watching you video’s.) but we will look good, lol, we bought some of your shirts and a few other things. Good advice… especially on quality equipment. I think for many folks… especially younger and more novice folks ( we’ve all been there).. you have to say a qualified “ buy the best you can afford) and have that philosophy ad you grow older, more financially capable and more experienced. Really, the quality thing’ is no different than cars, boats , refrigerators.. or anything. As usual, you make some very good pints Clay. Thanks!

I went out last week just after that small front went through. Planned to fish the edge of the reef after catching live bait. Took me two hours to drum up a handful of live baits on the patch reef. Fished the edge for two hours with no success. I then moved on the troll from the edge to 350’ used a diving plugs and two ballyhoo on islanders on the top found some birds and weed lines but no fish. Went home busted and fished for almost seven hours. Change in weather can turn em on or off for sure. Was a bit depressed after all that prep and effort. Great tips
Ok the normal guy has 5 days to fish in the keys bringing his boat down. What would be the top ten prep things before heading down for fishing? What runs every month, Mahi sailfish yellow tail and the rest. Remembering most have made lodging arrangement months in advance. Love your Channel wear your gear all the time.
Tip 1 : Not everyone has money to spend on fishing dip. More expensive doesn't always mean better paying more for your hook doesn't make it stronger picking the proper hook does.
In some cases yes more expensive does mean a better product, however I can’t disagree with you. Use what works best for you a cheap hook is better than no hook. Appreciate your input 👍🏼

Tips are right on and based on true experience. Simple to follow specially if you are a beginner.
invest and wear ear plugs to cut down on wind noise and the screaming of the motors ,FLW outdoors had a article on hearing loss and anglers years back
