Do The Do that makes no sense. If that was the case then he wouldn’t even be in the competition.
@@1dogissky they're not going to say "hey you one dude, no competing in the competition, only you are excluded". They're not going to give a dancer first place when the entire point of it is to do this thing you don't normally do but can really help on the field and that people would normally be embarrassed about, but no one (except that guy) knows what they're doing so no one's going to be judging you or making fun of you, it's a team thing.
Do The Do still makes no sense. They just set him up for disappointment, it’s an unfair competition. They should at least let him judge or something.
Darius was ABSOLUTELY CHEATED. This was a dance competition and he looked like an actual dancer. Come on!
Thank you all for your comments good bad snd indifferent. My son Darius danced from age 3-18. At that same time he also played football, basketball, soccer, baseball, wrestled snd ran track. He’s the baby of 5. He will be 21 next month. If someone wants to share this with Ellen I would not be mad! Smiles
He enjoyed participating in this fundraiser for 2 years. He’s now a junior in college playing football as a starting varsity wide receiver studying exercise physiology and pre physical therapy to become our family’s first doctor.
Again thank you for all the comments. Proud momma right here! And his father is looking down proud from the heavens. His father passed when he was 11 years old.

If Darius had started from a young age, he could have *FOR SURE* had a career in ballet.

VeeNeks Jibelito i don’t know they didn’t really show anything from the winner but from what I saw he looked good too. His moves didn’t seem to be as difficult as Darius’, but he had a nice flow and good execution.

My neighbor's son danced from a young age as did his sisters. He danced all through high school along with playing football and went on to play for Navy while at the Naval Academy. One of his sister's won state titles at track and field and his other sister is a professional dancer. He was big enough that I don't think that too many people gave him a hard time and he credited dancing with helping his football skills.

thank you for posting this video - I am using it on Monday to educate three 5th-grade boys who have been teasing a classmate all year for studying dance, calling him all kinds of names and disparaging the skill it requires.

It makes sense though. Many of the Dancing With The Stars contestants and winners were NFL wideouts. Technique and precision. Mad respect for football players and ballet dancers.

I have a friend who auditioned performed in the nutcracker, who now does football.
I don’t know how they’re doing there, but I have a feeling they’ve got the strength and the skill to do really really well now.

My brother plays Football but he used to do ballet with me when we were younger cause I didn’t like doing things alone and all so he followed me, picked it up, went on to Grade 10 and went into Football. They had something like this recently and he pretended like he never did it b4 but when they taught him to do some moves he did it flawlessly and everyone thought that he was a genius or something

I think they wanted typical non-dancer football players. Perhaps they felt he was too good and that he was actually already a dancer. Like perhaps he had an unfair advantage of already being a dancer. He did say something about being from a dancing family, and that dancing was important to him. That's my guess because they asked him if he was a professional dancer...

Here late but just wanted to say I personally apologize to Darius for him not winning, even tho I was not a judge and have never been to this town.
