A quick tip if you soldier the wires together before you heat shrink the wires your connection won't come apart , if you don't soldier them your twisted wires will work them selfs loose after a while, I do quite a bit of automotive wiring, hope this helps anyone else out
10 points for effort, 3 points for execution. You need to clean up that wiring. You should use black wire at least for the negative and you could have found a screw already holding something behind the grill to ground to.
Do NOT try to do what this guy did (the connection part). You need to have strong connections. Always solder the cables, it's not enough to only twist them, even if you use shrinking tube. Put some cable terminals at the ends that goes to battery positive (+) and battery negative (-). ATTENTION! A loose cable might cause a short circuit resulting in a fire. Be safe! It might seem easy to do but it's not that simple. If you don't know what you're doing then take the car to a person that knows.
The tubing is actually called shrink wrap heat tubing. Also, you should always use same color wire meaning black to black and red to red so that you don’t make a mistake connecting. This guy has good intentions, but need some more years of experience.
I got one of these on my audi a4 but the led light looks like its chipping small pieces it looks like rocks may have done it. Have you had this problem in like 2-3 months of having the light? It makes it look bad quality/ cheap so im going back to original audi emblem
I have the same issue !!! Got a set from Raymax Luminous Gear, Nov 2019 for US $ 100.00 and had an audio installer put them on. They used the left DRL as the source so they were on all the time, just hard to see in the daytime. At night, they stayed on all the time as the DRL does not go out at night. Looked fantastic, for about 3 weeks. Rain snow and I guess carwash got into the LED's and they started to die and rust. Was not pretty, contacted Raymax and to their credit, they sent another set (under warranty) . Had a different guy put them on, I waterproofed them as best I could this time. However 3 months later, they are chipping and dying and clearly rusting again. looks like crap, whaich is too bad cause they looked really really sharp. Unless they come up with a better build quality, (not sure why they can't weather proof the LED's and use better quality plastic) , I'd advise you to save your $$$ and stay away from them.
I just used a flathead and a trim removal tool. I used the flat head to keep the emblem from going back into place and I used the trim removal tool (like a plastic flathead) to pry the emblem off.
Im trying to do the same for a 2019 Audi A5. Do you know what number on the headlight socket I should tap into? The manufacturer said it should be the low beam, but i cant find the headlight socket diagram anywhere. Any help/info would be appreciated. Ty
Once you have the plug use a multimeter to find out which one of the wires has a voltage when your headlights are on and when your drls are on. Identify them both and once you know which ones are your main headlights then just tap into that wire instead.
I read a lot of bad reviews on the light as far as it not lasting more that 3-6 months and that it starts fading, would you still rec spending the money?
If you check out my latest mod video I took the emblem off for that reason. It’s a fun little project to take to a couple car meets but for the appearance it does look tacky after some time. It doesn’t matter how expensive or cheap you go with them because they all start to peel after some time.
Это очень некачественный товар, спустя пол года хром слетает от жары или мойки, диоды, драйверы и сама схема перегорают от высокой температуры от двигателя и жары летом. А так штука прикольная, мне нравилась
There should be two filled in spots on the honeycomb grill with 2 little holes where the badge holder should go. They blend in well with the grill but it should be there. Once you find the mounting point grab two washers and two bolts to mount it.

Dude I wish a I was as smart as you 😭 well done so dope
Awesome! Very educational and straight to the point

Would also help to learn how to solder - I cringed at the "twisting" together of cables.

Nicely done!

How did you take old emblem off?

per tutte le audi?
is there a way to do it so they only turn on with the headlights not the daytime running lights?
Yes if you go in your cars settings, go to exterior lighting, go to daytime running lights and turn them off
Once you have the plug use a multimeter to find out which one of the wires has a voltage when your headlights are on and when your drls are on. Identify them both and once you know which ones are your main headlights then just tap into that wire instead.
Link?😊
Is the honeycomb grill stock or is it aftermarket??

Clear coat
Nice effort but you need a lot more experience in wiring buddy. Your methods can cause a shirt circuit or fire hazard.
Hey man tried to view your comment but it was gone lol. You were saying the lamin x headlight reflector delete?
Echt eine stümperhafte installation...
Thought u were making crack wires for a sec
Is this the chasing dynamic version?

Hi Gio, can you tell me how do you mounted the badge holder to the grill?? I can't figure it out. Tks

OMG
An die BRDler: Ist das bei uns zugelassen?
cant you just ground the negatif to any metal part of the chasis?
Yeah that was just my choice of placement
Está prohibido
Dónde está prohibido?
En España seguro ya q lo va de serie y sino tendrás q homologarlo y eso si te dejan
When semi expensive cars drop in value it never fails they come out in full force to do stupid shit to them.
You need to work on your narration or work on a voice over, you speaking starts getting frustrating how patchy you stop and go
