Gday Anthony. Thanks for the comments. Some of these come up better than others and this briggsy was no exception as the paint didnt turn out great. Mans gotta have a hobby and its cool that your into mowers and old engines. They're a lot of fun.
Another fantastic achievement Mick. You really do a great job of these videos and I have learnt a lot from the master. I am on my way to Maryborough tomorrow to pick up a BSA that has been stripped and never reassembled, I plan to use it for spares, And I have also bought one from Western vic which I am having delivered for free, I will do that one up as well. My original has a crook coil in the magneto and is a Wico Series A, so I hope the Lucas that I am getting off the engine tomorrow will interchange. Like you say Mick. It’s all about having fun. Take care mate and keep away from that China Virus. 😅
Gday Neil Thanks for the kind words once again. Maryborough is a nice town and ive done some prospecting around there. Half your luck being able to get out and get some engines. Im all out of motors and no projects to do. Sounds like the BSA is progressing. Cant wait to see a video. Regards Mick
Just a though that i had and i cant remember if there a cuped washer that goes between the flywheel and nut i know for a fact that some briggs and scrapumm used them you got yours looking good
Gday Brian. Youre probably correct. It was a while ago that I did this engine but its quite possible that there should be a locking device of some sort. Thanks.
Gday Jake. A you know the nut needs to be removed. I just used a lever between the flywheel and housing, applied pressure with the lever without damaging anything then gave a sharp blow to the end of the crank with a hammer. The flywheel popped of easily. Some heat around the shaft area of the flywheel will also help. Good Luck.

Rebuilding a 23d can't seem to get flywheel off. How do you do it?
