tldr: Kaleid is definitely worth checking out once you're familiar with the franchise, it's one of the best the Fate series has to offer basically Fate/Kaleid Liner Prisma Illya is a great litmus test for if people should stick with the Nasuverse cuz out of all the Nasuverse titles, it's one of the few where not a single minor has sexual intercourse so it kinda eases people into the franchise if they were to start with it, memes aside it also gets better the more you know about the franchise and universe as a whole, so revisiting it later down the line can be super fun, also based on how much someone likes it's very easy to tell how much about the Nasuverse they actually know lol of course starting with it still isn't recommended as it references and uses lore, story elements and characters from Stay Night, Hollow Ataraxia, Tsukihime, Notes and technically also Case Files without explaining most of them so starting it after those titles would make more sense, though Stay Night, Hollow Ataraxia and Tsukihime are the only ones you really need, i'd say the most enjoyment one can get out of it is watching the anime first and then reading the manga, the anime has the advantage of having all the voice actors from Stay Night,Hollow Ataraxia and Tsukihime while also having one of the best soundtracks out of all Fate anime with only the Deen's Fate route anime ever surpassing it but then again that anime has like top 3 best soundtracks in all of anime history in the first place lol reading the manga afterwards has the advantage of giving some additional context becuase while the Prisma Illya anime is probably the second best in terms of adapting a Fate title into anime, with only Zero managing to be more of an improvement of the source material, it also skips a few details here and there, certainly far from ufotable level butchering but still enough to make you think it's a plot hole, if you stop to think about it that is in terms of quality it's character writing is definitely it's strongest point, just like the usual Fate title, overall it does a really great job of fitting with the Fate atmosphere and overall tone, mostly light hearted but still dark and depressing at times, it's originality might be it's biggest weakpoints but it could also be argued that that is it's strength, it doesn't really come up with new concepts or lore, instead it relies on the things you'd already be familiar with and doesn't have to spend too much time on explanations, similar to how it handles characterization and thematic writing, like Fate/Zero it builds off of already in Stay Night and Hollow Ataraxia established qualities in those aspects but unlike Fate/Zero it avoids retreading the same things from those titles or rewriting already established stuff to fit it's narrative, overall i'd say Kaleid is probably the third best title from specifically the Fate part of the Nasuverse, pretty big gap between it and Hollow Ataraxia & Stay Night though, but that's par for the course i suppose
Its great but it also for first few seasons is mainly slice of life with some fights but what some people cant stomach is the kissing yuri things since it used for comedy and gaining mana at times, others dont mind it and can just look past it because it is great with some of the best refrences and setting but its still a thing people get botherd by.@@hamzahax

It's quite a bit away from the core Fate canon, so plenty people just skip it entirely. You should check out Tsukihime openings and endings too if you want to watch Carnival Phantasm anime since the Tsukihime characters are in that too and they are all related to each other and created by the same person making Fate. She's also a bit of a deviant that sees no issue with perverted acts since she's not technically human.

seing people get tonal wiplash from kaleid liner is so fun, it's so random to see a magical girl opening come out of nowhere in the playlist and it always confuse everyone to bad the anime had to make fanservice out of very much not legal characters, the story in the later part get as good if not better than mainline fate (funnely enought it get good when the old characters somehow hijack the show and the magical girls are nowhere to be seen)

Look man... original fate saty night was an eroge visual novel.. meaning a video game novel... that was basically porn with really heavy plots. It has 3 ending, fate(where shiro ended up with sabe), unlimited blade works(where he ended up woth rin), and heaven's feel (where he ended up with sakura). Studio DEEN turned the fate route/ending into an anime and unlimited blade works as a movie. Later Ufotable turned unlimited blade works into an anime (fucking masterpiece), also fate zero which was vasically made just to create a background info for the people in fate stay night. They also made the movies of heaven's feel. That's the reason why if you wanna watch fate... just watch ufotable's unlimited blade works and fate zero then heaven's feel... then just watch any shit after wards.... the ones made by DEEN was kinda... meh... also don't worry all the fucking turned into mana transfer in the anime i think...

seing people get tonal wiplash from kaleid liner is so fun, it's so random to see a magical girl opening come out of nowhere in the playlist and it always confuse everyone
to bad the anime had to make fanservice out of very much not legal characters, the story in the later part get as good if not better than mainline fate (funnely enought it get good when the old characters somehow hijack the show and the magical girls are nowhere to be seen)

22:15 The actual anime is much weirder, it gets better as it goes on (s3 and the movie just after are great) but s1 and s2, while they have their moments, can get really weird at time and not always in a good way.
Also I know the fate series you said was sus....i understand it comes off super weird from the trailer or ops but I promise it is one of the best fates 😅

Look man... original fate saty night was an eroge visual novel.. meaning a video game novel... that was basically porn with really heavy plots. It has 3 ending, fate(where shiro ended up with sabe), unlimited blade works(where he ended up woth rin), and heaven's feel (where he ended up with sakura). Studio DEEN turned the fate route/ending into an anime and unlimited blade works as a movie. Later Ufotable turned unlimited blade works into an anime (fucking masterpiece), also fate zero which was vasically made just to create a background info for the people in fate stay night. They also made the movies of heaven's feel. That's the reason why if you wanna watch fate... just watch ufotable's unlimited blade works and fate zero then heaven's feel... then just watch any shit after wards.... the ones made by DEEN was kinda... meh... also don't worry all the fucking turned into mana transfer in the anime i think...
