Dude this is like the mount Rushmore of reggae artists in one singing one of the biggest reggae legends song. Like series heavy hitters of the roots and the dub in one. Just wow, i never thought id see something like this. Thank you
Hello from switzerland, i saw all of these great musicians live in concert, but never together, great, perfect, thanks for doing this on youtube, respect...
I have seen all these stars live in concert, but never heard about this all star project. great music, great memories, reggae at its best. reggae forever....
I've still got this session on a VHS tape somewhere in the house. Channel 4, especially in their early years, used to show some cracking reggae documentaries. I have quite a few (mainly The Tube) still. Unfortunately, some have also been stolen by my 'so called friends!' As far as I'm aware, this track has never been released. It should have been achievable, all involved in the session except for Dennis Brown had some affiliation to Island records at the time.
Kings! Dean Fraser - tenor sax, Chico Chin - trumpet and Nambo Robinson on trombone! RIP Dennis Brown (1999), thank you for not cutting out tenor saxophonist Dean Fraser's solo as another youtube video does. (You did cut David Hinds' singing though at the end. Thank you for posting, much respect to all the artists in this video. Bless up, "Get Up, Stand Up" Fraser is the correct spelling, but you will often see it with a z.
These are classic artists to those who think Buju is in the mix. He was not even rasta during these times. That is fab Brisith reggae artists Steele Pulse and Aswad, The Crown Prince D. Brown, and Ini Kamoze. This is my song for Barrack Obama!
Sandra Mills Aswad worked with DB on loads of stuff. They that are singing with him there have all cited him amongst a favourite of theirs. I think more like trying to impress him than anything.
You can't. As far as I'm aware, this was never released. The Tube on Channel 4 (A UK TV channel) broadcasted this circa the mid to late 80's as one of their look at reggae music in the UK and Jamaica. Rasorder and I happened to have a VCR machine in the day recording the show was how you got this particular song. It ends suddenly because the show cuts to Jools Holland, one of the presenters.
Aswad were very good in early 80s, i see them a few times, live and direct album era, i went to see them after their pop sucsess and it was a very poor show, still, they were good, once upon a time,. For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul?? 💰🌍🎵😢
Dennis Brown's voice is pure heaven!
RIP Robbie Shakespeare!! Great musician

All of my favourite reggae artists together. But, to be honest, it doesn't even come close to Bob's or Peter's version.
I don't think that was ever the intention ? It is quite clear that it was a tribute ?
