I don't know. A few cringe moments. When he gets bested by Melissa, he falls relies on sxl innuendos too much and physical comedy to get back the upper hand. He didn't do that with the men he interviewed. I think maybe, taped and edited is the best for Jiminy, live is too risky. 😁

Happy to be a part of the new discovery of his, top notch, work. I knew his name but have been loving all of the new interviews and getting to revisit the older ones. Phenomenal stuff.
Melissa also may have sent a gentle message when she mentioned that she was surprised there weren’t lawsuits. Martin was on the edge a few times. Someone less a “good sport” might have a very legitimate beef.
I love Melissa so much, she is a national treasure, and I laughed so hard here I almost peed my pants. Much needed!! Melissa can literally do anything! So talented!
Her portrayal of Spicer was one of the best things on SNL. I wish she also could have portrayed him later when he was on Dancing with the Stars - in that neon chartreuse shirt that looked like something Desi Arnaz would have worn singing Babalu!
She ruined the fun. You're not supposed to "hold your own" with Jiminy. She was pointlessly combative and stepped on every possible funny moment. She's the same improv archetype as Michael Scott from that episode of The Office. It was sad. It was cringe. It was a swing and a miss. It was a wet fart in white pants.

Leave it to Melissa to give improv sass right back to Jiminy. I was hoping someone would do it instead of just laughing at everything Marty says, and Melissa delivered as I knew she would. Love her!
She could do that, I don't doubt it, but I'm pretty certain this was rehearsed to some degree and agreed upon in advance (with flexibility and mutual trust for impromptu gags and/or ad lib). I got the sense that she was coming up with responses on the spot, yet it may be testimony to her acting chops, and might not have been as spontaneous as it played. Either way, absolutely fantastic. Near the end a couple times she showed hints of almost breaking, but she is made of titanium and held up amazingly playing straight to his off the charts antics - until it was the perfect time to smile at the end while pulling his tie.

Several of Jiminy's interviewees made him work for his pay but were very smooth and fun to watch. My favorites: Jerry Seinfeld, Conan O'Brien and, believe it or not, John McEnroe.
This was the perfect interview for Glick. She's a doll, she's royalty and she played it perfectly. I'm glad they did this. She's amazing and he's incorrigible. I'm very interested in season 4.
