I just order my infantry to hold the line, and archers to be just in front of them. Then I tell my cavalry to follow and go off to one side(I always keep super elite cavalry because field battles hinge on them). I wait until the enemy is close, charge with my infantry, then go beside the enemy and charge with everyone sending cavalry into the battle. Works almost every time with few casualties. I defeated King Harlaus and 3 other lords which was around 700 troops, with 100 troops using this strategy. I pretty much decimated all of their military power and took out Klargus, Stamar and Harlaus pretty much destroying their whole faction, it was just mopping up from there.
For me I would usually hold my troops on a defensive position archers on a hill shields in front and I would lead a Cavalry unit the flank from the rear when they get close enough. It makes the commands a lot more fun for me

Thass Landry Hudge Honestly just try to fight defensively on villages. The enemy will only ever charge, in a village in my experience, so you can do a decent job of setting up near a choke with your army and make the numbers not matter, especially if you’re decent at combat.
Easy. 1.) Know which faction you are fighting with. 2.) Have troops that are capable of fighting that faction. 3.) Flank flank flank. If you play with Sarrinids for example against the Nords take master archers, malmuks and Horsemen. Tell everyone to hold and order archers to stop fire at will, place malmuks on one side and order your Horsemen to follow you. Once Nords come into closer position order your archers to fire bows, order your malmuks to charge the nords in the back and with Horsemen you attack their archers. Nord shield wall is good but when heavy cav charges on their backs they will turn around and open themselves up to arrows. However keep in mind that terrain plays very big role here so do not place archers behind the hill because then their range will be useless. So if you start in crappy terrain location where there is alot of hills, trees etc... just move to a much open location also use rivers to your advantage. If you play with Swadia, Sarranids, Vaeigir or Khergit do not use hill height advantage for your ranged because you will limit the support of your own cav. Hills are great at dealing with Cav for infantry not so much especially the ones with shields.
Siege battles also rack up some dense killcounts... I faced 1500 kergit vs 125 of my troops and 300 garrisons in Curaw. We held down 3 assaults until reinforcents arrived and we got a 320 vaegir x 477 Kergit field battle. It was glorious.

My battle advantage is often 0 to -x I usually leave my Swadian Knights to wreck shit and retreat when I feel that my troops are low on health. Fight, kill around 80, retreat, repeat.
ive been trying to figure out how to beat nords while outnumbered and they have top tier huscarls/archers mostly infantry I tried majority knights they get slaughtered if you run in and out, and ive tried matching their infantry still get wrecked while outnumbered. I'm also playing 134% difficulty so i can run in and fight on foot a lot without getting 2-3 shot. Nord Huscarls are sop damn hard to beat when theres 50+ of them plus vassals dont normally follow me as much as dumb charging bandits
I have a main character that is specialized in archery and horse archery, I've been alongside the vaegirs. You better believe that the amount of nord ass I kick is extremely high. I find that you can focus a lot on their right flank were their archers are, clean them up and get a good archer line going with 0-F1-F1 and 0-F2-F1, this puts archers in front, infantry in back and cavalry to the left. Harass the nords and make them turn their shields towards you, run to the backlines and watch the huscarls become porcupines with the amount of arrows in the back. Once they get close, then you are in some trouble, but of you charge at the right time, youll have cleared up most of the troublesome troops and weakened the remaining. Vaegirs are excelent for this... knights have a good impact, marksman can 2 shot almost anything and guard can hold their ground against those huscarls.
have a khergit veteran horse archer division and order them to follow you. position your main army in a good location (open fields since nords will destroy your cavalry in rough terrain) order archers to stand back, infantry in front of them. Cavalry behind archers. Circle around the huscarls with your horse archers, let them exhaust their throwing weapons and also harass them with heavy firepower. When your horse archers run out of ammo or huscarls get too close to your main army, order cavalry to follow you. Get both cavalry and horse archers behind the huscarls and order cavalry horse archers and infantry to charge at the same time. Squeezed at both sides and also harassed by archer arrows, you can annihilate huscarls this way.
I once fought a battle with 62 men against an army of 123, the only reason I won was because my army was mostly knights or veterans, oh and it was almost entirely staffed by Vaegirs
The best plan I’ve had for beating 98% of my mount and blade fights Is to go heavy on heavy armored cav mercenary horsemen, swadian man at arms etc etc, and to have lots of crossbow men and sword men to bring up the rear, I have all my units wait until the enemy arrive then I charge the cav only which usually ends up killing most of them then I charge everyone except archers and crossbow men when I feel comfortable enough with my chances of winning I lose 1-2 men per fight this method it also works way easier on a large slope if the enemy attacks with horse men or just regular men can even be cheesed over water but less likely to work.
Ive just defected from King Ragnar after being his right hand man for pretty much my entire playthrough, i held 90% of the feifs under the Nord Kingdom & i took them with me, i only have enough charisma to command an army of about 130/150 soldiers, 50 of these are Swadian Knights, 40 Huscarls, 40 Rhodok sharpshooters & the rest is a mix of other elite troops.. one of Ragnars lords chased me with 400 men, they all got slain, i lost 2 men. What i do is command the ranged troops to take position on some higher ground, the huscarls i ask to form a line & the cavalry following me while i run around them, slowly picking them off. SUPER EFFECTIVE.
I have either Rhodok or Swadian Sergeants lined up very closely with Sharpshooters. When the opposition gets close enough, I order them to switch to melee combat. Meanwhile, I run in with my Sword of war to completely waste King Yarolek’s army.
My strategy is to take long trips to Nord territories, hire as many recruits as possible, throw them at relatively large forces of sea raiders to weed out the weaklings. I then do the same to Vaegirs and Rhodoks, then to the Swadians. It's really about composition and training to me. With 20 Huscarls, a fuck load of Vaegir and Rhodok Bowmen, and a decent amount of Swadian Cav, I 've been able to take out forces twice my size. The Huscarls are shield walls, they're good at defending from arrows and for every one that dies, about 5 - 15 enemies are taken with them. The Archers being set up on a hill wittle the enemy down. Then i take my horsemen with me to flank them.
I have an army of about 60 - 80 elite troops. It's a mix. Huscarls Hired Blades Mercenary Calvary I pick fights with any army, big or small. I'm trying to drain their resources and imprison their lords and kings. After I bleed them, I take their territory. I rarely lose.
Came searching for help. I am being attacked by the entire nord army (whats left of it) south of Rivacheg. 235 vs 85 ive already won 2 battles and have lost 3 men total. 7 more swadian knights left in my party, other than that its pretty much all Count Ryis's men. at the end of the second battle my health was at maybe 5% at the end, thanks to the nords being so rough in battle. We'll see if i get to keep my two castles, or pay for a vacation with some vengeful jarls.
This is what I also do when my troops battled against the odds: I ordered my forces to stand closer together so that none of other soldiers are killed. So I distract and kill the other opponents and then I order that my Nord forces charge. So they stayed together during combat and not other than my men are killed, so they continuously kill or knock the enemies unconscious. What I do when I ambush enemies: I also ordered my Nord forces to hold a position particularly in a hill or a mountain. And when the enemies get near, they throw axes. Still, when more forces rushed into the hillside, I promptly ordered them to charge, with them standing closer together. Update: I did the most impossible in an important battle. When I was taking an adventure in the desert, I was nearby Terrama Castle and Shibal Zumr. When all of a sudden, I saw that there were ambushing one of my fellow vassals who is working for King Ragnar, meaning my character a Nord vassal. So I ran for help and fight the Sarranid forces until the end. Here is what I did: I faced the entirety of the enemy troops that has the majority belong to Sultan Hakim and his vassals. Then I make my Nord troops stand closer together. Because most of the troops in my party are Nord Huscarls, they took a chance to fight very hard to kill all the Sarranid cavalry composed of Khergit Horse Archers, Lancers, Skirmishers and Sarranid Mamlukes and Horsemen. The battle was 4 rounds in a row. The enemies count as more than 500 and my men count as a hundred. I lost more than 20 men because of the strength of the Huscarls. Now that is why Huscarls are my favorite troops because of strength.
The best advice I can give you is that an army of elite professionals can level any other army that might outnumber it 2:1, I've fought battles where I had 74 men and Swadians had 146 men, a Professional Rhodok Army can easily beat one if it outnumbers 2:1, Most factions will focus on Cavalry if they have it so I target their cavalry and leave the infantry alone since infantry is usually under leveled (think of swad militia and stuff)
Set your archers on a hill , tell them to divide and not gather on a small place that the enemy cannot overroll them. Set infantry 10-20 in front of them . Take cavalry with you and attack the enemy archer. When the enemy infantry arrive tell your infantry to atack while your archer are firing from higher ground. Defend your archer and when injured call your cavalry to follow you so they can help you out. İ use 1 waraxe/hammer , 2 roundshields and a big glefe. ( use the glefe when ther are no archer near youh
I’m the nords and I have mostly nord warriors and there is this castle with three times the amount of troops and they are swadia they have a whole bunch of crossbows what do I do
Ok so I watched this and didn’t think much of it, well we were at war with the Rhodooks and I was raiding a village and after I was leaving the village I ran into an entire war party. So not wanting to back down and lose my all my men I fought them. I had 92 men vs their 314, I had fight three battles and on the third one I was knocked out of commission, leaving my men to have to fight without me. In the end I won, and I used the strategy’s from this video and the comments on it. So it does work
The best tactic i suggest is we put infantry and archers in a line as a distraction and ill lead my cavs around the enemy horde and just ambush them from the left, or behind
Usually what I do is I make my cavalry follow me I leave my archers on a high position along with my infantry because that way whenever the enemy gets to the hill they have to climb up and it slows them down, meanwhile with my cavalry i do a couple hits and runs while the archers rain on them before the enemy gets to the hill, then right as they are about to get to my archers I make the archers fall back and charge my infantry then hit them from behind with the cavalry and trap them and obliterate them
Lol more work than needed here and skill points not dispersed as should be.... try this: stop your army as soon as the battle starts. Order archers to advance 10 paces ( they will hold that postion but preferably on a hill or high ground). Signal the rest of your army to follow you moving them away but not too far to the left or right of your archers (this will make the opposing army steer away from your archers). Hold off on your charge as long as possible to let your archers soften them up squeeze your butt cheeks together and givem hell. Ooohhhh also before starting a fight i like to lable everyone who isn't an archer 1 specific group this will make giving your commands easier and let you leave the archers behind. Good luck
people get 50-100 high tier archers. ull be able to kill everything 0 casualties, just reatreat once they get close to u....(if they get to close u wont be able to retreat.and u lose) its preeety borring but i have won 100 vs 800, 0 casualties normal damage and good ai , but it took like an hour, high tactics skill (10) makes it faster

Nah not much of a problem if you have some good battle hardened cavalry just lead them right and help with that battle since the battle is more dependent on you at first with a negative battle advantage and you’ll win
Me who just uses 100 swadian knights to beat 300 Rush the heroes in, have the cavalry follow me round and circle the first spawns, then have heroes follow whilst the Knights charge I can just charge them but on higher difficulties I'd rather keep most my guys alive
I tried to besiege a castle with the help of King Ragnar. That little bitch left me hanging and didn't join my forces EVEN THOUGH HE SAID HE WOULD and was in a VERY close proximity to the castle!!! My numbers were 41(would have been 174 if Ragnar had decided not to be a bitch) to their 200ish, not even but the odds where still in our favor, my forces slaughtered the enemies killing over 100. Had I not been left basically to hang by King Ragnar the Nord kingdom would have taken a strategic castle that connected the two sides of the Nord kingdom making it so we didn't have to go through enemy territory to get to the other part of the kingdom. I was super pissed, I basically bided my time to escape, escaped, and saved and went to play a different game.
The best tactic is when you have at least 70 Swadian Knights you cant lose battle

I had 92 men vs their 314, I had fight three battles and on the third one I was knocked out of commission, leaving my men to have to fight without me. In the end I won, and I used the strategy’s from this video and the comments on it. So it does work
Everyone knows the true tactic is to go on top of a mountain with 100 rhodok sharpshooters and watch em rain hell.
The best tactic i suggest is we put infantry and archers in a line as a distraction and ill lead my cavs around the enemy horde and just ambush them from the left, or behind
*control + f4
That’s so op
Usually what I do is I make my cavalry follow me I leave my archers on a high position along with my infantry because that way whenever the enemy gets to the hill they have to climb up and it slows them down, meanwhile with my cavalry i do a couple hits and runs while the archers rain on them before the enemy gets to the hill, then right as they are about to get to my archers I make the archers fall back and charge my infantry then hit them from behind with the cavalry and trap them and obliterate them
I had an army full of 72 swadian knights, against 204 rhodoks I won.
Sounds about right
I’ve got a slight problem I’m kinda outnumbered 67 to 894
Switch to minimum battle size and solo your way through
I will maybe upload a video on my channel how to make the best formations so if u guys wanna know you can stay updated
I know a tactic to win when outnumbered just use Swadian Calvary
Whenever you fight against rhodoks you wanna use infantry and archers against them and use your cavalry to hit them from behind
What do you when you're 60 vs 600?
How could you choose troops to attack
CTRL+ALT+F4 ;)
Just do Alt and F4
@thats ridiculous Magik will come and help you, try it your self.
You know it
I am in a condition 153 vs 340 what will i do 😓😓
Lol more work than needed here and skill points not dispersed as should be.... try this: stop your army as soon as the battle starts.
Good luck
I usually just have an army that's composed of 70% cavalry but rn it's 58 vs 200 pls help
people get 50-100 high tier archers. ull be able to kill everything 0 casualties, just reatreat once they get close to u....(if they get to close u wont be able to retreat.and u lose) its preeety borring but i have won 100 vs 800, 0 casualties normal damage and good ai , but it took like an hour, high tactics skill (10) makes it faster
Dude idk y i searched this up, my ultimate army is 6 swaidian knights, 7 swadian sergeants, and 4 crossbow man. My army of 17 once destroyed and army of 200
Bro if your going to make a a guide video dont say "what do i know" at the end have some confidence or dont make the video I feel liie i just wasted 5 minutes.
ur dum
You sound like a pleb but what do I know.
@@dylanhaymore608 me?
@@jacebecker8154 no
I killed an entire village by myself but then the lord of the village came with 400 men wtf do i do
Nah not much of a problem if you have some good battle hardened cavalry just lead them right and help with that battle since the battle is more dependent on you at first with a negative battle advantage and you’ll win
your 2 months late, but I got slaughtered with my 21 men lmao
This is what i do most of the time and i won a battle where i was outnumbered 70 to 440
What do when 56 troops against 964 lmfao
The first step is getting an *army*
My guy I know this is old asl but how the hell do I get my leadership past level 4
Raise charisma
Another good thing is turn the battle size down to 30
Shit i have 70 nord veterans in my party but theres a khanate guy with 300 cavalary trying to kill me
Yeah but only works if your character is op in terms of endurance, if not , you will be killed sooo easy
Once upon a time I fought 120 vs 30 and won with only 10 dead
Or something like that it's been a while
I've done a 163 Vs 571 and won I took 55 prisoners Sargents for the win I lost 47 of them though
difficulty ?
After reading the comments I realize I have no idea what I'm doing
Me who just uses 100 swadian knights to beat 300
Rush the heroes in, have the cavalry follow me round and circle the first spawns, then have heroes follow whilst the Knights charge
I can just charge them but on higher difficulties I'd rather keep most my guys alive
Yeah uhh how about you having 80 troops and the enemy has 700
It’s called kill 300 enemy’s with 30 swadian knights WORKS EVERY TIME I KID YOU NOT
How to win every battle have an army of huscalrs
Siege battles: have an axe
How do you make enemies not retreat.
sergio juarez kill them...
I used to have 70 something top tier cavalry but lost it to a party of 230 fucking enemies I'm still pissed
Broo my character's name is Ali too
Just get 20 swadian nights ez clap 100 troops
I've won a 80 some vs 2 to 3 hundred... trick is on ps4 the whole army doesn't spawn lol just hope it's not your army
When take down the Lord the entire army charges
how do u feint i heard its a good techinque
Probably a little late but if you attack, tap block so it cancels your attack
