The issue with the sports card market going crazy is everyone thinks their old collections are worth a million dollars. From what I saw in this video this collection is worth no where near $8000. The Donovan Mitchell card you showed is not a rookie and worth maybe 10 cents. Still a cool video but I think you are way off on the value.
Not even, try a penny a pound. I meet people at laundromats and have them put one hundred pounds of it on the scale and I give them ten bucks and then have to work hard to get any money out of it. Even if you find some big cards in it it's still your time and work to sell it.
As a seasoned card collector, it is very important to keep your cards stored properly, to keep them in the very best condition possible. The cards in toploaders & mags should hold some decent value, as long as the previous owner took pride in his collecting. That being said, I do have some cheapo PC cards in good holders (penny sleeve, topload & team bag, at least). It kinda looks like they took his prized cards & left the rest. I didn't see any big hits, sorry to say.
Yeah $8k is way too much for that locker. I'd value it at like $800 just by what's shown. Unless I'd seen thick magnetic card holders maybe some high end autographed memorabilia, or early to mid 1900s signs i wouldn't buy a sports card locker.
definitely not going to double your $$$. unless you have some major cards you didn't show, you might be able to get back 3-4k max and will probably take 5-10 months. sorry for your loss. The original owner knew what they where leaving behind. Junk wax not worth anything 😞
$8,000....you should of been out at $800. I agree. If you want an honest guy to give your fair value for those cards without spending a lot of time listing and selling them individually, Chris would be great guy to get a quote from.

11:16 sorry but thats a 2018 prizm donovan mitchell 2nd year card, he was drafted in 2017 not 2018 so that is not a donovan mitchell rc. to identify a panini rookie card you have to look for a shield shaped symbol on one of the corners. in this case, the 2018 prizm rookie card logo is on the top left corner, If you dont see that RC shield logo, its not a rookie card. :)
why are people that "love basketball" still not able to say Giannis properly? He's the best player in the league, has two MVPs and won the Finals last season. Unreal.
I haven't even been through my boxes of cards that I bought in 1999 at a Millionaires Estate Sell. I did see 1960's to 88' Topps, Upper Deck, Donruss, Fleer & Ultra's, NBA Cards but only a few MJ's, Magic & a few others. That old Dude knew what he was collecting. I bought them all for $25! I don't know anything about these cards. lol
I know this was a year ago and you probably wont see this but I love all those football cards I’m a teen don’t have a lot of money but I would love to buy some bulk of those football cards.
That has to be one of the worst storage lockers I have ever seen. $200 worth of cards if that. I love people like this that buy all my junk at my garage sales and know nothing about the market. Yes Kobes and Jordans are worth money but not anything seen in this video. If that was true then I had a pallet of junk wax 5,000 count boxes that I could have retired on. I don’t know what’s worse, that someone actually top loaded all that garbage and actually spent money on a climate controlled storage unit or that someone spent $8000 to clean up their mess.
I said the same thing! It's nothing but $200-300 of junk wax. If he offered to sell me the entire lot for $200 I'd definitely have to think about it, haha.
It's not a 1/1 so stop with that. It is an error card with Donald Royal on front and Kobe on back worth a couple hundred bucks. Several of these errors were released.
I have a question. What website do you find your lockers with sports cards in them? I am a big sports card whiz and I want to buy some lockers with sports cards in them.
The Nolan Ryan ball and picture, I was at that game with my mom. We sat on the 3rd base line and we had no idea what had happened except that from where we were sitting it looked like he had dirt on his jersey and every inning he would come out with a new shirt. We didn't know till the next morning and we saw that picture on the front of the morning newspaper.
Look out for old topps chrome, finest. Sp authentic. Out of those old singles some of the only ones that were interesting were the magic finest with a coating on it and the Tim Duncan sp authentic. You have a looooot of cards that aren't worth too much sadly. You should definitely keep the packs unopened as those are actually decent for resale value. It's very clear this guy saw the boom. Sold his good stuff. And put the rest in storage. If you think about how much he opened. If he left the good stuff you'd have at least some more real autos/jersey cards. I will also say your friends were very optimistic in some ways. That Donovan Mitchell "rookie" is actually his second year card. So you were misinformed on that one.
Yikes. I didn’t see anything I haven’t owned or passed on. I’m guessing there were. I just didn’t see anything. John Stockton, Charles Barkley have money in their early fleer rc’s. Duncan and Webber were guys I loved but not worth anything. I would’ve expected a lot more from the locker. That person already sold or picked up the good stuff if there was sny
Yes this is the dirty secret of the hobby amazing collections are left behind because the original collector either has no chance to sell or a emotional attachment like a hoarder
I really wish you would have shown some of the better cards. You mentioned cards on the table being from $20 to $600. From what you showed in the video I didn’t see much value. I’d be shocked if you made your money back on that lot. With the amount of time sorting you’d have been way better off flipping something else but get that you wanted the content. I did like your advice to people not risking thousands of dollars if they have no knowledge of cards. It’s so much work if you are starting from zero.
I really want that. But my dad would say no. I LOVE sports cards. And keep on trying to find more storage locker with cards. I’m digging the video. Even though I’m really young I would say that is about. 20,000 and I will grade cards for hours.
Byu hat.. stockton and d. Mitchell jazz cards. You must be from utah county haha. Good video. No jordans in all that is crazy to me . The john stockton gold card you picked up the 100 superstars card is a cool one of had the whole 100 star set with jordan in it
So much money and time wasted wow...and nearly every single one of the cards you showed, and thought its worth a bit is basically worth nothing Also the 5k comic...1st, its a fixed price, its not really worth that much and he only puts the price up because of the 9.9 graidng thats insanely good...yours is not worth more than 10 bucks, and thats a generous guess. Of course you didnt show everything, but you are extremely extremely lucky if you get 50% so 4000$ back, but probably much less Of course youre new to all that stuff, but you really should get help by an expert do avoid thing like that
I know right? Says he loves basketball but apparently only knows about Jordan, Kobe, Garnett, Shaq and Duncan. Can't even say Giannis correctly and he's the best player in the NBA.
Nowhere near $50k worth of value here. Tatum was a decent card, but nothing else that was shown had hardly any value. I think the storage facility made out as the real winner here.
The issue with the sports card market going crazy is everyone thinks their old collections are worth a million dollars. From what I saw in this video this collection is worth no where near $8000.
I’m 9minutes in and nearly every card has been junk. Hopefully the rest get better.
I doesn’t
Dan and family have a great Xmas and new year 2022 nice locker
Yes this is the dirty secret of the hobby amazing collections are left behind because the original collector either has no chance to sell or a emotional attachment like a hoarder
This is barely English.
I love sport cards and your video
I really wish you would have shown some of the better cards. You mentioned cards on the table being from $20 to $600. From what you showed in the video I didn’t see much value. I’d be shocked if you made your money back on that lot. With the amount of time sorting you’d have been way better off flipping something else but get that you wanted the content.
I did like your advice to people not risking thousands of dollars if they have no knowledge of cards. It’s so much work if you are starting from zero.
11:16 I don’t think that’s a rookie
Hard to believe that locker went for 8k
2 desperate people = a BAD auction!
Insane, should have gone for $800, MAXXXXX
Those rated rookie cards goes for a lot
I really want that. But my dad would say no. I LOVE sports cards. And keep on trying to find more storage locker with cards. I’m digging the video. Even though I’m really young I would say that is about. 20,000 and I will grade cards for hours.
I love baseball cards
You should do a video with lunkerstv and grimes finds on storage units
Byu hat.. stockton and d. Mitchell jazz cards. You must be from utah county haha. Good video. No jordans in all that is crazy to me . The john stockton gold card you picked up the 100 superstars card is a cool one of had the whole 100 star set with jordan in it
Obviously they went through the cards before this dude took possession and they took all the valuable ones then made 8K off this guy
So much money and time wasted wow...and nearly every single one of the cards you showed, and thought its worth a bit is basically worth nothing
Also the 5k comic...1st, its a fixed price, its not really worth that much and he only puts the price up because of the 9.9 graidng thats insanely good...yours is not worth more than 10 bucks, and thats a generous guess.
Of course you didnt show everything, but you are extremely extremely lucky if you get 50% so 4000$ back, but probably much less
Of course youre new to all that stuff, but you really should get help by an expert do avoid thing like that
Auction off the cards on a livestream!
Anyone else having issues with the video not being in sync with video?
Not even worth a k…. You lost 7000 easily 😂
that autograph picture of the yankees player was Whitey Ford and was a good pitcher back in the day
My favorite units are where I make thousands not throw away thousands!
Lol all these cards are base and that comic selling for 4K was graded lol 😂
He really said Jiannis-
Why don’t you selling some of your find at pawn stars so you can have a little colab with rick & chumlee?
@Steve King good point.
LMFAO it's all junk wax sadly.
Good on you man
That’s not a Donovan Mitchell rookie. Any baseball from 1980s-90s, sadly aren’t worth the “cardboard” they are printed on.
80 topps Henderson, 82 topps traded ripken, 83 topps Gwynn, 84 fleer update Clemens, 86/87 topps Tiffany cards, 89 upper deck Griffey, 90 leaf frank Thomas, many 92 bowman cards, 93 jeter anything especially SP, 95 bowman/chrome Vlad, many 97 bowman chrome cards...
Why is Charles Barkley on the 76ers? You must be a true fan...
I know right? Says he loves basketball but apparently only knows about Jordan, Kobe, Garnett, Shaq and Duncan. Can't even say Giannis correctly and he's the best player in the NBA.
Love from India !! :)
I Love Cards
Not worth 8k not even remotely close. You got royally ripped off 😂
Are you selling the comics?
Nowhere near $50k worth of value here. Tatum was a decent card, but nothing else that was shown had hardly any value. I think the storage facility made out as the real winner here.
