- Walk into a random breakfast shop in Wuhan, and you’ll definitely find something called doupi. It’s like an egg roll stuffed with sticky rice and crunchy bamboo shoots. And if you’re still hungry, there’s always a fried bun to grab - that’s made to Wuhan’s love for carbs.
This is the second episode of City Bites, Wuhan edition, where we dive into the city’s unique food culture, and its roots.

Doupi is insanely delicious. As a Taiwanese person, I’m rarely impressed by other street foods/breakfast items. Wuhan has made me a fan❤

武汉伢 represent!! Our 过早 culture is famous worldwide. You could eat something different every morning for one month straight and you would still have new dishes to explore. If you had to cover all the breakfast dishes in one video, it'd be hours long. We load the carbs for breakfast because it will last 5 hours guaranteed. In fact, when I immigrated to the US when I was little, there was no equivalent breakfast here that was as cheap, fast, and filling as Wuhan breakfast. I LOVE my city getting big love from you guys! Keep up the good work!
P.S. I personally crave an authentic bowl of 豆皮 and 面窝。拐子最爱骑 ;)
