Which dish from City Bites Hong Kong edition do you want to try the most?😛
Charsiuu and yumcha
The different take on the traditional egg tarts would be great to try. 😊
a bit of nostalgia for me. Born in HK...moved away before 97. The one thing i can't get nor replicate...is the dried salted fish. None of the steaming...deep fried!! Goes nicely with a bowl of steamed white rice
any dish that i don't see angie face
You should put location in the youtube video, googlemap spot
I've not been back to HK nearly 10 years... Miss HK food the most
Another great video! Sad you have finished your Hong Kong videos but excited to see what city is next. 😊

I love this channel. As a food lover who used to live in Hong Kong as a kid, this series brings back many very special memories of when I was living there.

Awesome series!!
Loved this episode! Great seeing the old school way of roasting meat and the honest & clear way it was done to produce all these delicious roast foods.
Great series
Thanks for putting this series together! It really puts me in touch with my roots and gives context to my parents' food stories about their HK childhood. I look forward to the next city but these episodes hold a special place in my heart. Thanks again for your great work and research!
Those two sauces that were poured onto the roast pork at the 4:05 mark definitely caught my eye. Particularly, that first brownish beige sauce or gravy. I can't recall if I'd ever seen that done here in the U.S. Apparently, there are a lot of "spices" or aromatics in it as the owner said in his voiceover narration at that point. That second sauce, which is something like a sticky sweet soy sauce, although fairly light in color here, is a more common finishing sauce on roast pork in the U.S. based on my experience over the years. Very interesting.
the greyish sauce has an offally taste kind of like the inside of a roast duck
@@RylHango Oh, thanks for that insight. I appreciate it.
I would eat it without the sauce. You want to taste the roasting quality on its own.
they prob won't give out their secrets for that specific sauce but almost all of these places will give you "duck juice" (not the plum sauce) and "charsiu juice", which are their respective braising liquids, upon request. just ask for both on the side and you can pour as needed, otherwise they dump it directly on top, which if you ordered the 2 or 3 delicacies plate, will make the rice soggy in minutes.
Great work 👍🏻
Loved this episod
Food is definitely a Language we all speak and according this clip these meat 🍖 dishes are certainly speaking back!! I love the open fire/ smoke pit concept on the Pork!! To me that makes the meat more tender than anything!! This was a great collaboration of videos you put together!! Well Done 👍🏽 and Thanks for Sharing💜🤍🔮🤍💜

Super series! I’ve never been in Hong Kong or China, but after watching your videos and the way you show your point of view it’s amazing. To the point that looks that I need to take a trip just for eating there. Thank you very much for the production, the dishes, the people you connect and the business that gets recognition for their hard work. Looking forward for the next season. Greetings from the other side of the world.
