Thanks so much for covering my game! I'm thrilled that you enjoyed it. I totally agree that the variety of combinations is the lifeblood of the game so I'm working hard to make sure runs feel fresh and require novel combinations to get out of difficult scenarios. Spellmasons also supports multiplayer so if you are interested in trying it with friends let me know and I can get you set up with a beta server. And thanks to everyone who tuned in to watch! As Splat said, it comes to Steam Jan 31. May your spells be diabolical and devastating! 🧙♂💥🧟♂
@@wrongtown The turns are faction-based, so all players can move and act simultaneously, then when they are all done with their turn, it moves to the next faction (NPC Allies, then NPC enemies).
Add a spell that lets you add a wall, also if enemies are behind a wall make sure they can’t know you are there, just cuz I saw one of the blobs go straight for splat when he was around the corner. Otherwise great game 👍🏽.
Really looking forward to playing this as soon as it is out! I've really enjoyed a little game called Rift Wizard because of the amount of spells to choose & this seems like it will take that to the next level. Spellcrafting is a fantastic concept and I'm sure will keep the player thinking so I am looking forward to playing this a ton! Nice work!
The Nerd Castle was besieged but the true King rallied from the Citadel. Now we are free again under your banner king Splatter! Huzzah! Hip hip hooray!
Hey man, I don't post on videos that often but I'm super glad you got access to all of you stuff back. I watch your channel daily and love your content. Hope you get a chance to sit back and relax a bit now and return to normalcy.
oh yeah, this is my jam. For me, one of the appeals of the arcane power fantasy is being able to be creative. Mix and matching spell effects to get the exact result you want is what I like.
The concept reminds me of Magicka, where you're given command of a number of elements / forces and you can combine them as you wish (earth + fire = fireball, earth + ice = ice comet, etc.) to bring death and destruction upon the world of the living! It had a pretty fun multiplayer too :D
Cool game! It didn't look like much at the beginning, but it definitely has a lot of strategy to think about and it got me really interested after watching you play a couple of levels.
Cool. I built a magic system similar to this for Tele-Arena, a bbs game, about 20 years ago. Gotta love a deep system. As the spell got more complex, the difficulty went up. As the players level went up, their capacity increased. You could fire fast spells or powerful spells. And some enemies worked better with one type, so combat required thought.
I'd love to see two bars, one for spell effects, and another for modifiers (cone, radius, push, etc.). It would make it easier to sort and plan that way.
I recently picked this game up. It's been updated a fair bit to be considerably more polished. More spells, more interesting enemies, working multiplayer, better UI, etc. There isn't much in terms of endgame content, but the devs are working on that. It's kinda hard to balance enemies off of the sorts of shenanigans late game mages can pull off.
So very good that Splatty is back, always so entertaining and this is a very interesting game, I wish it had better graphics, then it'd be absolutely over-the-top magnificent but still lookin pretty damn interesting!
I am both happy and a bit sad. Happy to have more Splat videos, but a bit sad to think that Splat was working when he should have been enjoying the holidays with family. :)
I don't actually find many indie games interesting but I still love watching splat play these games. I've always been a fan since he played Dark Heresy with Total Biscuit and always will be.
Looks like a fun game, it reminds me of noita and path if exile, i hope the variety of support abilities will (eventually) also resemble those, like totems, mines, ability walls. Like a slow moving orb which releases projectiles or areas you need to dodge or get killed by your own spell.
First very glad you are back, sorry you went through that. You do know you can see enemy movement and attack ranges right? As well you can rend without attaching it to something else.
Hey Mate, have you ever done any courses in game design or programming? Just curious, I love your critique and watch most vids, and thinking of re-skilling in video game development
I like the pixel animations and death animations are bloody! The cards have great detail! But what is the theme you're going for? Music is for like stardew valley something? Also, my biggest complaint is the negative space is almost half your screen real-estate and first few levels being white looked really unappealing. I almost backed out of the video immediately because of it. I highly recommend a filler like stone shaders. Hope the game goes well for you!
I think you didn't understand a lot of the mechanics in the game. Rend does not buff other spells it just does damage. Also there's an indicator that shows whether enemies are in range of attacking you this turn.
Did you change your mic? i was comparing it with the Hero's Hour video, and it sounds better there edit: wait, no. maybe it's my ears doing fuckery since i'm a bit sick maybe the first few seconds in both videos? this video sounds more... nasal(?)
This looks soo far up my ally even the tenets aren't sure where they live. You showcase some gems with the kinda charisma, and gift of gab, that even my lady, whose never been a gamer, enjoys em. I see it as half you, half your good taste, via the intrigue, ingenuity, and genius found in the passion projects that are soo many indie games; as opposed to a-aaa titles... maybe she would think portal, or myst, are cool, but there's an argument to be made that one came from a time of less financial potential, allowing greater creator control. Then the other, which was willed up in the time of big budge block busts, but only by being a hooked worm, to lure the author to the company. Tldr- i like ur videas

Multiplayer sounds fascinating, does everyone lock in their actions and then "simultaneously" act, or is there some kind of initiative order, or....?
@@wrongtown The turns are faction-based, so all players can move and act simultaneously, then when they are all done with their turn, it moves to the next faction (NPC Allies, then NPC enemies).

Holy crap, I didn’t realize how much I enjoy splat until he was gone
this comment, right here, is true
Splat is great, but where is the Tesla Twitter channel that has such interesting content?
So glad Spatter is back.
Watching his videos is always such a enjoyment.
I'm so glad you got your channel back
So glad to have you back Splat, I felt like the little guy you mentioned in the other video missing his daily Splattercat except I'm 45 lol
Glad to see you got your channel back.

Great video as always. I'm loving this game I hope it catches fire, I'd love to see more people playing it.
Thank you!
I been seeing this game pop up and the fact if doesn't have a bigger following already is crazy! It looks so fun and amazing!!!

Looks extremely fun! Definitely going to check this out when this release in end of January.

Good to have you back!! I was actually watching one of your videos when the channel went
Glad to see you're back!
So glad to have Splat back.
If you like this, you might also like 'Rift Wizard'. It was released on steam a couple years ago.
Yeah I was feeling a similar vibe, Splatt covered Rift Wizard back in the day 😁

The Return of the King
This looks super fun!!
Good to be back

new Microphone ? or room ?
Welcome back!

Try to check out Duelyst 2 its a remake of the old Duelyst, I think you would like it. Also great video as always and welcome back! 😁
NERD CASTLE IS BAAAAAACCKKKKK!!!!! ❤️
This makes me think of a mix of Vampire Survivors and a CCG like Slay the Spire. Great concept!
I get a little Magicka vibe from the casting procedure, as well.
They made Slay the Spire into a CCG? Quickly, where do I buy!?
Splattercat has opened the door to indie games for me...what are some other sources people use to find the gems in the indie world?
They need to take this spell crafting concept and pair it with the gameplay of Vampire Survivors.

Since there won't be any Noita 2, I'm sure this game will be absolutely fantastic.

I would love to see your take on Flight of Nova.

Circle into rend rend rend and then bloat would chop them up before exploding.
dam this is a really cool game actually unfortunately I probably won't end up playing it
I made it real early today
Try some Noita, you'll love it when it comes to spellcrafting.
reminds me of Rift Wizard
I was thinking of doing a game in which you make your own spells. Dang, they beat me to it.
Makes your somewhat different.
Or even use another art-style ;-)
