I've been watching videos from a woman up in Canada who raises LOTS of sheep - this past few weeks was her first lambing season of the year. Helping an ewe get a lamb out is fascinating. Her channel is her name, Sandi Brock, if you want to see a huge indoor operation.
Follow up to weaning suggestion...a parelli carrot stick or similar is extra helpful when herding 😊 I usually herd everything from the cattle to the fowl alone and there's no way I could get done as fast without a carrot stick. Also...you guys are so personable, cute and funny! Thanks for being RUclipsers!

Justin….. You make it look so easy to move the temp fencing…. I’ve tried it, it’s heavy and gets tangled. I almost “lost my religion” today after moving it…. I’ve watched your videos on this fencing…. It’s not easy at all. Especially when you’re doing it solo.
I love this idea. We've got 70 sheep and no electricity! We're grazing them old school style and need some solutions. 😎I'd love to have a 'few' mobile pens like this in our future. Fabulous design!
In UK we farmers leave the lambs with their mums for a year and they wean themselves. They stay with moms till 1yr old ready for harvesting. So pleased guard dog ,is gradually bonding with the animals. Love your vlogs. Your family is amazing, you all work hard. Best wishes ps...piglets are cute and sweet, mama did well.

Justin, have you ever heard of Agrivoltaics? Imagine owning a solar farm while growing crops underneath. You could be fully off of the grid while selling energy back to the grid.
Suggestion for easy weaning: put the Ewes on one side and the lambs on the other side of a horizontal, static fence so if the Ewes want the lambs to nurse they can come stand by the fence and the lambs can stick their head between the bars to nurse. Your way will work too, but with the "lamb led" weaning, you have fewer escaping attempts.
You should get Ben Hollar to make you another pen, but make it like the ones he made for Jess and Jeremiah that, he made that have bolts, so you don't need to have it out in the fields, then you can keep the ram and steer away from the girls

a while ago when the lambs were born, he said the lambs were unexpected. Their mothers were younger than the typical age for lambing He explained it in the beginning, the lambs are wearing out their mothers.
Me too. I have a Pyrenees and this guy is a stubborn jerk and will not listen to any advice people give him. He doesn’t understand the breed and is making things worse. Just because she is a guardian work dog doesn’t mean she doesn’t have feelings and he underestimates how smart this breed is. He ignores all advice and doesn’t like or respond to any comments of people trying to help like most u-tubers do.
I don’t understand why you want your animal stationary ? I live in England where animal roam for miles , this is where the meat is developed built and create flavour .. your just going to create fat tasteless meat ? Also this can’t be good for the animal fitness ?

Food is no longer food .. it’s disgraceful. The ideal would be to have a large amount of land to keep a few hens a cow and a few pigs .. small scale and do it well .. eat as little meat as possible whilst being healthy and the animals being healthy .. unfortunately this is becoming virtually impossible

Ben updated the design when he made Roots and Refuge’s pens. It’s lighter.

Well them girls will be breed early this year. Taking that Ram out of that pen and thinking them fences will keep them apart is a mistake.
