    Returned to riding after 30 years, bought this bike. DCT converted me in about 5 miles. Doesn't feel like its 500 pounds unless you're pushing it around in the garage. The weight down low makes is more nimble than the much lighter bikes I took my classes and tests on. It's fabulous for cruising at moderate speeds and seeing the sites, plus popping off to the grocery. You can get quite a load into that frunk. A gallon of milk and a dozen eggs and it's still half empty. My full face helmet plus gloves, first aid kit, jacket and more hide inside while I'm doing the shopping. My wife loves it because I do all the small trips. I'm very tall and have the standard screen. I get clean air on my helmet, wind begins at or below my chin. Not tempted to change the screen because clean air isn't always easy to come by on any bike. I'll probably shell out for a custom seat, new rear shock and maybe emulators for the forks, but I'm in no hurry. Just plain works as is.

      Great review on the nc750xdct I’ve just returned to biking after twenty years I got myself a Honda monkey last year funny enough from damerels it’s a great little bike but I do miss the power of a bigger bike had lots of powerful bikes but at 67 this would be a great choice I was surprised at the handling and speed for a twin lots of tech on it and price was good also I’ll have to have a look at one at the dealers all the best.

    You are so right about the final drive, this bike definitely deserves something better than just another chain, either belt or shaft drive. I own a 2018 NC750X with manual transmission, and that chain is the only thing I don't like about it. Honda used to make practical middleweight bikes with shaft drive, but unfortunately these days everything is cheap, dirty chains.

      @olethorhermansen5696 Год назад

      @@duesirider4270 I have a chain oiler on my NC750X too, but my main grievance with chain drive is that no matter how you lubricate the chain, sooner or later most of that lubricant end up on the rear rim, the chain guard, the center stand, all over the lower rear end of the bike, and it's a real mess to clean. I would happily give up a little efficiency for a clean final drive, but unfortunately the middleweight shaft drive motorcycle is as extinct as the dinosaurs, and belt drive is inexplicably reserved for huge American cruisers.

    Liter bikes are a blast ... for about 30 minutes. Cruisers are great for the highway ... but are a hassle getting out of the garage and maneuvering in the city (and cost too much to justify owning). UJMs aka Standards are great ... but get bulky and silly looking with panniers and top cases. Manual gearboxes are my favorite ... until in stop and go traffic. I've always looked down on the NC750x DCT, but it may be the perfect bike for me. Comfortable, light, cheap, built in storage, automatic trans! Just give me double discs and another 10-20 hp as I don't care if I get 50 vs 70mpg. Nice review!

    I think this might be better as a 900. Add cruise control if the latest model doesn't have it yet. Dual front brakes. More seat options. And an option to turn the cargo compartment into a secondary tank. Also come out with a matching sidecar for it.

    A beautiful motorcycle, but it has several flaws that are unforgivable for this type of motorcycle. For example, one disk on the front wheel, while the Honda cb 500x has two disks, even though it has 450cc, the temperature indicator is missing, and there is no gauge for the amount of fuel in the tank. I don't even like the fact that the height of the seat cannot be adjusted, which is only 800mm, while the older models have 830mm. I'm 198cm tall and it's not a bike for me, at least as far as the seat height is concerned. For the fuel quantity indicator, I would find a solution, which is a carrying canister of at least 5 liters of fuel, which is attached to the engine, because sometimes if you don't see the fuel quantity indicator and you don't remember to look into the tank sometimes.

If I were spending for a brand new one I would like Honda use the new front end from the 500x and standard cruise control. Maybe Honda will do that in 2024. I do not have a problem with the chain drive for this bike .

      Modern bikes shouldn't have ancient technology anywhere on them and a chain drive is without a doubt ancient tech. Sure chains work but a belt drive is a better option that would not add much if any cost to the bike. A shaft drive might be better yet in terms of low maintenance even though it is claimed by some that shaft drives rob the bike of a bit of its power. Each to their own preference but for me I think a belt would be a much better fit for this particular bike.

      @@theloftybiker3090 the last time I checked the only people that could stomach that Marmite was the Aussies. I would like to know who first thought that fermented yeast might taste good. A DCT system probably has about a 50/50 chance of people liking it or not. Marmite maybe 1 in a hundred go "Mmmm that's tasty"....lol.

    I’ve heard that the DCT’s don’t like it much if one is excessively engaging in slow speed manoeuvres: I recall that a Goldwing owner had it replaced 3 times in a year or so: Honda did the first two under warranty but refused the third directly because of the excessive very slow speed usage. Otherwise a great system.
