My apple sauce is zingy and bright in flavor. I incorporate the peels and slightly warm it to pack into jars and process in a canner. This produces a much brighter flavor than traditional canned apple sauce that is pressure-cooked or cooked to death. I love canning!
I have never had any whole grains spoil before they disappear. 😊 Most whole grains will stay fresh for a year without using the long-term storage systems I demonstrate in PD-Ed. I use oxygen absorbers and mylar bags in waterproof barrels in the PD-Ed deep pantry stocking lesson. Shelf life for beans, lentils, dried pasta, and whole grains is listed in the Class Notes.
