I love Martin and I had family members with strokes, Martin most definitely had a stroke
Martin owes none of us any type of explanation.
I'm not sure about the stroke. But, Martin has been open about being bipolar and some of the medications that are used to treat bipolar disorders like Risperdal, seroquel, lithium, depakote, caplyta and other can have side effects like slurred speech, muscle spasms, low sex drive, fatigue, and other things. Tardiness Dyskinesia can also occur very frequently with these medications as it affects the nervous system. So, I personally think his issues are bipolar medication related.
Oh yeah…..I forgot about that. I do vaguely remember hearing about him being bipolar.

Quite the contrary, Martin has denied being bipolar. The only quote attributed to him discussing being bipolar is of him denying being bipolar.
@nomibe2911 to my knowledge, Martin has admitted to being bipolar. If he like Kanye has decided to say that isn't the case, then alright. But, a diagnosis of Bipolar is a chronic mental illness that does not go away. It is treated with medication and talk therapy. But, there is such a stigma around mental illness in black community and medication that I'm not surprised if Martin admitted then changed his mind. Mental illness will do that too you. All one needs to do is look at Donny Hathaway or Phyllis Hyman to see what happens when mental illness goes untreated or you stop treatment

If it isn't a stroke, he has something like MS. My dad had it and he shows all the same signs. The way his mouth is crooked when he talks, the slurring, and after that video on the balcony when he was holding onto Will. Its a terrible disease... I hope I'm wrong but that's exactly how my pops looked

What ever is wrong with Martin Lawrence, he ain’t the same, meaning he doesn’t look or act the same. So he can deny having a stroke but something happened to him with the slow taking , facial expressions are off and Will helping him to walk…😮 We still love him regardless ..

I have to thank bomb1st for filling in allll if the West Coast blanks I had. I was always a 2pac fan and my dad filled me in on the documentaries but this channel has been an experience! I feel like the only people that are saying that he didn't have a stroke (Martin himself aside, I feel like he's either embarrassed or trying to act like it never happened), are people that are too young to remember when he had that heat stroke in 1999 and was in a coma for a couple days. It happened and it's just a fact; you can Google the news stories from the time.

I totally agree with Reggie, and I've been saying (speculating) this for years. His speech is off and slurred. Bobby Brown had his stroke and sounded similar. Sometimes, too, you can a very minor stroke, or series of minor strokes, that you may take as just a quick "health spell" and it doesn't warrant an immediate hospital visit. I believe he had a stroke, but I guess he's protecting his HIPAA rights.

This is very sad. I grew up, and was raised watching Martin… I’ve spent many mornings laughing before school watching re runs. You can literally see it in his mouth. And I watched that clip multiple multiple times trying to convince myself he was just doing the tight lip thing he does when he’s cutting into someone on Martin. I hope he gets better and bounces back pray 🙏🏼

Reggie, lets say you're right. I would think so to, but he said he didn't. This is the first time I've known somebody to hide having a stroke umm, ive heard people keeping a cancer diagnosis or HIV from other's but if he did have a stroke first time ive heard someone denying it. I guess he has his reasons, if that's what it is.
