Refn is a master of imagery, and Cliff Martinez proves once again to be my favourite composer of this generation.
one of those youtube ads that you can skip after 5s, but you're so mesmerized by it that you watch the whole thing, then look it up and watch it again. amazing photography going on here, each scene is is super unique, sophisticated, and interesting never allowing the viewer's eye to tire or stray. very well done. the only other ad that I've had this type of experience would be the Volvo truck commercial featuring Enya's "Only Time" and Van Damme. it's funny you can make an at length ad that doesn't give you any reason to buy the product, but the experience of watching the ad was so enjoyable that you remember the product just because you remember it as the product with that amazing ad. hey if you want to communicate to an audience that your product will give an enjoyable experience that they won't forget than give them an ad that gives an enjoyable experience that they won't forget.

I never watch ads anymore, I absolutely hate the bloody things. With this one, it compelled me to watch it through. Music that enchants, visuals that delight and tantalize the imagination. I have a really strong emotional connection developed from this ad. This ad is so good, I can see a sci-fi like dystopian series built around this, however I feel at the same time that nothing will ever match this masterpiece.
This is my favorite commercial of recent memory.

I did, this commercial spot is all Illuminati starting for the sun in the middle of the eye; this isn't new though, I remember a picture in the seventies in which the wrapping paper formed a dog in one of this Hennessey ads but I would say in my humble opinion that people see what they want to see and that's OK with me...

Well, also Arabs and Middle East (Israel also maybe as I read recently) has that hand symbol, to ward of evil I think, and maybe Indian/Hindu people (from India not USA) have it too. Refn's new film "The Neon Demon" just dropped its first trailer, and I'm a bit worried that it looks like a one giant commercial...
I mean, he's mainly done adverts since his flop "Only God Forgives" (which I liked), it's just I'm not hoping that he's going style over substance again...
But I am excited for "The Neon Demon" for its entire female-lead story, which is technically a first for Refn...
Did you see his earlier films? Not bad. Haven't seen the Neon one, I liked all others so far.
