This dinner looked pretty amazing! But maybe instead of 3 poultry dishes maybe a pork or beef. Although everything looked amazing. At least the diners were honest. Loved the family home! Very beautiful antiques! Also enjoyed the aspect of charcoal cooking. Great video but yes the hosts were a bit overbearing at times!
It's all a matter of perspective. In many Asian culture and scenario it is perfectly ok. In fact it makes for a nice dinner away from the humdrum of the daily grind. You find this absolute distasteful and obnoxious from your perspective. Many people understand that and feel for you. But I don't believe it deserves the harsh criticism lashed on this video. I don't believe the producers intended it to be nasty or debasing.

And have you also read all of the replies to your comment? They ought to tell you that my perspective of the Asian culture is in sync with all the replies to your comment. I on the other hand have not commented detrimentally on "ang moh" culture and perspective. Plus I suspect you are not ang moh yourself. How did you come to your "perspective".
I hope this place and the chef gets another tv or even a good vlogger's episode. The two tv hosts got a bit too tactless and annoying as the show progressed.

How can Chinese dinner be complete without Pork, Beef, Soup, and some kinda wine...? Portions were too small. The two hosts who are seeking publicity were actually annoying the guests with their silly "gigs". Except for the antiques collection, the ambiance wasn't really that thrilling for the price charged per head. No doubt the Chef has employed some creativity in his cooking style. When I visited Mauritius few years back, I wanted to dine in a Chinese owned Chinese restaurant, but decided to check the details about the food with the Chinese owner. To my surprise he said that : He doesn't serve Beef to keep his Hindu customers happy, and on the other hand he doesn't serve Pork to keep his Muslim customers happy....!!! However, he promised he will prepare authentic Chinese Pork and Beef dishes privately, if I would place an order in advance!!!

Not sure how this is worth $80 per head let alone the $100 they now charge. Relatively simple tze char fare with little sophistication above that which you'll get at a proper restaurant.
You pay for the skill, not for the ingredients. And such private dining experience are for people who could afford that. Poor and stupid people pls stay away and adjust according to your own poor budget..

ZL the soup used a whole chicken. But just wish to have more prawns , at least 2 prawns per person, or 2 similar plates.
